live per NFL Network right now. We already knew Manning wasn't coming here, but it's in the process of being finalized right now. I want no part of Tebow mania infiltrating this team, organization, and fan base like the plague that it is, no offense to Tebow and UF fans.
Saw in the Smith thread that he is still seriously considering Miami. I really hope that is true, and really hope I am right about what he can bring to the table. Let's get it done and move forward....F Manning.
Guess that would also mean Alex Smith likely stays in San Fran, which means Tannehill likely becomes our #1 priority, which is ok with me b/c he's the best franchise-hopeful QB outside of Manning IMO.
Is this before or after learning of Manning? TBH, right now I'm ambivalent about Smith and Tannehill. I like Smith's ability to help us win now while saving our #1 pick to use elsewhere, and I still feel Alex has some untapped potential left, but I also like Tannehill's overall ceiling better despite needing some time to develop.
Honestly not sure, but the exact words were "Smith is still seriously considering the Miami Dolphins if they are serious about him." Leads me to believe perhaps the other report was BS. After all your team just tried to replace you. Who is to say they won't again?
Maybe it's possible. But I'd only want him here if it's b/c his heart's in it rather than Ross persuading him with an offer he simply couldn't refuse.
WOW thats a stretch.. Its funny how we are now forcing ourselves to believe Tannehill is in no way a sure fire QB. In fact I would say hes Henne 2.0 check out his scouting report. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SF54CeamI7k Just we need to waste our #8 on another inconsistent QB project.
I think the absolute highest ceiling for Tannenhill is what Joe Flacco is right now, and that is if he pans out 100%.
By whom? you and a random wannabe profiler? Forgotten disclaimer from your post: In.your.uneducated.opinion. I'm not "forcing anything" buddy. Others and myself have liked Tannehill and viewed him as a top talent long before the past few weeks. !!Oh no, not one random armchair scouting report!! I could drum up and old one that calls Peyton Manning a potential bust, so what's your trolling point?
I respectfully disagree. I could be completely wrong but in my eyes Tannehill has better feet than the leggy Flacco who needs more time [due to his height and long legs] to properly set & square his feet and adjust to pressure which will understandably impact the short passing game, certain timing routes, and his efficiency outside of his first couple progressions IMO. That's why I'm against drafting extremely tall QBs b/c they have a disadvantage to overcome, and we rarely see it happen. Tannehill's feet don't have to cover as much ground to set, reset, & square up to his targets, and IMO they're quicker than Flacco's, so IMO if he can hone his mechanics and footwork, I believe he has the ability to be effective in all three aspects (short, intermediate, and long) with enough repetition. His mechanics are obviously a little sloppy right now due to inexperience and need refinement, but IMO there are throws where his mechanics do look good, and when this occurs I happen to like how the ball comes out as well as the velocity and accuracy. Plus he has the good, quick hips capable of generating a lot of torgue to where he can focus on compacting his delivery to both quicken his release and improve his efficiency without losing velocity IMO. I would've taken you for a Tannehill fan with his great roll out ability and threat to throw on the run.
I like his physical ability. I just don't like that he is so far from bringing it all together. Being Joe Flacco isn't a terrible thing per se either. I'd take Joe Flacco right now as I'm sure many of us would. I don't mean that his game will be the same as Flacco....rather that I think his success would be similar.
I agree, no Tebow! I cheered him on last season, mainly because you just cant help but to like the guy but I dont want him here.
Uh yeah I can help but like the guy. He is pretty much a walking example of not only a bad QB but everything that is wrong with the world, and no I'm not joking. I won't get into a religious debate in the main forums but he exemplifies everything wrong with the world.
