According to PFT, the ticket is only going to cost us $199 this year! This is something that gets discussed every year. Good to see them drop the price, looks like the NFL.com option help stop the monopoly that DTV had.
Nice and thats for HD. I loved the redzone channel, but I am not paying an extra 100 for it. 199 it is!!!!
I couldn't tell you how many years I've called and encouraged others to call and get a discount. Last year I got it for free. $199.00 is a fair price.
I've called every year since I first got Sunday Ticket. I usually get it for $150 or less and a couple times got it for free. I wonder if we'll be able to do the same since they lowered the price. $199 is fair, $13.26 a game if you only watch your own team (assuming your team has 1 primetime game). I would spend more than that going to watch it somewhere else.
NFL Sunday Ticket may be the best invention ever. I haven't missed a Dolphins game in years because of it. It's been a life saver. And this is a good price.
No. You either do Sunday Ticket for $199.95 or you can do Sunday Ticket Max for $299.95. Max includes online and mobile, Redzone Channel, and 30 min games. BS that you don't get RedZone with the regular package.
Yup. Doesn't mean I'm not going to still not try like hell. Just gotta keep calling the cancellation or retention department till you get someone who will say yes. I'm guessing they'll probably offer it for $150.
I complained about the price when I cancelled it a couple of years ago ... they tried to offer me some extra movie channels for free ... but never a discount on that $200+ price.
I have being getting it for free for years simply because it was overpriced. Before that I was paying 160 dollars for NFL stream .I am willing to pay 200 bucks this year but I prefer it would not be HDTV .
The price has been $199 if you complained in prior years, they knocked it down to that level if you threatened to cancel it. So now they are starting off at $199 and taking short cuts (best thing ever) and RZC off (next best thing ever). hmmm...
Considering that most of the Dolphin home games will probably be blacked out in the South Florida area this season. Having a more affordable Sunday ticket on Direct TV will certainly enable more viewers of Direct TV to enjoy football at home, while not being able to watch the Dolphin home games in the confines of their own home.
confused about this deal. They now have two rates 199 for basic and 299 for max. Last year the released the PS3 app for streaming on your PS3 so you no longer needed to buy a dish so I sold mine. Got rid of the direct TV box as well and was able to stream them on my PC and PS3. SO Now I see they include the Computer and phone versions as the $299 price point. I don't want to watch on those devices however I do want to watch on the PS3. So what does that mean since there is no mention of that. Looks like there charging an extra $100 for the streaming versions.
Yes it will but you have to guy the additional package that costs 299 to get anything online. As long as you do that and hook your PS3 online, you got it. If you call and complain then they willl automatically take $ 10 off your month regular bill. Thats minus $120 for the year and in reality you will get the whole package, online, red zone etc for $ 179. This is new pricing but I have called and complained every year since I got Direct Tv in 2001 and every year at minimum, I received a $ 120 discount, free HBO for 6 months etc. I always wait until it automatically renews itself and then I get on the phone to the retention department. Most times they instantly fold like a cheap napkin. Other times they put their " supervisor " on. Who in turn, folds like a cheap napkin. If you say nothing, they do nothing. I am getting the entire $ 299 package. Once it hits my billing I will get on the phone once again and at minimum, get $ 10 off my regular monthly bill which in event means the full package will cost me $ 179 for the season. Twenty dollars cheaper then the low cost package. Do not feel bad, you are keeping people working. If it wasn't for us Pain in the you know whats Direct Tv would have to lay off their entire Retention dept. As I said, you say nothing, they do nothing. You call and threaten to disconnect, they fold. Its no different then those rebate coupons you get. You send it in, you get your rebate. You do not send it in ? You get nothing. Manufacturers save MILLIONS of dollars each year just on people not sending the rebate slips back in. I have been in marketing my entire adult life. The old saying " the squeaky wheel gets the oil " is as true now as when it was first coined. Everyone call, they will be expecting you too. Guaranteed 100% everyone, at minimum, will get $ 120 off their yearly bill on their regular service.
Im glad about the price drop. Sad about all of those who complain. I take the high road and only complain about something when Ive truely been wronged. If $200 is the price, then I either pay it or dont get the service.
I would think if you aren't under contract, and you threaten to leave, they might be willing to listen. But otherwise, probably not. I may not even bother, $199 is good for me, and I may try to leverage my current no-contract status to get them to wire my whole house for whole-home DVR, and a new DVR or something.
I didn't realize they're charging another #100 for the online, red zone, 30-min games, etc. I may try and call and at least get them to throw that part in.
I've had the Sunday Ticket forever, but I've never had a basic channel package. You used to be able to do that and I'm grandfathered in, but now you either have to have at least a basic channel package or go the PS3 route. I've never been able to argue and get the yearly discount since I did not have one of their channel packages. I think they'll automatically renew me at the $199 this year, but you never know.
