You can start of course, by making contacts inside the Dolphin organization, like I used to have, but there is a way you can fake it, like I will try to do on this Peyton story. A brief history: The summer of 2010 in the NBA was the the biggest Free Agency bonanza in the history of sports, with a total exceeding 3 quarters of a billion dollars in contracts being handed out. I had the particulars and details of the Heat's free agency haul, far in advance of the national and local media, with my contacts in the league and within the team, but there was also another person I knew who "knew" some information before it was reported: My friend who is a longtime Miami Heat season ticket holder, who was/is very friendly with his "Account Executive". My friend was informed a day in advance of Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade committing to sign with the Heat that the Heat's season ticket sales group was being given "new" scripts to sell for the next day, along with new pricing, and were being informed that a high volume of calls would be coming in the next day. Each sales rep was given a brief Bio of Chris Bosh. Coincidence, I am sure. The day that Lebron James made the "decision", sales reps were again briefed and given a directive for "who" could have their season tickets upgraded, and given new scripts on how to sell, courtside, premium, Dewars Club, and suite seats. Another coincidence I am sure. The truth is that your sales rep/account executive/ticket rep is made aware in advance of any developments that could effect their job in a positive or negative way. They are usually made aware, of any "new" ticket campaigns at least a day or "days" in advance of any player acquisition that could effect ticket sales. So this is what you do: If you are a longtime season ticket holder, you have a Account Executive, and this person is usually in contact with you throughout a season. This person gets a bonus for any upgrades that they sell, or any new inventory that they move. They will gladly tell you of ANY new developments if you JUST ASK. I for one, will.
And all along I thought you either had some dirt on Riley or kidnapped Micky and his family.. Didn't realize it was so easy Social engineering
That's great Sec! That means you should be able to tell us at least a day in advance when Peyton agrees to sign with the Dolphins...right?
Manning to hold press conference Tuesday and will tell the nation, he is taking his talents to South Beach.
I like jokes..but this is rather insulting FinD. Danny Devito in Other Peoples Money is better and I would consider it a compliment.
I actually implemented this strategy, and my guy thinks Peyton Manning will be a Dolphin and that moral is pretty high in Dolphin land. it is HIS OPINION that it will happen. Now, for the bad news...He has not heard a single word about any ticket campaigns or promotional events. (which is not a good sign)
I am hearing it will take something like 4 years/$91 million to get P. Manning to sign with the Phins. I am not sure how much of that would be guaranteed, but if he is wanting this much and won't give anyone a shot to see him throw (besides personnel at Duke University), then I think we either sign M. Flynn, or wait till next year. We always wait too long and then we paint ourselves in a corner where it is too late to get anyone decent.
I'd love to have Peyton but at 4/91 I pass. Not even close. 3 years ago when healthy? Sure. Now? If his agent called me with that, there would be an awkward silence before I busted out laughing. good to see you around roman!
