lol...I'd bet that most scouts are wrong more than they are right. However, if raf was a scout I definitely like to here his take on Tanny.

That's a poor scouting report IMO. No offense to the guy but it sounds like it's being read off a notecard and was compiled by piecing together other scouting reports, only changing the wording to prevent plagiarism issues. lol.

I'd give the odds about 7% chance we pass on him, give or take 7%. :shifty:

Very slim we pass on him but still possible. IMO the only way that happens is if they fall in love with a guy like Cousins and are excited about that freeing up their 1st rounder.

I still think he'll be there if we trade down to the middle of the draft. We pick up a second and Tannehill is not much of a reach. And if he's not there you draft Weeden. But if Weeden is drafted he must start. **** Garrard and **** Moore.

    Well away from here
I said during the season, regarding Moore that he shouldn't simply be dismissed the way he was, that was an intriguing guy in that I wanted to see more of him. He was certainly better than Chad Henne, I don't think anyone doubts that, but I do still wonder if he could ever be the guy. I say this because he leaves you wanting a little more, but he also does enough to make you curious enough to see more. Is he an elite talent, probably not, is he likely the best backup in the league, yeah I'd say he pretty much is IMO.

With regards to Tannehill, just wait a week and I can assuredly say there will be a rather in depth look at him. :wink2:

Care to post yours? Cuz all the ones I have looked at are all over the place. Some say he is accurate, some say he isn't. Almost all agree he has an NFL caliber arm.

he is accurate and he isn't accurate, but his mechanics aren't consistent and need refining so it's to be expected IMO.

On throws where his mechanics appear noticeably better, the velocity is outstanding and the accuracy looks quite good IMO (especially when his delivery is more compact IIRC), maybe not Pennington good, but I wouldn't be drafting him to be a Pennington type QB. IMO he's a naturally gifted passer and has the feet to significantly improve with more coaching, refinement, and repetition, and if we're going to run some type of WCO with more receivers on the field & less inline blockers and thus more vulnerable to being pressured, I drool over Tannehill's ability to create with his feet and throw on the run. As a pocket passer his deep outs (even from the far hash) are impressive IMO. He has the ability to make throws that not every QB can.

Personally, I think he's a more likable version of Blaine Gabbert but with a slightly better arm, more athletic ability, better leadership ability, more brains, and more desire.

Yea, Tannehill did such a great job as the QB of Texas A&M last season that Sherman was fired after the season. Tannehill is a giant reach at any position in the first round, but taking him with the eight pick would be absolutely the dumbest thing Ireland has done since he became the GM four years ago. I don't see Tannehill ever being a quality starter in the NFL and as much as I hated Henne as a second round pick four years ago, he is a better NFL QB than Tannehill will ever be, IMO.

if the dolphins trade to get back into the middle of the 1st round for tannehill.....maybe use the two thirds they got for marshell could anyone really argue with that?

Tannehill was a very mediocre QB at Texas A&M. Perhaps if he was half as decent at the QB position as some on here want us to believe he is. He would have actually been able to lead his team to enough victories and Sherman would still be the HC at A&M. If you want the Dolphins to draft him in the first round, I am sure you will be on here in the next few years wondering what the Dolphins FO ever saw in him in the first place.

That's not even nice. Tannehill has talent, and can actually step into the pocket, Gabbert still hasn't learned that part yet.

Worst logic I have ever heard. Period.

So you're saying the QB of the NCAA's 10th ranked yardage & 11th ranked scoring offense got Sherman fired? Keep eatin those paint chips.

Your inability or ignorance to accept this is a team game is beyond fathomable.

and what if amtt moore sucks this next season ? i think some people are making Matt Moore out to be like jay Feidler and we have another and e have a crappy wr corp and that doesnt spell playoffs or even 500 in my book but we shall see I tend to thank we gave up oh Henne , and Sage Rosenfels .

I believe that we didn't sign Matt Flynn because of Philbin's "inside information", I can only hope that we won't sign Tannehill if Sherman feels that Tannehill is at all questionable for what they plan to implement. CAN'T WAIT TIL SEPTEMBER!

Not necessarily. It would be nice to find out if Weeden can beat Moore out of the #1 spot... if not this year, then the next. IMO "NFL ready doesn't HAVE to mean you throw him as a starter on opening day. Let him compete, if Moore beats him out, we know we have a guy behind him who can step in with some promise if Moore starts to go downhill.
    Conversely ...
If Weeden beats Moore, we still have Moore as a backup...

Personally I could care less what you think about my logic. I see you as nothing but an Ireland apologist. Tannehill played below average against the few good defenses he faced last season and he put up most of his yardage against extremely poor defenses. If Tannehill had been a QB in the SEC, I doubt if he would be ranked in the top 10 QB's in this years draft. I only hope that the Browns are as dumb as the fans on here who want the Dolphins to draft Tannehill and they take him before the Dolphins even get the chance. I would rather see the Dolphins take another offensive or defensive lineman with the 8th pick in the draft, instead of drafting Tannehill with this pick.

As much as I have my doubts about Weeden because of his age and how bad he looked in the Senior Bowl game. I would want the Dolphins to take him over Tannehill, any day of the week.

I just find it odd you would consider Mike Holmgren dumb for having a different evaluation of a player than you do.

I do not believe Ireland is stupid to the point of taking Tannehill with our #1 where it stands .

It would be a monumental reach for a very suspect prospect . It's hard to understand why anyone would contemplate a #1 pick on him.

go watch the dallas game from last year that moore single handly lost for us (or any game against a 500 plus/playoff team). He's inconsistent and inaccurate. hell, the guy has problems caching snaps from the shotgun or even getting the snap count right. there's a reason why miami is talking to every prospect/FA and there is talk a qb being our first pick....moore sucks. he wasn't good enough to get a roster spot in dallas and he wasn't good enough to keep his job in Car. The only people who think he's an answer at qb are cheerleaders.
