I am tired of hearing how people say this player or that player , coach ect.... dont want to go to Miami because they are in the afc east and thats brady's division and if TEBOW goesto the jets we dolphin fans will will this crap all the time and the tebow thing is being shoved down our throats just like the excuses the sports people give for Miami losing . I know dolphin fans are scared ofchanges but i think changes is whatmiami need andhere is why. #1 ecconomical reasons if we were in the afc south we might be defensivly at more of a atvanage becuase we havent played the afc south rivials as much so we could have a small atvanage. #2 this reason isnt based on logic bt just a desire to get away from the crooked division aided by espn. #3 if it was me i would put Indy in the east and put Miami int he south then Miami can come closer to me here and I can go see my fins more ok that was selfish . another advantage iswe can delevope a rivialry with Jacksonville. i was doing this thing for several reasons iwont get into.
It was never a problem for 25 years when we dominated the division and stomped mud holes in the Pats, Jets, Bills, and Colts.
Miami is farther east than Indianapolis or any other team that could be moved. The Steelers or Ravens are the most logical choices for geographic compactness, but there is way too much tradition in the way of that. Having Miami in the AFC East makes a hell of a lot more sense than having the Chiefs or Rams in the AFC or NFC West. In the NFC it is funny that the easternmost team in the West is farther east than the westernmost team in the East.
This is a silly notion what legacy is left in Miami it's was in the Afc East. The only team we didn't beat in the Afc East last year was the Patriots and we actually came pretty close to pulling it off. We can play and should stay in the Afc East.
I, for one, am proud that the Dolphins are in a tough division. And I enjoy beating the Jets too much.
and once we get back to owning the division it will be that much enjoyable after 2 decades of suffering. At least with the AFCE I can say I truly hate the Jets and Patsies, the rest of the league are just teams that the Phins play now and again.
Is this seriously a thread topic? because we have a tough division you want to move? I love the challenge of facing the Pats twice a year because it helps gauge where we are at. Before the 2000's was it a problem when we were dominating this division?
I BET YOU SAY ABOUT EVERY THREAD ? sorrry man i couldnt resist. i dont see anything wrong with tying something new . PLus I all Tebowed out.
What is it that is oft said? I think it's to be the best you have to beat the best? This thread is akin to say South Carolina fans wanting to leave the SEC for the ACC because the competition is too hard. Tough cookies. My objective (as far away as it seems) is to win a Super Bowl. Changing divisions wouldn't change the prospects for that.
actually guys i am just ribbing you sort of , i dont mean we just move i meant if we were asked to move that was what i waas trying to say but i left that part out.
Seriously... We are 56-39-1 vs the Bills, 50-43 vs the Pats, and 44-48-1 vs the Jets. Note vs the Jets, we are 5-2 in the last 7 meetings vs them. The Jets closed the gap thanks to a run starting in 98 that into the first meeting in 2008 where they went 17-4 vs us. Before that stretch it was 35-29-1 in favor of us. And those that think it is THAT unfair being in the same division with NE need to be reminded that it is a 15-7 run that they are on since they Brady was installed as the starter. Even with that 15-7 we still are up 7 all-time vs the Patriots. So yes, that means we were 43-28 B.B (Before Brady) vs New England. Colts don't matter anymore as a division foe, but yeah....we are 46-24 all time vs them as well. Buffalo...32-22 vs them since they started becoming a threat in 1987, and we are 13-11 vs them since 2000. At one point we win 20 in a row over Buffalo, never losing to them in the 70's and were 24-1 vs them over a 25 game stretch.
We beat the Bills so bad they tore their goal posts down and cut them up in the parking lot after the game when they won. The peices we selling for $20. Man did I get razed.....all dressed in my Miami attire. I think I was 12 at the time.......memories http://www.profootballhof.com/history/release.aspx?release_id=2970
This was logically what they would've done, but at the time of realignment we were fresh off of our 10 year rivalry with Buffalo, and or Jets rivalry was still strong. The Colts never really had rivalries like that because they sucked for the most part. I bet the NFL almost regrets that decision because they could've had years of Brady v. Manning 2 times a year. But I digress. Switching divisions now I don't believe would ever happen, and I'm glad. To be the best you gotta beat the best. Plus, once Brady's gone the Pats will decline. The Jets are going to be bad for years if Sanchize stays, and the Bills ensured mediocrity with the contract they gave Fitz last year. I'm not so worried.
Plus things are looking up for you guys. Why leave when you can stick around and become the cream of the crop?
