I am new to the forum and have always been a Dolphins fan with my old man. I am from the Poconos and now live in Florida.

I am not happy with the roller coaster of possible coachs, QB's and everything either. However, I really liked the look of the new RB they got from the Canadian football league and man I have really liked what the new coach has said, how he has said it and the little moves they have made since. I think this will be a run and gun fun offense to watch with alot of the multiple deep routes from one end of the field to the other as well as good utilization of weapons like Bush and the new back from Edmonton or Saskatoon or whichever one it was. He is a bruising back with good power speed and big play ability to go with Bush and should be a great threat especially if we are able to do damage down the field. I think it will be more of a quick pass and 3 or 4 back at times with quick cuts and crosses like Green Bay and New Orleans. Defense is good and I am sure they will get the hold out with our last big addition from the CFL Cameron.

Not sure of the direction the new coach will go in the draft but I have a good feeling that he is really ready to succeed in the mold of what Green Bay and New Orleans have done with a vertical attack and the utilization of multiple small quick wide outs coupled with a slashing running game which I think Bush and the new back are really going to be one of the best tandums in the league. I am concerned that the guy from the Canada can stay out of trouble he sure did know how talented he is and did not mind getting excited about it. Obviously QB is a concern but I also think that a large part of that is how well the defense is dictated too like New England, Green Bay, New Orleans and even the Giants do! If Moore has a better idea of the mismatch, slot in the secondary that is being exploted or the couple recievers with a good opportunity to pop free and can focus on it better he may well be able to produce more out of that position. We were close enough in the Dallas, Giants, New England and a couple other loses that a couple more successful drives or even one in some games would have gotten the W. This is still a talented team and I like the sound of the new coach and the confidence he has that we will be more successful offensively and I love the little additions he has made to the D and the D overall.

Let me know what you think and I understand this will not be the Giants of this last year this coming year for the phins but I really do feel that this coach will tick the offense up and the D will do better and we will be a playoff team next year.

Welcome! I love your optimism! We certainly have a ways to go, but I think Philbin has us going in the right direction. There is a lot to be excited about this year.

Yeah, I'd definitely say that he failed to meet the (seemingly) required level of pessimism that has become the norm.

We blew 4th quarter leads against Cleveland, Denver, NYG, New England and Dallas, 5 of our 6 wins were by double digits, and we finished the year winning 6 out of 9 games.

By my count we'll have about 6 games vs "good teams" this season.

Depending on what happens in the draft and how well the new staff is able to put their imprint on the team we're looking at being a middle of the pack team with an outside chance of being good and challenging for a playoff spot.

But if you read the paper, or the forums, you'd swear we were the Colts.

Can't say I blame people for feeling the way they do but that doesn't make the doom and gloom any less irrational.

Welcome to the site, it's the best one, as it relates to our players and team, I will support the team with conviction because I understand that a team can come together in certain ways to accomplish things that are unexpected, all the while keeping a close eye on our Gm, I understand and believe he hasn't had control for a long period of time, so I want to really sees who he comes away with in this draft..

    If its something like this...

    1) Luke Kuechly...With Paul Solai and co keeping this dudes skillset free to diagnose and finish, on all three downs, I think his talent and production will be worthy of the 8th overall.

    2) Brandon Weeden or Russell Wilson..wait it out, I'd be very happy with either.

    3) Mohammed Sanu, big, good receiver with average strait line speed, kind of like the player we traded..

    3) Devon Wylie...I'am enamored, and I'am gonna make sure he's on our team.

    4) Tank carder, explosive player, bad *** demeanor.

    5) Cliff Harris...time to start taking chances on players with talent.

    I'll be happy

I think you and I are the only ones on here who want the Dolphins to take Kuechly with their first round draft pick. I think he is a stud who can come in and be an impact player right from the start. I see him as a bigger and faster Zach Thomas. In fact I think he is the best defensive player on the board in the entire draft.

I am not big on Tannehill, so I also like the fact you are willing to pass on Tannehill in the first and draft Weeden in the second. If Weeden happens to be drafted before the Dolphins pick in the second round, the Dolphins could always opt to take Cousins with one of their third round picks. I actually think Cousins will be a better QB in the NFL than Tannehill.

This draft, at least in the first round, will be determined by other people besides Jeff Ireland, if Sherman and Coach agree on Tannehill, his decision is made for him, he will have rounds 2 thru 7 to make an impact.

Welcome bro. I'm not optimist about this season for multiple reasons. But if Philbin and Sherman can bring this team 75% of the offensive efficiency that Green Bay had, and we can manage to continue with a stout defense, then things will be looking up. There are a lot of question marks on this team right now, and they can't all be addressed in the off season. I, too, am glad we didn't overspend in free agency, although I think there were a few players we should have really put more focus on - and none of those were QBs.

As it stands, I feel like we have an intelligent coaching staff who knows who to get the best out of the players that we have now. A good draft will obviously help us immensely. It's going to come down to what is available to us, how smart we are with our picks, and good communication between the front office and our coaching staff.

Reports are that the Eagles are interested in trading up with the Vikings to take Tannehill. Also if the Eagles don't trade up, it appears the Browns are trying to decide between Balckmon and Tannehill with the fourth pick in the draft. Since I am hoping the Dolphins don't draft Tannehill, I would love to see the Eagles or Browns draft him before the Dolphins selection comes up in the first round.

This would take the pressure off Ireland to take a QB in the first round and he hopefully would pick the best defensive player in the entire draft by selecting Kuechly.
