http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/fa?&action=login&appRedirect=http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/fa Scroll down the list of ESPN's FA Tracker. E.J. Henderson, 2011 Team: Vikings, 2012 Team: Dolphins Plain as day. Could be a misprint. But the Dolphins have been bringing in a lot of MLBs and WLBs for looks. E.J. Henderson would in my opinion be a tremendous signing. Exactly what they would need to play Mike while Burnett and Dansby stay on the outsides. Henderson's weakness is coverage but they wouldn't need him to stay on the field in passing situations on nickel defense, they could leave that to Burnett and Dansby.
lol saw your tweet about it and came to see if there was anything posted here... hope it is not a misprint, for the reasons you stated.
There is some confusion here but let me get it out of the way. E.J. Henderson and Erin Henderson are brothers, two different players, both played for the Vikings, both were free agents this off season. ERIN has been re-signed by the Vikings. E.J. remains a free agent and has dealt with so many injuries, that is one reason he's still available, that and he's only a two-down player at this point. The Vikings don't seem to have any plans to re-sign E.J. They drafted Jasper Brinkley a few years ago and seem to want to roll with him at the position, and also they just signed our very own Marvin Mitchell who is also a MLB, and will probably play backup for Brinkley. The Dolphins have looked at some MLBs in this free agency period, one of them being Jonathan Goff. Gary Guyton has played MLB. The other guys they've looked at, Wheeler, Groves, McIntosh, Kehl...they're all WLBs.
This is PROBABLY just a glitch on ESPN's Free Agency Tracker. But the weird thing is that Miami has been kicking the tires on exactly this kind of player. Someone tells me that last year the ESPN FA Tracker also had Miami as having signed one of the Abdullahs.
If I know guys like Ben Volin and Omar Kelly, they'll read my twitter feed and actually do some cursory investigation to set the record straight that we haven't signed E.J. Henderson.
Checked out the ESPN Insider Rumor section, nothing even linking us to having him in our camp, or even our sights.
NFL.com and KFFL still don't have a new team listed for E.J. I think that would be a great signing. My terp buddies would certainly be happy about it.
This would be a tremendous signing ... 5 years ago. At this point E.J. is just a shell of his former self. Injuries have robbed him of his speed. He can still tackle, but he's a 2 down player at this point with limited upside. I'd rather we draft a player ... whether that's Kuechy early or someone in the later rounds. If we're truly playing a 4-3 then I want a dynamic player in the middle, not a guy who can run into the pile and not much else. If we're looking for that kind of player, we may as well resign Channing Crowder.
The real question is.... Why would anybody think Miami would sign Henderson with IRISH running the show.....?
Because he wouldn't sign the veteran minimum contract that was offered to him as the take it or leave it one offered by that lobhead....
Finyank, On what board and in what thread did Section make that brilliant Ireland quote in your sig? I'd love to see the rest of that discussion.
A depth signing for sure EJ is a two down player with an injury history. I really wonder given the double drafting principle is the BC MLB is higher on the draft board than most of us thought.
Where exactly have you been the past 4 years that you've got a perception that this front office constantly lowballs people?
Somewhere here......where common sense reigns supreme.... http://www.fanhell.com/forumdisplay.php?28-The-Dolphins-Dungeon
I feel like in Ghostbusters when the Mayor makes them open the containment unit that holds all the evil spirits. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!
