Plan B involved Ireland, knee pads, and Peyton Manning. Plan C had something to do with an enema.

Is that fact or your opinion?
Because I have a hard time believing that.

If he can battle with TJax for a starting job, he can battle with Matt Moore.

I'd guess he means nobody else was willing to make an offer that could come close to the ridiculous one Buffalo gave Mario.

It's Buffalo. They have to overpay.
Would you move to Buffalo for fair market value?

This would be awesome if we can land him. We already have Philbin and Sherman here. It's just perfect.

    Get it done!

Yeah, dumb statement by Lacanfora. Insinuating that Tavaris Jackson is a better QB than Moore.

At this point, I think Flynn is our beat option. He wont cost a draft pick and he will be much cheaper than Manning. Im more concerned on who we can get at WR. I seriously doubt that Blackmon falls past the Rams to #8

    FFG bringing the zinger WOW!

After all this Manning bs and everything that has happened I'm warming up to the Flynn idea.
I think we have to do something at this point.
If he runs away too then we have some serious problems to address.

I said in another thread if we don't sign Peyton Manning I'll do the same thing everyone else on this board will do. Convince myself plan B is better anyway.

    I'm conflicted with Flynn.

On one hand I feel like going the FA route with an uproven guy is something we've done before and it will prevent us from drafting a QB high for at least 2 years if he's only somewhat capable but not good enough.

On the other hand I really like the upside of a guy who tosses 6 TDs and 480 yards in one game. It would be nice to stop kidding ourselves that 175 yards and 1 or 2 TDs is a great game [cough]Matt Moore[/cough]. But I like Matt Moore so I don't want to turn this into a Matt Moore debate.

Bottom line: If we sign Flynn I'll embrace him and be excited. But I'm not getting my hopes up because the second I do he'll sign with Seattle.

Lacanfora is really a sad replacement for Adam Schefter at the NFLN. He is more wrong than correct on his "insider" info.

We'll probably get him because of Philbin. Even Ireland can't screw this one up. Not too thrilled though. I think Flynn will be a very average QB. Like Aaron Rodgers said, "A Top 15 QB".

Hopefully nothing, but the fact that Winston left with no deal doesn't look promising. Trying to recall the last time a top tier free agent ever left from a visit and came back days later to sign.

considering our previous qbs have been beaten out by backups in the "top qb" discussions, ill take top 15 with a good defense.

Why would he have to battle Jackson in Seattle, but not Moore in Miami when Moore is a far better QB than Jackson?

What I like about Flynn is we know Philbin is a big fan of important passing statistics that correlate highly with winning. He mentioned QB rating differential in his introductory press conference. I have to believe Philbin believes Flynn is a guy that at the very least will keep the TD/INT on the right side of 1. If Flynn can do that he can rack up wins.

La Canfora isn't saying t max is better than Moore.. I think the point is, the Seahawks know that Jackson came out and busted his *** for the seahawks last year, an effort that warrants AT LEAST an opportunity to compete for the starting job next year. It's this kind of attitude that seems to be lost with our dolphins. We just chase any and every qb we want with pretty much flagrant disregard for whom in our organization we are offending, and forgetting those players who are actually here, with us. I'm pretty embarrassed right now for our team and our city to be honest. It's as if everyone knows Peyton isn't coming here except us, and yet we are still all just as willing to throw MATT MOORE under the bus now even for Matt Flynn. Let's just slow down and try and keep our pride through this thing. Seattle's got the right idea. BTW, I think if Flynn was smart, he would never leave Seattle. Quality defense, optimal running game in Lynch, good wr core in sidney rice, doug baldwin, mike williams, and a workable offensive line. Most IMPORTANTLY, he probably feels confident that he wouldn't be tossed aside as soon as something shinier comes along. I'm sick to my stomach.

    I don't think it's unbelievable.

All William's agent had to say to perspective GM's was that the Bills were preparing to offer 50 million in guaranteed money on a $100 million contract. If no one wanted to match that, he wasn't leaving Buffalo.

I just read on a seahawks forum that some local radio station has reported that "Flynn has already left Seattle and is on a plane headed for Miami".... Just a rumor at this point, but let's hope it holds water!

interesting if its true. I was counting on him being in Seattle for 2 days so manning would hopefully make a decision before Flynn heads to miami

While I personally like the move, All I could think when I read your post was why don't they just come out and say since the fans have had to just settle we decided to show our support and just settle for Flynn as well.

Again I like him, FOR THIS SYSTEM i can't think of anyone else that could come in immediately and know the system like FLYNN this should give us a head start on the rebuilding process and when whoever signs Peyton is looking at rebuilding again within 2 years we will be in the playoffs year in and out..

Can't possibly happen, why? Because Ireland just blows at signing significant players who might put this team into the mix for actually having a winning season.

I would like to sign Flynn and Winston, draft Blackmon at 8 or the best pass rusher available there. But Jeff reads this board late at night and plots how much he can foil our hopes and dreams, I'm certain of it.

So you're saying we shouldn't go for Flynn because there's a QB out there right now, that we have a shot at, that will be better than "Top 15"?

    Settling? How is that settling?
    1. he's right, i'd take top 15 Period.... and it was meant more as a good thing when said by Arod then a negative thing.... Hate the fact it got twisted... ridic.
    2. Because obviously the class of tangibles QBs with the draft and FA at this point is just OH SO FULL OF TALENT

regardless I don't think picking one of Philbins own is settling, if you want to consider it settling because of Manning?...........eh....... even then meh.

How is is settling? Flynn is regarded as a young, up and coming QB. Someone who could be the franchise QB. That's exactly what we should be doing.

    C'mon son.

I just don't see any of the rookies Miami has a chance of drafting as having the same kind of upside as a guy who tossed 6 TDs in an NFL game. I don't care if it was against a weak secondary.
