The player's don't deserve empty seats, they need support. That's the problem with South Florida sports fan's, they only show up when were winning..smh
That's really all that needs to be said..and that's one game we are the champs of, and it's something that I think has evolved into a real tangible problem for players playing in this town..
We'll agree to disagree then. But this team needs the complete rebuild we should of gotten after 2007. Replacing a bunch of bad players with more bad players isn't exactly a rebuild. We've been mediocre, trying the same things for far too long, and it hasn't worked. The few times we did manage to suck, we blew it by taking Ronnie Brown and Jake Long over Aaron Rodgers and Matt Ryan. I'm not a Tannehill fan, but if Ireland thinks he's a franchise QB he needs to pull the trigger instead of doing what he knows best. Making the safe pick, which in this case would be Decastro or Fletcher Cox. Never going to get anywhere if they don't try to find a QB. Matt Moore isn't the answer folks.
Support? For sucking on the field? They have enough support. It's called 6, 7, sometimes even 8 figure salaries. They use that money to buy tickets, I'll show up. But I'm not spending the hundreds, thousands of dollars for that rubbish.
It's not how football works, it's a game of emotion..If you want to continue the cycle of losing keep not doing anything to help.
Wow get season tickets to 15,000 and you will see some change, but it wont be the good change it would probably mean the franchise would move. Before any of you say it wont ever happen. Think Colts and Browns it can happen! Ill be down for a game this year, its hard coming from ATL but we try to make it down and catch a game if we can.
No, that's what good fans do. They don't support bad play, they reward good play. This area doesn't accept mediocrity. It doesn't pay good money to see 7-9 and 6-10. You win, you get fans to buy season tix. That's the way it is down here. If this team wins, you'll see the best, loudest fans in football. Remember the crowd during Monday Night Game against the Jets a few years ago when Henne led that game winning drive? That's how it'll be every game when this FO (or a different one) assembles a perennial playoff team.
Yeah I was there. Good fans don't support their team when their losing? hmm not my mentality of a good fan. I bet if the Steeler's fall to mediocrity or the Bears, those games will still be packed every Sunday no matter what.
After 11 seasons without a playoff win, Steelers fans will still buy tickets. But it won't be to support the team. It will be to throw **** at the terrible players disgracing the uniform. Maybe Dolphins fans should pull a Genoa... Force a stoppage of play until every Dolphins players removes their uniform since they don't deserve to wear them, and apologize to the fans...
Remember the time Sparano gave his pre-season speech to the fans Then he proceeds to quote "Gladiator" with the whole "Win the Crowd!" schpiel Then he immediately asks for blind support ...Man, that was rich. Rest assured DJ, I think anyone willing to post on a Dolphins forum has already passed the "true fan" test...
Personally, winning is great but even if we lose the next 100 games in a row I will still be a Dolphin fan. You don't go see your team because you expect to win, you go see them to get out of the house and have a good day. Cook some food, mingle with other fans, and watch the ups and downs. To me everything is part of a story. Like it or not these struggles are part of our story now. Let's see what the next chapter holds.
I know Rilla, Iam just grateful for the fans that are continuing to purchase their season tickets thru all the Bs.
Totally agree, but when I watch games I always expect to win........ yeah than reality sets in and but I always keep a optimistic outlook, Man what it would be like though to be a fan of a good team, hope man hope
I wouldnt mind watching a bad team if there was some promise or hope coming from young players. last year I watched the first 4-5 games. hell the pats open had me excited for a few minutes because our offense looked nasty but week two started the pound the rock behind an average D routine. i went to one game last year. if we dont have a good draft or show some promise in preseason i wont go to any. I can mingle with friends much cheaper at the bar and actually watch decent football while im at it too.
Actually, Pand.... I have to think that when a "true fan" comes on the board acting like an arrogant little snit with a combination Chicken Little/Eeyore attitude trying to stir up excrement with nothing but snide, negative remarks - and also offers no suggestions other than get rid of everyone on the team from the owner on down (take out the rubbish) - while displaying no interest in proposing other ideas than boycotting the team's paraphernalia and games - that fan is doing nothing more than stirring the pot trying to get more hits.
I am sick and tired of those who question the loyalty of fans who have decided to give up their season tickets because of our desire to see something positive from this organization after years of incompetence. I do not apologize for giving up my season tickets two years ago, even though I can still afford to purchase these tickets. I supported the Dolphins financially for over forty years. I purchased four season tickets each season for all those years. My wife and I also traveled to nearly 30 road games over this period, including to London, England in 2007 to watch the Dolphins play. That was the season in which the Dolphins finished 1-15. After spending well over $150,000 attending games over the years, I feel I have earned the right to demand better from the Dolphin organization if they expect me to continue to spend my money to attend their games. I am not a fair weather fan or a fan who only supports the team when they are winning. In fact I was one of those who continued to pay thousands of dollars a year for my seats so the majority of South Florida Dolphin fans could sit in the comfort of their homes and watch the games. As we have gotten older, My wife and I don't enjoy the extreme heat and rain during September and October as much as we did when we were younger. Having to deal with the elements, and our unhappiness with the direction of the Dolphin organization under Ross is the reason we no longer desire to attend games. I feel that after forty years ,I did my part to support this organization. Perhaps many of the younger fans who are complaining about the lack of fans at the stadium can get off their sofa's on game days and start attending games if they want the stands to be full. Blaming those of us who were there for many years for no longer wanting to purchase tickets is just plain ignorant. We are the reason the team came here in the first place and the reason the stands were full for so long. It is now up to the younger generation to fill the stands if they want to keep the Dolphins here and stop blaming those of us who supported the team by attending games for generations.
and turning our perceived worst fan culture in sports into a truism..or are boycotting their attendance because of our past history or their feelings for Ireland.....awwwwww......ridiculous reaction to a circumstance in sports, over the edge, and only doing damage to the supposed franchise they love.. 30K 30k 30K!!!!!!!, best fans in any sport period.
