I agree. Everyone is very quick to start bee-bopping and scatting all over Ireland.

Wait I remember the reasoning now. It was all Nolan. Nolan was why our defense was good, Ireland didn't get good players Nolan is just some sort of defensive coordinating god who made a phoenix rise from the ashes of our defensive roster

Adam Schein eh. The last time I committed to listening to his Sirius Radio show was in 2008. I remember we were heading to New England and he was absolutely laughing at how brutally we were going to get killed. Of course we introduced the Wildcat and the rest of that game and season was history. Boy as the season progressed he kept Dolphin talk to a minimum.

Point being - these idiots can say what they want now because no games are being played and potential atonement and accountability is so far away. They tend to gloss over the fact we won 6 of our last 9 games with a very questionable head coach. Do you honestly think they'll take back any of what they have said if 6 of our last 9 continues? Of course not - they'll just focus on what a bully Ireland is and slow down on the incompetent rhetoric.

I think it comes down to two simple facts.

    1) People fear things they don't understand
    2) When people get angry they look for someone to blame for what is making them angry.

In other words people don't know (understand) what the plan Ireland has set in place is and so they fear that either he does not have one, that it has already failed, or that it will fail. Then you have the fact that people are angry that this team has not succeeded to the degree they want as of late. This means they look for the easiest person to blame.

So you are saying Miami is just in the habit of flying in QBs for a visit and offering them a contract when they don't want the QB? Interesting...

Next week we might offer a contract to a LB b/c he's a great special teamer. Does that mean we think he's the next Pat Willis?

There are different degrees of "want" by the way.
Imagine it as going to a brothel (not that I've ever been). You're obviously looking for some booty which is why you go. You see a woman who's not the hottest there but seems good enough to meet your needs & budget, so you pull her aside and ask how much. She tells you 250 but you simply can't see spending more than 200 b/c at her asking price you'd rather wait and see what else walks down the stairs due to the appealing possibilities you hypothetically viewed on their website. :shifty:

Yes, that trade of two 2nds for Marshall followed by trading Marshall for two 3rds is definitely "building through the draft."

The guy could care less about whether Ireland shares anything with the media. He's just expressing the fact that we have a dysfunctional front office.

Gas prices change. Hell the price of EVERYTHING changes. Sometimes things go up and sometimes down. Players can do things to hurt their stock just like a company. Punching a woman in the face hurt the stock of Brandon Marshall.

At first I hated the trade with passion. Then I calmed down and woke up the next day...

    1) I understand last year we sucked BIG TIME.
    2) I was angry and looking to blame someone because he, they DID in fact fail!
Has not succeeded to the degree "they want"? So Im supposed to be happy with 6 wins?
The easiest person to blame or the right person to blame? Ireland should have went with Sparano. Both were equally responsible.
It starts from the top down. So who was I supposed to blame? Damn you G.W. Bush!!!

We sucked due to poor coaching, not talent. Aside from the offensive line we were actually pretty solid. You just end up losing a lot of games when you are stupid enough to let your linebackers cover WR's. (Wake on Santonio) and are happy to run the ball first and second down and then throw either a long incompletion or a short dump off 8 yards short of the marker.

I put full blame on Sparano and his staff honestly. You can give the best ingredients but if the chef sucks you will have a nasty dinner.

yes, but we also have to remember who decide to extend Sparanos's contract...
probably it would have been better to fire him after the 3rd season (well, here I am, Captain Obvious :pointlol: )

I think all this hate comes from Ireland's lack of people skills, and failure of finding a franchise QB (like it's so damn easy). He keeps everything close and in house, which derives from his Parcells philosophy. But IMO he's a good talent evaluator when it comes to scouting and picking players but I just think we need someone close to him and Ross that can help tweak his theory up a little bit. By taking more of a risk on a play maker. I am hoping Philbin's that guy. All of a sudden these journalists hear a little story and they think they know everything about what goes on inside the FO of an NFL organization. I'm just kinda hopin' they have a plan in place and we don't look like bums out there finishing in 4th place in the division. Man it sicks being a fan of a team that hasn't had stability in the FO or quarterback position since I've been a real fan.

It will get better, how bad can it get . . . It will get better, how bad can it get . . . It will get better, how bad can it get . . . It will get better, how bad can it get . . . It will get better, how bad can it get . . . It will get better, how bad can it get . . .

No one cares about lack of people skills or keeping things in house. If you win, you get a pass. If you don't win, you are held responsible. That goes for GM and coach.

If they win in the future, Ireland will get credit.

7-9, 7-9, 6-10 does not reflect talent. "Oh, it's bad coaching." No doubt that contributed, but Ireland's issues are right there. If you are running an organization you have to have people on board and pumped who respect you and want to be a part of it.
