So I am on twitter, *****ing like everyone else about Flynn not signing here.

I think deeper, maybe we didnt think Flynn was worth that much, if anyone knows its us (philbin).

but then I think, it's not that simple, nothing ever is with this front office. Whatever the fans/media have thought was the right move for us, Ireland has mostly gone the opposite direction.

Flynn, however raw, knew the offense front and back, would immediately draw some sort of respect, being so detail oriented in the new system, and would come in immediately as the starter.

Fast forward to today, the seahawks sign him for a decent contract (meet-able for us) and we are left wondering, WTF!?

Peter King comes out and says his dad told him Flynn liked the all around "feeling" of the Seahawk building. Everyone was on the same page, up-and-up and everything meshed better for him.

Is Ireland butting heads with Philbin? Reports were than Ireland wanted McCoy and Ross wanted Philbin......is this a internal battle already?

Then part of me wonders if Flynn really has "it". A lot of us said, before free agency, if anyone knows Flynns worth its Philbin, so I have to think if he broke the doors down claiming Flynn was "can't miss" and our "franchise qb" of the future, he'd be a dolphin today.......then Ryan Clark happened.......

    "I can't believe I almost signed there"

"Can't trust the guy running that team! #GM"

    (Paraphrasing)

Put that together with everything Channing Crowder has extensively said publicly about how awful Ireland is, and it hit me.

The Miami Dolphins are a complete JOKE to the rest of the NFL. Long ago are the days where Miami was a free agent paradise.....no state taxes, great tradition, great weather, usually always a good team only a few pieces away.

Today we have back ups spurning us to compete with Tavaris Jackson for less money. Now we have Alex ****ing Smith, waiting, and potentially taking less money to BACK UP Peyton Manning on a team he lead to the NFC Championship game 3 months ago, rather than be a starter for the Miami Dolphins.

What happened? How hasnt Carl Peterson said "hey, Ross, your GM is a laughing stock among the players" yet?!

In this day and age where word/news/rumors/jokes spread like wildfire with twitter/facebook/texting etc.....its no wonder, the young, highly sought players today want nothing to do with a Parcells wanna-be. Low balling, tough questions, hard-*** business man approach.

It's 2012....these guys want to be coddled. They want attention, they want to be treated like kings. It's not 1986 anymore where these guys "respect" a hardass that tells it like it is. These guys have been recruited, pampered, showered since middle school.....they want big offers, rims, 40s, women and money. They don't want to be beaten down and brought up in some 1st time GMs "thought process" on how a player should be.

Channing Crowder, however over rated, played under, grew under and learned under one of the most respected, game-educated players in our generation (zach thomas) and he despises the ground Ireland walks on, he just doesnt do business right.

Now Crowder isnt mister bling-bling, hes not all about 100k bottles of Crystal, and parties....the guy wrestles wild boars in the offseason, he wants to be respected....and dammit, he would rather not play the game he loves then play for this clown.

Ireland is ruining the miami dolphins franchise, and he could potentially ruin Philbins young, promising HC career......

    He needs to go.

meh there is nothing wrong with rooting for your team even if they suck I went to many Marlins and heat games over the years when they were terrible. I don't go to many dolphin games though mostly because I rather watch NFL games on tv.

I must've missed where Flynn passed on more money to play for Seattle, or where Alex Smith said he'd rather be a back-up to Manning than start here.

I always cringe when ESPN or other media outlets give our team no credit. I look at it and call them "bias" or just write it off because we just aren't a "sexy" team.

    Looks like they were right.

Joke: How many QB visits and contract offers does it take for the Dolphins to sign a QB in 2012?

Answer: We don't know, they ran out of QBs...looks like we will have to draft one.

I thought before the start of last year I was frustrated with the strike and the Dolphins keeping Tony and Jeff that I cancelled my direct tv after 12 years, but right I am just beside myself, and I just feel this organization is just spinning out of control. If it's not coaches, its players using us to boast up there contracts, and then turn around and go somewhere else. I wish Ross would sell the team, and the new owner would Jeff Ireland right away. I was going to get direct tv back this year, but after this I am leaning towards not spending the money. It is very sad the current state of the Dolphins. We were once a proud organization, but now we are the laughing stock of the league.

Right now, I am wishing we jut kept the offense we had and roll with Bowles, Daboll, Moore, Marshall and Bush. It was a pretty explosive offense despite what many people think. I especially liked Daboll and his ability to utilize his weapons.

Its time to slow play the QB process, we dont have competition anymore so no need to rush anything. I think its the media whipping up an emotional rollercoaster more than anything that hurts the Dolphins...

I feel ya man. I have had the nfl ticket since the day it came out. These past few years have been brutal. I have noticed I have been doing more and more thing after church like going out to eat with the fam or yardwork etc. etc. I used to fly home and be glued to the set. Hell even in our 1-15 season I didn't miss a second. Sure I turned the channels when we were getting blown out but I was there from the opening kickoff. Now, I just don't give a crap when I get there. When my wife talks about buying me gifts I tell her "no dolphins stuff" lol Is that not pitiful? I have been a fan of the dolphins since I was 11. I am now 31. Ya know I used to sit back and talk about how bad I felt for some of these franchises. (Saints, Lions, Browns) Well now it's hard to believe but we are those franchises now. Who would have thought?

Ya know I had no clue if Flynn would have been worth 2 craps or not but at least he would have given us some type of hope. Guess it will be back to yardwork and lunch with the fam on sundays. sigh..........

Sorry to get on my soapbox but it is what it is....

You know at least some of you guys got to see this team be great. That is why I hate all of this complaining and moaning. By the time I really started to understand football and really watch we were in the Fiedler years. Sure we had a few good ones....all ending in heartbreak and disappointment, followed shortly by the worst stretch in franchise history. If I can not complain I don't see why some of you guys can't.

I know I'm regarded as an Ireland fanboy, even though all I ever asked for is facts.

    I still haven't gotten any.

I've gotten cryptic things like Clark's tweet or Flynn's vibe. Nothing specific.

But I don't care anymore. I want him gone just so people can STFU. I don't know anymore about him today then I did 3 days ago, none of us actually do.

The media was wrong at every single turn with regards to us and Manning and it started before he was even released. At that time, as far as the media swore, we were the preferred destination of the biggest FA QB ever. Yet now the same media that was so damn wrong about that, tells us no one wants to come here. How exactly were we good enough for the King of the NFL one day and the worst franchise in the history of the world, the next? Its ridiculous. Everyone is so ready to believe it even though there's no facts, just speculation.

This is exactly like the vilifying of the 72 team.

No one had a problem with the champagne toast for decades. They used to have cameras capture it. Then all of a sudden, one year it changed. One reporter said it was evil because he was trying to promote himself or he was Jason Cole. Other reporters quoted or referred to the article, until even more reporters have seen enough references that now just call it "whispers around the league" or "where there's smoke, there's fire". Next thing you know even Dolphin fans start acting like it is ridiculous. What changed? Not a damn thing.

Now we have people who are frustrated because of decades of failure, and want to believe the vitriol about our FO. Everything that happens is filtered through the hate prism.

So fine. Haters win, I hope they fire Ireland soon, because the fans are feeding this **** storm and this is now self perpetuating.

Hate to ruin it for you but Alex Smith will not be the answer. Sure he had a solid year last year, but the Defense was incredible. He didn't have to worry about putting up a ton of points against the likes of a Tom Brady led squad. He played against the likes of the Seahawks Rams and Cards. He will not have the luxury over here. And oh yeah by the way he acutally had a few recievers to throw to. We have crap.....Sure Davone Bess is one of the best slot guys out there, but what's the use in him if you don't have some guys on the outside..

Ireland is a joke more or less, but I will say this about Flynn at least. If $10 mill guaranteed is all it took to land him, don't you think we would've done that and even more if they really felt he was the answer? Don't you think Philbin would've went to Ross and begged him to overrule Ireland, if that's what it would take. I gotta believe if that's all it took to get him, then we would've done so if we thought he was the guy. Because of this, I'm thinking Flynn is no big loss.

Doesn't take Ireland off the hot seat, or anything like that, but I'm not so sure this one decision is wrong.

I don't have really any answers, but i must say i'm extremely shocked and dissapointed how the past two years of personnel management has been handled with our Dolphins. the worst part is you have a few internal pieces leaving like Langford and Marshall. And you have various people in different stages in their career deciding to go somewhere else, like Manning, Flynn, Manningham.

The part that troubles me the most is what are the guys who are on the team now thinking? How will this personnel attitude shape their UFA years. Will Jake sign here when his deal is up? He'll get money from any team. So there will have to be something more keeping him here.

Matt Moore? Basically we shopped for every FA QB in the league and didn't land any. How's he feeling these days? does he want to play for Ireland? Doubt it.

    Bess? Pouncy? Davis? Wake?

We could be losing some very talented players if this attitude continues in the coming years. If it is in fact Ireland causing this sentiment, Ross needs to dispose of him ASAP. Or the Dolphins need a new owner.

I guess it really does start from the top down.

If we didn't think Flynn was the answer, and the money wasn't the issue, then why was he brought in for an interview. To tell him in person the media reports of us being "interested in him" are false? We were intersted. The only logical answers...he was concerned how this team was being run or our offer was insultingly low or we didn't make an offer after the visit and let him go to seattle to check it out.

A common rule in FA, if your guy comes in for an interview and you want him, don't let him get on a plane until he signs an offer.

Whatever happend, it wasn't because of the money and it wasn't because we didn't think he was our guy.

For all we know Seattle offered him the job outright and we said he had to compete. Or we both offered him the job but were not willing to pay what they did simply because we didn't feel he was worth it.

Every FA who doesn't sign here doesn't hate us.

That is what I don't get. The Dolphins are meeting with these free agent players for almost over 5 hours and nothing comes of it, after meeting with management these free agents end up signing somewhere else or knock them out their list of teams..

I'm not sure what you're looking for. You choose to not consider anything valid. Media outlets are crucifying us and Irish. Fans are crucifying us and Irish. Former Dolphins are crucifying us and Irish. Free Agents who passed on us are crucifying us and irish. Even Peyton Manning and Flynn, have busted on us, telling outlets that Miami is "not a good vibe", or "nice to visit not to play at." Both comments are lies, and complete fabrications? At this point, I'm curious regarding those who support him. It's like a hotdog eating contest. How much irish can you stand to swallow?
