I saw this video series posted either here or in another forum. Apologize if it is redundant. Mods feel free to delete or bump the old thread if it was here. It is a great look into the basic operation of the quarterback position in the WCO with Bill Walsh explaining details. i think it is gives great insight and begs the question can Matt Moore or David Garrard operate in this system? I don't profess to have the answer but am interested in what ya'll think. On another note it is clear Bill Walsh had a great understanding of this system and could clearly communicate concepts/ideas,,, guy was a great coach. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-MfNd-SjZo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYKh-4s5HfI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1--pmXE7H0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MmhI6NNR088 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giOfuGJ0rq0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GaklBedGlPE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQi_EJv9aFw
It's really more about the Qb position, the drops, the timing of the drops, the release of the football on time after the back foot is planted, the hitch and throw... Matt Moore is at his best when he drops and reads his progression and throws on time off that back right foot ..
Well, I think Moore is a rhythm passer of the football, like i said, he loves that hop step after the drop and release that the video illustrated as necessary in the Qb's skillset, it's when things break down where he isn't his best, this offense is based on rhythm and timing, so his time clock matches up with the offense, we'll see..Garrard will be tough competition..
don't know much about garrard other than he was out last season. anyone know if the jags ran a similar offense with him? Or how accurate he is? not so sure about garrard in this type of offense.
His parents walk in and he looks at them shocked "Cant a boy have his privacy!" with a pillow over his uhhh stuff. Then he goes back to this and other scouting videos. "Oh yeah...Andrew....the footwork....nono don't release yet feel the pressure...you have such great ball skills Blackmon...."
