Hello, all. Long time Dolphins fan.

Here are some things I've noticed about our Dolphins this season:

    1. The Dolphin's offense has improved over the course of the season, and it's much better with Beck under center.

    2. Ted Ginn, Jr. has proven that he was worth the #9 pick.

    3. The defense has got to improve. The D-Line is very old, so are the Linebackers. Joey Porter is slowly getting to his "Pro Bowl form," and playing like he was worth the $$$$ he received. The Corners and Safeties are weak.

    4. Many players are being "played out of position."

    5. Most of the games this season have been lost by 3 points. The exceptions are Dallas (lost by 17); Oakland (lost by 18); Cleveland (lost by 10); New England (lost by 19); and Philadelphia (lost by 10). 54% of our games have been lost by 3.

    6. I think the 'Fins will finish 4-12.

    7. Cam Cameron should NOT be fired, but he needs to hire a new GM and OC.

    8. Dom Capers's defense is still good, but they are OLD and TIRED.

    9. The 'Fins need to add a decent TE (Martin is more of a blocker than a receiver).

    10. Trading for Trent Green was a bad move.

    11. The personnel should have kept Daunte Culpepper.

    12. Would drafting Brady Quinn have made a difference?

    13. The Rams will have the #1 pick in the draft.

Thoughts? I know most of these have been discussed before.

Cameron doesn't have the authority to hire/fire the GM. Furthermore, why should Randy Mueller be fired after his first year as a true GM? He's given us easily our best draft of the decade--using Nick Saban's scouting system, for crying out loud.

Quite the opposite. Martin is a receiver, not a blocker. That's what he was brought in for, and it's why Green Bay didn't want him to leave in the first place: they thought he would be yet another solid target for Favre.

No, it wasn't. It was a great move. Who the hell else was going to run Cameron's offense in the huddle?

Uh, then why did Trent Green struggle? He's on IR, and he's gone after the season.

    1. Professional football teams don't fire coaches over one season.

    2. Ginn is great at returning...I'd like to see him be a WR. PRs can be drafted late. if we drafted a PR/KR at #9 overall, we done screwed the pooch. I'm hopeing his family shows up to block right directly.

    3. This defense all of a sudden went to ****. Expain that. "Old" doesn't get it."

    4. I like Beck alot. he takes care of the ball. Now....In one to two year that will be.."He's afraid to make the throws"......but whatever.

Well, the defense's problems can't be fully explained. Last season, they had something they now don't. I don't know what that is....wish I did.

He struggled because he's old, not because he's ignorant. And don't tell me he was worse than Cleo Lemon. The offense was demonstrably better under Trent than it was under Cleo. And now Trent is on the sidelines at every game, functioning as an unofficial assistant QB coach to help Beck acclimate to the NFL--which is a primary reason he was traded for in the first place.

Trent is doing exactly what is expected of him, and I honestly see him being the QB coach next year.

I am a pretty big homer, but while I'm encouraged by things Ginn and Beck have done, it is way too early to say Ginn has proven he is worth the #9 pick and it is just factually incorrect to say the offense is better under Beck. The conditions and losing Chambers is a major factor, but the offense hasn't scored a point in two straight games under Beck while they were scoring in the high 20's earlier in the season.

If you think the Beck and Ginn picks were so good, then why would you want Mueller to be fired. He was the one who made those picks after all.

I don't see how anyone can say Trent Green was a bad move. If we knew he was going to get hurt then of course it was a bad move, but you can't expect that. Even with him coming off a concussion, any player would have gotten one after getting kneed in the head by a 300 lb man.

Why would keeping Culpepper have been a good move? He hasn't done much in Oakland.

You must be thinking of some other team named the Dolphins. These are our points scored on offense over the season:
    13
    20
    28
    17
    19
    31
    28
    10
    10
    0
    0

Exactly how are we improving on offense? We haven't done crap since Green and Brown went down. I like what I've seen from Beck, but it hasn't translated into points yet. We've been shut out 2 games in a row for god sakes.

I couldn't really read the rest of the article after the statement "Dolphins offense is improved under Beck" . . . we haven't scored a offensive TD in 2 games . . . . matter fact, we haven't scored ANY offensive points (including FG) in 2 games . . . both under Beck.

Now I like what I see from Beck, as far as improved composure, quick decisions and lack of turnovers . . . but I wanna see some points damnit. I know its not all his fault that his coach has crippled the playcalling for him and he played in tough conditions 2 weeks in a row . . . but I am expecting alot this Sunday.

Actually, Green played exactly like he did after returning to KC last year. He was terrible under the exact same offense that Huard had excelled in.
He was absolutely putrid this year. He was playing so much like a rookie instead of the "seasoned veteran" that we were supposed to get that I wondered "why not just start Beck, he could be any worse, and at least he'll have the excuse that he's a rookie".
The offensive line has played a lot better, but Green had plenty of time to throw. He is terrified out there and doesn't want to take a hit.
