Good coaching has squeezed out every drop of talent in Alex Smith. There is a reason they are going for the more talented, but older QB. Smith has the Matt Moore effect; Good year, but that's about as high as he can possibly go. Good enough to win, but not to win it all.

Those numbers tell very little. 49s passing offense was very conservative, very riskfree. They made a gameplan that placed Smith in a situation where he could take very few risks and just manage the game.

As I said, good coaching brought out the best version of Alex Smith. I'm not sure he can give you much more than that.

 

I see nothing wrong with the statement because it's true. If he would of played like how he got there, they would of won the game for sure. He didn't make the key plays that he did all year & like how he did in the end in the game against the Saints.

 

If only we played in the NFCW.

Yeah, IMO he's better than nothing but at the same time he might not be good enough to where we're not looking to replace him given the opportunity. I'm just hoping we can get the right pieces around him to allow him to succeed ya know, Pandas.
