I don't think it's about losing Marshall...I think it's about how we have no idea who will replace him. Combined with the fact we're probably not getting Manning.

HAHAHAH, I really wonder if he told them about the incident or not... I hope for our sake he did. The NFL has a ton of unwritten rules and if you break they they show little mercy. A little know fact is a few years ago when Jacksonville was picking top 10, I think 8 or 9 they tried desperately to trade back because they had Tyson Alualu so high on their board when they knew other teams didn't. They wanted to trade back and pick up a couple other picks and still get their guy. Well, no one would even talk to them about trading up because Gene Smith (thier GM) had violated one of these so called unwritten rules. I believe he grabbed a player before they cleared wires to go to the practice squad or something like that... I can't exactly remember what he did, but it was well within the rules just no one else does it as a courtesy.

Miami is trying to get Dallas' Laurent Robinson. A guy who pretty much demolished us when we faced him. Got 2 TD's on us.

That's right! It's production! Not just TD's, not just YAC, but a combination, and Marshall produced plenty.

With a guy like Marshall, CHI knows what they're getting into. That's gotta be why the low price.

I just love it though. This makes the whole drama absolutely ****ing hilarious imo. I can't wait for all those people who cried and cursed the situation today to wake up tomorrow and see this.

    Priceless.

Statement from Brandon Marshalls Attorney Harvey Steinberg regarding Club incident:

"On March 12,2012 Brandon Marshall was the key note speaker at a charitable event in New York. After the event was over he, his wife and close friends attended a function at a local club.
While at the function a fight broke out NOT involving Mr. Marshall or his friends. While attempting to leave to avoid the melee Mrs. Marshall was struck in the face by a thrown bottle. She suffered serious injury.
While attempting to leave and take his wife to the hospital, the mayhem continued outside. Finally Mr. Marshall was able to take his wife to the hospital where she was treated for serious injuries.
Mr. Marshall is hoping to assist authorities in regards to this matter."

    There is no incident.

His wife got hit in the bottle and Marshall had to escort her out, police asked him to be a witness.

    Marshall didn't do anything.

I think the meat of the statement is: "while attempting to leave and take his wife to the hospital, the mayhem continued outside."

I believe that will be the instance in question.

Also note that she had a "serious injury" but after they "finally" left, she was treated at the hospital for "serious injuries"

    Gotta love lawyers!

Ill raise you a Danny Thomas who couldn't get a 3rd and short to save his life, while releasing Lou Polite who batted near 1000%. The complacency we have to settle for. Reggie Bush almost played decent enough to barely resemble the 2nd overall player he was supposed to be, and Matt Moore who started at QB and didn't get a win until we were far removed from Play-off contention. These are your shining examples of irish's success. Guys who were good not great..and its his very best stuff.

Your whole argument lost legitimacy when you cited Reggie Bush's draft position in an attempt to distract from his 2011 performance and what Ireland paid for him (swapping 6th round picks).

    Weeeeak.

I was with you on Thomas, I absolutely hated that move.

Don't be naive, lawyers don't put out statments without proofreading. Those words were selected very carefully.

regardless of his draft position. Bush played great...for Reggie Bush. He was a good back. He didn't have a great season as far as RBs go. 1,086 yds. 16th in rushing in NFL. 6 Tds. Same as Marshall. He was good. Irish's crown jewel of 2011.

We should cut Hilliard and beg Polite to come back.

Bush's performance for what we gave up was great value. That's good management.

I'd rather cheaply sign M Bush or Tolbert.

Unless Marshall really did something outrageous at this club (and it sounds like he was trying to protect is psycho wife who was already injured, which you can hardly blame him if true), I stand by this being a dumb move. Trading him hours after this supposed incident where investigations are still ongoing is knee jerk at best.

Again, unless something comes out about Marshall pulling a gun or something of equal offense, we screwed ourselves.

how can you even say that? He is a headcase & will continue to get himself in trouble. Well worth getting rid of him. Sometimes you have to cut the lost & get rid of him if you think he will continue getting into trouble.
