Not very happy in the moves or should I say non moves that the Fins have done in free agency. Some re-signings have me scratching my head. Dont really understand why release our leading tackler Yerimiah Bell just to free up 4 mil in cap space. He was a good vocal defensive leader who commanded respect from the WR in the AFC East. That move made no sense to me. We re-signed steve slaton the cast off who has done nothing but fumble and had like 48 rushing yards total last season. When we could have signed a nice speed back in the draft to complement Thomas and Eventually be the successor when Bush is Done. We passed on manning, flynn, alex smith, and thank God we didnt get tebow no pun intended. The one year signing of Garrard at least gave me a glimmer of hope that we are more than likely gonna pursue a QB in the draft. But now you have the O-Line, a decent pass rusher, and most importantly we have no 1 or 2 WR at all. So whats up with then. I REALLY hope Ireland and Ross have a plan id hate to be on the outside looking in again. We havent been to a superbowl since I was born in 85 so Id like some type of happiness for once.
Thankfully you said Clemons and not Jones. I am not a fan of Jones but I felt like Clemons was screwed over by last year's coaching staff.
Chris Clemons? Wasn't he the one who was horribly burned for a TD vs the Pats? I think it was Welker?
Well, there was no doubt that Father Time had caught up to Bell. As good as he has been and even that he played well at times last year, it simply wasn't worth keeping him on at that cost. It could very well be that he's back, but that move is one that pretty much most of us have been figuring to happen. If there is anything to complain about, the timing of the move was surprising...unless they made the move originally to free up enough room for Smith ?? I don't know but Bell's age has shown thru his play, especially last year... Who is this speed back you refer to that we could have gotten for the same cost as Slaton ?? Slaton is a reliable guy to back up our younger guys and might fit better in this WCO than he did in our vertical O of last year... Manning, Flynn and likely Smith all passed on us, we didn't pass on them. Don't count your chickens on Tebow, he hasn't been released or traded yet ( and I agree, I'm Tebowing now praying we don't get him)... I'm not much of a Garrard fan, but there wasn't a lot of choices left for us anyway. I don't think he's an upgrade over MMoore, but I think he could step in if needed during the season. I do question his ability in the WCO...he doesn't exactly fit, but I guess beggars can't be choosers... We certainly have holes to fill but we also have some guys on the roster who might be able to fill a couple of those spots...and as has been mentioned, we're still less than a week into FA...let's see how things shake out before we hang anyone in effigy... However if your post was intended to show that you have no idea what the 'plan' is coming from Davie...well, I think about 95% of us have to agree with you... EDIT: Where are my manners...welcome to the board...!!!
I'm no thread expert but don't we have a rant section for this stuff to help keep the mains less cluttered?
If the bears want to give us two thirds for our rant section I'm pretty sure I can convince muck to do that. The one thing Ireland does reasonably well is draft and since we need all the help we can get.... As a sweetener, I'll throw in this thread with the rants just so the bears can get their money worth.
If they bump it up to a 1st and 3rd. Lucky is good peoples so Im not trading him that easily. On the other hand, If they take Todds they only have to give us a 4th and 7th Joking todd
