I have no issues with them having a pla, but it sure as hell better not blow up in our faces and we're stuck without Manning and Flynn, without Marshall and without any WR.
The ONLY way I'm okay with trading Marshall is if we sign Flynn and somehow know Blackmon will be available at our pick, which he won't be.
I agree. Miami has been very quite and on lock down. I expect something big to happen, but again it all could be me getting my hopes up again only to get disappointed. I am in wait and see mode. There is no way we go into next season with Matt Moore as our #1 QB and Hartline as our #1 WR. No way.
well... Jeff Ireland is said to "LOVE" Matt Barkley. He was said to be one of a couple GMs that viewed him as just as good as Andrew Luck. I actually agree with him too.
Why not? We are the only team that trades for players and flips them for less than they paid. Seriously, say that in your head real quick and tell me it sounds right or gives you hope. Brandon Marshall was a key part of future success for this offense regardless of who is at QB. There is no big move available to be made that makes trading Marshall a good idea.
There is no way that Philbin agreed to start his coaching career by tanking his first season just to hope to out suck another team in hopes of drafting an unproven qb
Okay let me reword it then. If this offense was going to find success this season, Brandon Marshall was going to be a huge part of it. Better?
Nope. If what you're saying is true, they wouldn't have traded him. Your stance is basically conjecture based on how you feel. I'm pretty sure if the people making the offensive gameplan planned on Marshall being the key cog, they wouldn't have traded him.
If this is true I need to change my opinion of Barkley I really liked him but if Ireland thinks hes good my eyes must be playing tricks on me
If they would rather Devon Bess or Brian Hartline be the key cog, they should be fired and never work in the NFL again. This front office has shown NOTHING except an inability to evaluate talent or field a consistent team. Why should I have any belief that this is a good move? It's just another reason to point and laugh at us. I am NOT a gloom and doomer, never have been before today. This is the last straw, this team is an absolute joke. Still love them though.
Lol I'm 100% against the Marshall trade but If philbin feels he didn't fit whatever offensive system he wants to run I'm saying we can at least get elite talent in the draft
Ireland sucks.... There are no two ways about it, he sucked long before this ridiculous trade. He is a joke.
We would only end up messing up again like last year. We would probably go 0-10 & win our final 6 games to take ourselves out of being #1 again.
Yeah he doesn't know what he's doing. He just traded BM for the fvck of it and to piss off the fans on thephins.com and other forums. Then in his spare time, he browses them and laughs manically as he reads the comments.
to the ledge jumpers: a "#1" reciever isn't always necessary...look, we all know moore isno tombrady, but when NE was winning super bowls, who was brady's #1? ...there wasn't one...they spread the ball around, ran the ball and used a borderline dink and dunk offense to pefection..what happened when he got moss? hmm? nothing..exactly...green bay spreads it around, as do the giants..add a wr in the draft and start putting the ball all over the field...marshall became a distraction and forcing the ball to him did nothing...at least when moore started spreading it around, miami started scoring..
I...actually wouldn't put it past him. You ever see is day-timer schedule? Dude is worse than satan...seriously.
Since both subjects are being discussed in this thread, this is the one I'll reply in. If Marshall was indeed involved in an altercation and hit a woman, trading him was probably a VERY smart move. Goodell is a strict disciplinarian and Marshall would be looking at significant suspension time that would ultimately hurt anyhow. At least by trading him, we get a couple of draft picks to play around with and possibly give us some barganing power in the draft. Blackmon seems like the safe bet to try and get. Now back on topic... If Flynn is negotiating with the Browns and the Dolphins, it seems pretty much a foregone conclusion he'll sign with Miami, being reunited with his old OC, working the same offense he was trained in up in Green Bay and knowing the chances of him being selected the starter is pretty good. I keep reading all of this complaining about "rebuilding". I know Ireland is the Gm...I know Ross is the owner and player selection is their business, but does anyone really truly beliecve Joe Philbin was going to want to come down to Miami and take over with the SAME players that have produced mediocre seasons the past 3 years? Of course there's going to be some trades. Of course there's going to be some releases. Ireland and Ross hired Philbin. Now they're asking Philbin, "ok, what do you need to be successful?" Although I'm excited about the hiring of Philbin, with the seasons we've had and the division n which we play, pateince should still be everyone's watchword. We won't be in a position to contend for 3 years in my opinion.
As for BM, I believe but maybe wrong, that his next stumble will cost him a year off thus if we got 2 3's for him Ireland hit gold! As for the rest of your post I agree save the 3 year time frame, I believe, we will do it much sooner. Jm2c
I hope you're right buddy...I really do, but with the heartache I've endured over the years, I try not to hold my breath.
In the NFL today you can go from the #1 overall pick to the playoffs in a season or two if you play your cards right. Im not huge on Flynn but lets just say he is the next Schaub as far as his play goes, I see no reason we couldn't contend right away if we made the right moves around him. It's not all gloom and doom....yet.
Mary Kay Cabot @MaryKayCabot BREAKING: #Browns have not pursued GB QB Matt Flynn and reports that they're set to make offer untrue, league source tells PD. Ben Volin @BenVolinPBP And Seattle is reportedly going harder after Henne than Flynn.#Dolphins might ultimately negotiate against themselves for Flynn
If that is true then it means the report by Omar is not accurate? or perhaps he only got it half right... confusing
Thats the problem this franchise has been stuck in this mode for the last 12 years hire, fire, change parts, hire, fire change parts again. I understand that somewhere somehow this needs to change and were hoping for Philbin to be that man, but asking us to once again wait 3-4 years is basically not going to work for most of the fanbase whos tired of hearing it.
Well it appears we look bad yet again. This just in and yes It's allover PFT and Rotoworld. Cleveland Browns aren't pursuing Flynn. So we will big against ourselves to drive the price up. Way to go FRONT OFFICE....
Adam Scheffter reporting Flynn to visit Seattle tomorrow or Friday - just great - must not have liked the offer
