Can some of the more in the know members help out with a few questions?

Right now, what is our cap number? I've seen estimates range from $9.6-$11.8 million. Did we bring cap space from last year forward? Didn't we add the $1.6 million from the Cowboys and Redskins? What's our cap number after remove approximately $5.5 million in the Marshall trade? What is our cap number now that Soliai's tender is up and Langford is a Free Agent? Will I finally believe it's not butter?

Before the Marshall trade I saw roughly 18 mill. Donate 5 mill to rookies, 8.5 from marsh. Roughly 21.5 mill to spend

This may be a stupid question, but how is our cap number that high?

I am just trying to think of our highest paid players and can only come up with:
    Jake Long
    Karlos Dansby
    Brandon Marshall (who is gone...)

I can't really think of any other players who could have high cap numbers except possibly Y. Bell and Reggie Bush. How does our cap situation look for next year and the year after? I am wondering if this year is one of those years where we structured our salary cap to be pretty high (by loading players salaries in this year) and then have a much lower cap in the following years.

I'm kinda shocked too, I totally thought we had much more to play with before seeing that link, I remember reading a couple other it'd bits on our cap issue and figured us to be much farther under, that is before merging spitter murtha aNd marsh were done...

I posted a link somewhere in the Brandon Marshall thread. It was from the Miami herald. It said that we are 16 mil under the cap. This is after the Brandon Marshall trade, and after putting tenders on Murtha and merling and signing 2 other guys today

They should just save it and privately chemtrail sunlife with pot...instead of chalk, feck it, spend the extra cap space on real cocaine to mark the field. or maybe purchase one of those "gay" bombs from the military and detonate it over Buffalo..I mean, you could detonate it over the meadowlands or Foxborough but I think it would fail to bring about any noticeable change..(no offence, Giants)

I think it was 11.8 entering FA. Add in the 1.6 from the cowboys and redskins debacle and that's 13.4. Plus 5.8 from the Marshall trade after you get passed the 5M in dead cap marshall leaves us with and that should have us around 19.2m.

    As for highly paid guys...
    Long
    dansby
    5m dead cap from Marshall
    Bell
    Bush
    Starks
    Fasano
    Incognito

You've obviously never been to Buffalo.

Who would willingly go to that cesspool? I'd rather take my chances in Chernobyl or with Somali Pirates!

Not sure any of those players really deserve to be making a ton of money.

Long - Alright he deserves it, as long as he stays freaking healthy!
dansby - Hell of a linebacker, but will probably be too old before we are able to make any formidable run at a title
5m dead cap from Marshall (nothing we can do)
Bell - Over the hill. Loved this guy, its just a shame he came into the League so old.
Bush - I'd probably keep him given his salary. Played with attitude last year and will be an asset in the WC offense.
Starks - I really like Starks. He used to play 4-3 DT when he was younger so it will be interesting to see how he does.
Fasano - Solid all around TE, but nothing flashy. I am not sure how great a fit he will be in the WC. Could cut him and get a cheaper more receiving based T.
Incognito - Solid, but not worth big bucks in my opinion.

I know a lot of people there.

    There's nothing willing about it.

Point is that Ireland has proved himself inept and obtuse when he was sitting under the cap by like 9 mil. and failed to pick up a decent RT. In my own psyche, Ireland purposefully passed on Watters and Barron just to spite me...

We resigned Merling, with a 2nd round tender offer. I think hes getting like 1.3m. I also have a hunch he will be kept as depth if we go the 4-3 route as rumored
