You're right. It all depends what direction the Browns want to go rather than what we think they should go. With 2 quality 1st round picks, IMO it makes it much easier for them to take an elite RB at #4 than if they only had one 1st. I agree that they're playing coy, but IMO it's to boost the value of their #4 pick with the hopes of trading out and stockpiling more picks. I say this b/c it's uncertain whether or not the 3 teams immediately following them (who don't need a QB) would be interested in trading back and losing out on one of those top tier guys, so if the Browns are the first to offer up a trade scenario (which they can since their #4 is higher than 5, 6, or 7), then a team wanting to move up just might take it.
Plus, a lot of fans complain that Miami never prioritized QB b/c we never took one in the first round. I don't know the thought processes of all the past guys drafting for us, but I do know that it's not just about wanting one, that it's also about being in the right spot at the right time and having a QB who fits either the current offense you run, the one you're about to run, or one that you would change to build around him. IMO this is one of those rare times where we actually have a 1st round talent QB who fits what we want to run offensively who also might be available when we pick. It's a fortunate situation for us IMO, one that I wouldn't pass up simply b/c Tannehill's a little raw or b/c "we can either just find one next year or later in this draft who'll suffice". The drop off from Tannehill to Osweiler is like saying "we can skip on Dez Bryant and go after some project 6th round guy later on" [if WR were hypothetically the most important position on the field and we didn't have a franchise one].

Anyone think that bringing so many people there could just be a "smokescreen"? Especially for us? Maybe make the Browns think we want him so that they pick him at 4 and someone else really talented falls to us... or could it be a double-smokescreen?!? Act like we are interested, so teams think we are smokescreening them and they think we aren't interested, when really we are? hahaha
i watched the USC game as well. I think his first 10 passes were swing passes and for a guy 6'7 he had 2 passes batted down at the line. No thanks. Tannehill or Weeden. Those are the only two that impress me and everyday I lean a little more towards Weeden. I like his release and arm strength. Yeah he's older, but I'm over that. I don't see any other QB's worth drafting.
Who cares how many passes a QB completes in his pro day? He is in shorts and the receivers are in shorts. No defensive pressure is being applied and it really is no more then like playing catch. I go by what I saw in the three games I watched Tannehill play last season and based on those three games, I just don't get all this hype he is receiving. He is a late second, early third round selection who is only being projected as a top ten pick because he possibly MIGHT develop into a decent NFL QB someday.
