True, but regardless you never give the other team a chance to win it when you can wrap it up. I'm glad it worked out, but it was still a horrible move.

I don't mind letting Gaudin hit at all. Big picture, it's absolutely the correct move. No question.

Yes it was. Things can work out and still be wrong. Any time you have a chance to end a game in any sport you do it. Period. None of those bullpen arms are worn out yet there is no reason to be avoiding them to that degree.

There's literally no one left. Our other options were to let a reliever go out there on his fourth straight day of work, or pitch a position player. No one was left to pitch.

Oh, and can we stop second-guessing the decision of the interim manager?

The entire pen was worn out. Yes, they don't have many appearances but they have physical limitations. You cant send guys out there that many days in a row. You absolutely cannot do it.

I disagree, you can. Not on a consistent basis, but every once in a while yea you can. By not trying to end the game you risk not only losing but that the game could extend much longer forcing you to use even MORE arms. When you have a hitter like Kearns on the bench there is no reason not to use him.

You're wrong on this. No dice. Zero reason to use relievers four days in a row.

Austin Kearn isn't actually any good, you know.

The move had a bigger chance of losing the game than winning it. Period. We were lucky it didn't. No-one was going to self implode if they had to work four days in a row once. If a guy has to he has to, give him a few extra days less.

You are also assuming the game isnt won with the pinch hitter. Kearns obviously isn't a great hitter but he can hit a fastball which was the only thing working for the pitcher on the mound.

Good series. Glad we got that homerun out of the way at the park......it's nice to see Hanley stroking it. Now if Stanton will stop swining at outside curve balls we might have a chance.

I don't want to get ahead of myself but I think he's back. Back as in .900 OPS back. At worst, a .850 OPS bat.

Went to the game on Sunday and thought I'd post some pictures. The aquarium sort of lights up. The homerun statue is pretty cool in person and I like the backdrop of the city behind it. Also, the escalators have a clear view of the game as you're going up, which I thought was pretty cool.

The Hanley/Reyes "beef" speculated in the off season continues to look stupider and stupider. They're in love.

I had read in the off season following this rumor that in fact one is the godparent to the others kids.....is that true or was that debunked?

I never bought into any beef, but thought if in fact a godchild relationship is true, that sealed the all love and fun angle between them.
