How did you know we didn't suggest it? Be proactive and say to Peyton let's meet somewhere that won't have the media hounding you.

While your interpretation may be true! I can just as easy see a man going through a new process in his pro career. He's learning the ropes and headed back to Indy were he can have alittle privacy. Maybe even set up a interview were people see him in his natural setting, while not being inundated with meeting every Pr person, player , trainer ect.
    .
IMO a man that says sure come on down i'll talk to ya. Usually isnt gonna feed your ego for giggles 5-6 hr. All speculative but i believe having the guy invite ya into what has been his haven for the last 14 yrs could be just as important in the concept as getting called to Indy.

EDIT: Note this is also my answer to the OP.

We cant refute, dispute or confirm what every idiot beat writer is saying imo. You do business following wishes of both parties with class and dignity.

And yet the masses still buy into it and read it. Just like politics you feed into it and it becomes too emotional. As far as the franchise I would rather have football people making the decisions than anyone on the board.

I'm wondering why you signed up for a fan message board if you don't enjoy doing any of the stuff that fans do.

I especially enjoy the vandalism. Nothing like a good dumpster fire after a loss to calm the nerves.

What secret meeting ?? We all knew about it ?? This is about letting Manning and our team get together outside the confines of Davie and the media hounds that will be interrupting them. This is about them meeting to talk about football, not about the cameras and mics....have some patience and let this play out...

As far as Manning goes, I have no problem at all in them meeting Peyton in Indy. I think it was a great move.

I signed up because I'm a fan, not a constant complainer. I get what most people are saying here but it seems like it is always whoa is me, poor us, it is what it is and we need to move on. I personally don't believe that what we say here has any input at all on a decision.

You just answered your own question. I actually couldnt have given a better response.

And you didnt kidnap Manning and put him on a plane back to Miami with a note saying "Sorry I had to do this but you need to sign in Miami" because.....? :chuckle:

Actually he did mind the media attention in Denver, he got followed there too. If you think about it, a meeting in a private location was actually pretty smart.

So they met in Indy for 5-6 hours. Nothing all that secret, is there.

What this really shows is that some people are obsessed with conspiracy theories and drama. Who cares. It's a company. It's not like they are plotting the destruction of America so we should have an investigation! Don't think the Dolphins are members of the trilateral commission! lol!

As to the real story - the Dolphins meeting with Peyton - I really think that ship has flown and that Manning doesn't want to feel the heat in Miami.

Just a thought, but maybe the "secret location" was only secret because the Phins and Mannings Camp kept their lips tight on the whole matter.
There is also a possibility that Manning had something scheduled in Indy for Monday and the Phins wanted to talk before today 4pm, so it was the only option.
I am also convinced that there have been talks between the two sides before without meeting in Miami or sitting on the same table.
    Telephone or Video-Conference anyone?
Or a "secret" meeting before he was released, we would never find out about because of the tampering rules.
If we are out of the race why have a 6h meeting with the coaching staff?
Wouldn´t it be easier to meet with Ross and/or Ireland for and hour and tell em thanks but no thanks.
Especially after the 2 days in Zona and Denver reports were that Manning is "exhausted"?

I think they could care less about what anyone says on this board, what anyone wants or what anyone feels on these boards. I doubt they made a decision about where or when the meeting was held based on these message boards. It is what it is, a discussion, speculation and opinions of Dolphin fans who gather together to voice their opinions, relieve stress and talk about anything Dolphin related. Any decision that was made about the location, timing or details was strictly an attempt to avoid the media. It may be frustrating to hear all of the negativity and speculation but these people have as much right to have their opinions as I do to have mine.
I will just be glad when this is all over one way or the other so we can move on to the next topic at hand. We still have Free Agency and the Draft to discuss and speculate on. "GO DOLPHINS".

A secret meeting with Manning? In a way that's a bit odd. But can you help Manning to have a secret meeting? As of lately, everyone wants to know which team Manning is going to and after awhile it can be annoying. And on the other hand maybe Manning has already made a deal with the Dolphins and that's maybe why he had the secret meeting.

Who knows what the decision is going to be. We have to wait and see what his decision is!

There wasn't anything "Secret" about any of it. Miami arranged to meet with him. They didn't bother to say where - why should the alert the media (when Manning already has had enough of the attention) and bring them with them to Indy? The media found out quickly enough that they were meeting with him in Indy. These are not the conspiracies you're looking for ... move along.

I agree completely that the Dolphins organization owes us nothing in terms of what news it decides to release. I've never had a problem with that. I do have a problem though with the way the Miami Dolphins are constantly portrayed by the media. I think the way we do things is part of the problem. The other problem with the constant negative reporting is because the media has many people in it that clearly do not like the Dolphins. Don't mistake dislike for how we are portrayed for expecting them to care what we think about how want them to handle business. It would just be nice to see the Dolphins not be constantly reports as noobs everytime our name comes up.
