I don't think he's going to sit behind a hall of fame QB for a couple years then take over.

I dont know, IMO, they're a better team than they were when they started out on fire in 2011 prior to hitting major injuries. Their back end looked worse than it really is b/c their front end couldn't get after the QB. They also had to use Byrd more in run support. Now they'll have a pass rush, and Byrd can go back to doing more roaming. Kyle Williams, PFF's 2010 defensive POY, is back. Then add in a year's worth of development for Dareus. Plus they unfortunately have some talented young guys developing in 2nd round CB Aaron Ross, promising 2nd year SS (Searcy), a stud 2nd year ILB (Sheppard), solid young depth at Dline, and CB Justin Rogers surprised a lot of people. The Jills absolutely killed it with their 2011 draft. They whiffed on Maybin in 09, but they nailed 3 ProBowl caliber players immediately after him in Wood, Byrd, and Levitre. I hate to say it, but they're a playoff caliber team if they stay healthy, and it wouldn't surprise me if they went 10-6 with a WC birth and even a trip into the 2nd round. :pity:

I like how some people think we should just pass on a quarterback this year and just go for Barkley or Landry next year. We would probably be in the same situation next year as we faced this year. We would probably finish somewhere in the middle of the pack or later and have to trade most of our draft picks next year and maybe a 1st round pick the following year to get either one of them. Washington made a bold move to go up and get RGIII but I just don't see our front office making such a move. Having said that, I just don't know if Miami will put enough priority on a quarterback with Moore and Garrard on the team to take Tannehill or Wheeden before they are both selected elsewhere. I kind of fear that they are targeting Osweiler later in the draft and I am not all that sold on Osweiler.

I'm sure it did, regardless of what Favre said whether Favre spoke to Aaron or not.

No, they lacked the physical talent. That's not something Peyton can fix.

Never said anything about the coaches, but Favre could teach Rodgers how to handle certain situations.

I think there are all kinds of things Aaron learned from Brett by just watching him. But there's no denying that Favre did Aaron no favors as far as this "student-teacher" relationship went. It's not just public statements by Favre. Rodgers still resents the way Brett treated him and made it a point to have a better relationship and more actively teach Matt Flynn, in direct contrast to how Favre treated him.

It's one of those things where I'm sure Aaron learned things watching Brett in action, but how much, if any, did that make him a better quarterback? Either direction is speculation. It would be easier to say it helped if it weren't so obvious the two were cold to one another.

I think you'd have to generally consider it a good thing. Can't really be a bad thing. I've heard plenty of accusations that so-and-so was ruined because he played too early, had too much put on his shoulders, didn't get to learn from anyone's example, etc. Whether that's accurate or not, I don't know, but you certainly never hear that so-and-so was ruined because he sat and learned the offense and the way the NFL does things behind a consummate professional.

Personally, if they're the same type of QB, I think it can help expedite the learning curve a bit b/c Rodgers has likely watched Favre enough to where he can see him play in his sleep so that when Aaron watches film on himself, he can visualize it side by side with Favre for comparison, but I don't think it will suddenly make someone into a player they're not (as you say).

When i think of Favre i think 'Interception' and broken WR fingers. If i had a choice of Rodgers or Favre even that this stage in Rodgers career i would go with Rodgers. That in itself is a compliment to Philbin.

i think people can thrown the wolves, get dominated and never recover. look at the guy from the texans david carr. dude just took a brutal pounding.

hell you could even argue henne never had a fair shake because of poor coaching and the lack of talent around him plus the stupid wild cat nonsense that would take him off the field for 1st and 2nd down.
