Reading on pft.com that D. McNabb thinks he should be in the HoF. IMO, he doesn't belong there. He was nothing special.
IMO a HOF player has to have been among the best at his position (top 3 maybe top 5 if there were other factors like great stats, longevity SBs, etc.) for a significant enough portion of time. I didn't have McNabb rated that highly during his prime and I don't see enough of the other factors.
No but Andy Reid should be given a yellow jacket for making avg QB's look good, and making good Qb's in any discussion for the HOF.
Compares favorably to a Jim Kelly for example. While I think there are more deserving guys out there, I wouldn't write him off so quickly.
Player One Career: 37,000 yards, 234 TD, 117 INT, 85 QB Rating Player Two Career: 44,611 yards, 251 TD, 206 INT, 77 QB Rating Whos game do you like more?
And still people do not realize what Andy Reid is....A Qb's best friend! He got a second Rd pick for AJ Feeley He got Cleveland to pay Jeff Garcia a ridiculous contract He made NFL execs believe Kevin Kolb was the next big thing He got high picks from a division rival for D-Mac And now he has people thinking Mcnaab was half the QB Bledsoe was C'mon folks the guy was a GOOD Qb but nothing special, he benefited from a great system and even then alot of Philly fans and even many teammates were not big fans of his 10 yd outs thrown into the dirt.
When exactly was his prime? His best season he only managed a QB rating of 87 which is only two points above the AVERAGE of McNabb. He also never averaged a season of or above a 2:1 TD/INT ratio which again is the career ratio of McNabb. In fact in 7 of his seasons he failed to even throw more TD's than interceptions. His career completion percentage is only 57%. You can also add that Bledsoe attempted over a THOUSAND more passes in his career which makes his TD/Attempt ratio pitiful in comparison. You OBVIOUSLY have a bias against athletic quarterbacks.
That isn't the issue. The issue is that someone is comparing Drew Bledsoe to him which is absolutely RIDICULOUS on any level. At all. Theres a reason the Patriots took off with Bledsoe ON THE BENCH.
Wait, McNabb was good, but not great? And not half of the QB Bledsoe was??? So Bledsoe was great??? I'm stunned. You two are delusional. Bledsoe was nothing more then a statue in the pocket, with a great arm, and no accuracy. Lmao
Your right... Tom Brady is better than Drew Bledsoe.. All Im saying is put Drew in Philly the same time Donny was and the Eagles prolly have 2 SB rings instead of???? NONE
He was a gunslinger yes, but before that injury he was one of the best passers in the league.... Its like real estate, location location location. Tim Couch goes to Philly Id be willing to bet he never becomes a bust...put Mcnaab in Cleveland? He's Spurgyn Wynn ( I know misspelled his 1st name)
Well I disagree immensley . I don't think McNabb is a HOF, but he's head and shoulders better then Bledsoe. And I can't stand McNabb. I think he's a ***** and a fake. But he could play the QB position.
We all have our opinions, but I don't need a stat book to tell me who a good player is or not. Ive watched Bledsoe, I've watched McNabb and I would take Bledsoe any day over McNabb.
Based on what exactly. And yes stats are for losers....says the guy with absolutely no stats to back up his claim. I bet when you have statistics in your favor you will use them. (Not you Fin-O)
You're talking about a guy who threw more interceptions than he played in games. This is absolutely ridiculous.
Ive always been anti Mcnaab, Ive always thought he was overrated so maybe Im not the most nuetral guy on this topic.
Yeah but if you want people to take your opinion seriously you need to provide some sort of evidence. You have yet to say what Bledsoe is so much better at exactly or provide any evidence.
I believe in the eyeball test, I mean we all know how much better David Klingler's stats were but he wasnt a very good QB at all. If I could have one of those guys as a rookie? Im taking Drew.
The eyeball test is fine, but I want to know whos eyeballs were impressed with the career of Bledsoe while they watched him throw more interceptions than games he played in. If I could have a rookie hell I'll take Ryan Leaf and have him learn under a great QB coach in a great stable situation but it just doesn't work that way....
Leaf? Dudes Robbing people, there was never any hope for that guy. Tim Couch is the prime example IMO because they easily could've reversed roles.
The point wasn't the specific example. The point is that we can only base it off of what they actually did not could have done. I agree on Couch though.
