And that's precisely the problem. This approach isn't going to fly in 2012. It might sit well with a couple of hardcore fans who hate "the media" anyway; but it's not going to sit well with the majority. You can't do PR the way Bill Parcells did in 1985 anymore. I don't really like this reality anymore than you do, but the Dolphins are a prime example of what happens when you ignore that reality: a laughing stock. And they only have themselves to blame.
Ryan Clark is a good player so is he not a good source? Better ten what we have for sure. Like I said I didn't really want him or Bryant or Channing but when it's more then a player or two and its public...we have a very real problem. I don't have proof of other players feeling the same way but you can be sure there were a few that handled their feelings better then those three but the fact that it's out there publicly hurts the dolphins. Like it or not, and I don't, this is the way it is.
Disagree. And I do hate the media that I've mentioned. If people learned that they're full of **** plenty of the time and are always looking to pass anything off for a story, then they wouldn't be in hysterics over some of the things that've been spread around.
Like I said, they either need a new one badly or they badly need to listen to the old one. Either way, they're doing it textbook wrong, unfortunately.
Hmmm. Are you sure it's "his fans" that are causing all the problems? It's not at all the Tebow haters huh? LOL. Just how do all those fans create tension?
So that's one good player. And this is his opinion: Now you tell me, does that sound like an intelligent opinion to you? This hurts the Dolphins about as much as ESPN running a story how we missed on Manning, yet Arizona and Tennessee didn't.
And if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle. They pass of anything as a story because people want stories. You won't change this simple fact. But you can, to a certain degree, control what stories they are passing off. If you chose not to, then you're doing a very bad PR job.
Is this really happening? Not even asking figuratively, I am asking literally... Are people really going to gather/protest? When and Where? and is there a link anywhere? I am really curious...
It's twitter dude! They only give you 160 characters to make your point. You're not going to read freakin Tolkien on there bro. Even smart people come across a bit weird IMO on there.
Your aunt can't grow her own sack if she feels like it. People can hold the journalism to a higher standard by simply not putting so much stock in what they have to say while taking creative liberties.
Weird? How about dumb people just sound dumb. He almost went there BUT it was easy not to. Yea, it was that damn twitter that made him sound stupid.
It really doesn't matter if his opinion is intelligent. Football players - and prospective free agents - are hardly the stuff post graduate doctorates are made off. They'll buy it just like everyone else. Maybe even more so because it's their career and money on the line. I really have no idea if Ireland actually is the kind of douche one might think he is, based on stuff like that. But I also wouldn't be surprised if a free agent didn't take the chance. Bad rep is bad rep, whether you deserved it or not.
Disagree. Great football players are often the most intelligent ones on the field. Are there talented idiots? Sure, but I certainly wouldn't say they're anywhere near the majority. It takes more than Ryan Clark spurning us to resign w/the team he's always been with to make me think his opinion of Ireland is anyones but his own.
You know, I do like the fact that you're simply disagreeing with reality. Doesn't make you right, of course, but it does make you kinda cool. Like House.
I forgot the reality that you personally know the hundreds of thousands of NFL players and their respective opinions on one Jeff Ireland. Is it like Matrix where you just upload the information or is there a juiji board involved? Seriously, this is nitpicking now. We both agree the PR/Media situation blows.
Jeez. I'm making you a compliment and you go all Jumanji on me. Whatever happened to the good, old-fashioned "thanks mate".
If I lived down there I would join, but in reality you can't fire him until after the draft. After that bon voyage.
lol My bad. I just believe that the fans COULD get smarter and help change the way the media and everyone else views us. Now don't ask me what I think the odds of that happening are bc they're uglier than Buffalo's cheerleaders.
Disagree. Dan Marino and Zach Thomas were about as dumb as human beings can be. But as smart as any football player ever.
Actually, we're more like the girl who used to be really hot but now has a huge pimple right in the middle of her forehead that just won't go away.
That's what some here would have you believe. Some guys here are like pigs being lead to slaughter.....
It shows that we're sick of this team being run by morons. Would you prefer it if I vomited rainbows and crapped sunshine?
State of the Franchise on Nfl network: Joey Porter and Sapp said you can't believe a word that comes out of Irelands mouth. Sapp stated especially after the Dez Bryant situation. goes to show you the guy is a clown.
The two biggest **** talkers to ever play the game, are bagging on Ireland for the Dez Bryant thing? Wait, lemme guess, Ireland didn't have a beer with them.
Agreed. The fact that there's so many of these so called fans that cheer on mediocrity and don't care about becoming a great team again, real embarrassment. We need less cheerleaders in this fanbase, and more realists.
I would prefer you did something better with your time. Edit: The opposite of crazy isn't a different type of crazy
Resigning Soliai was good and I love the Philbin hire, but I agree that this offseason has been underwhelming. But I'm also not panicking because it's still mid-March.
