(Caveat - I haven't seen this posted - sorry if someone else has).

Whether you agree or not with Greg Cosell's work, he does his film homework on all his players. He puts in the work and I appreciate that.

This is a very interesting kind of mock draft (hence the quotations in the title). Cosell doesn't base this on what he thinks teams will do. But, purely on his scouting the talent and what teams should do based on the talent pool and his rankings.

Very interesting run down on the CB's (has Gilmore & Jenkins ahead of Claiborne). Also has Floyd rated ahead of Blackmon (which, based on what I saw in several games - I like both - but the physical & speed attributes of Floyd makes me like him a bit better than Blackmon).

Here's what he said about the Dolphins - but the entire read is very good:

For Tannehill it comes down to time and development by the staff. Will he get enough of both. either one? That's why I'd opt for a sure thing like Keuchley instead. He'll come in and make 100 tackles.

To be fair, some believe he's damn good. If the organization doesn't agree, they would be wise not to draft him solely because of the position he plays. It still comes down to evaluating talent.

That had nothing to do with spending resources on defense. That had to do with the incompetence of Wanny, not getting a QB after Marino retired and generally not making good picks on offense out of the draft. Wanny wasted the prime of that team.

I still believe any potential RGIII has will be ruined in Washington.

Maybe...Kuechly could come in here and be successful. The fact is we can't get every player in the draft that's likely to come in here and be productive for us. The fact also is that without a QB, we're just spinning our wheels (see Wanny's teams)... Whether Tanny is going to be a franchise guy is debatable, but we'll never know unless we take the risk...It's as simple as that... He may be another Henne or worse, a Schaub or a Hasselbeck... We just don't know... Besides if he's making 100 tackles and we aren't scoring points, will it really matter??

Im ok with Tannehill. Hes not going to contribute straight away though. A WR will. I wouldnt be upset with Floyd. Our WR Corp is desperate IMO. I know the Draft is deep but we need a serious injection of quality and by that i mean a deep threat and a playmaker. We just dont have it. Thomas worries me as well. Bush is known for geting dinged. Weve got alot of positions on Offense that need help. I just think QB isnt going to help us in this draft for the coming season. Im ok with Moore short term.

Lol at Khalil going out of top 10... If he was there at 8 I don't know about you guys but that's the only offensive lineman this year I'd love adding in the first round.... Wow what a line we would have

Cosell also joins Tony Dungy in putting RGIII ahead of Luck.

Also drops Coples out of the first round.

If he drops, it stops at NE at 27 IMO. Those other names had much more significant issues than Coples and were not as talented.

Should Miami take Tannehill? Sure. At somepoint Miami needs to crap or get off the pot when it comes to QB. Is he a "reach" at 8? Maybe. But honestly, I'd rather have them try and wiff thean do nothing at all. Now the wrench in all of this is Ireland. And not because he sucks, but because, let's face it, he's on the hot seat. He needs an impact player in this draft who steps in right away. And he gets that with Coples, Ingram, Reiff or DeCastro (if he falls). Tannehill isn't going to start and it would take a disaster of epic proportions to get him to be the starter this season. Ireland doesn't have the luxury of using his first round pick on a guy that will most likely sit his entire rookie year.

What's an easier sell for him is this: Hey I drafted a DE that takes the pressure and double teams of Wake and allows him to get to the QB easier. Or I drafted another stud tackle that solidifies the right side of the line. Did we get a "franchise QB" in this draft? No. But we have Moore and Garrard and we can ride this season out with them. The draft next year will feature Matt Barkley, Landry Jones (who should be much improved with another year of football under his belt), Tyler Wilson and possibly Jordan Rodgers. We can address the position then.

In that scenario Ireland buys himself an extra year, selling Ross on the impact, first day starters he drafted this year and that next year Miami will have a better crop of QB's available to them.

Is it the best scenario for we fans? No. But if I'm trying to save my job, then that's what I do. It may not be right and I really want Tannehill or Weeden. But I can see Miami playing it safe and getting guys that will come in right away and start and, as usual, it'll be "wait til next year" for the QB. Of course, the wild card is Ross. He'll get impact players, but they won't fill seats. But to play devil's advocate, Tannehill or Weeden aren't filling seats when they're riding the bench for the season. Although, Weeden has a better chance to start sooner then Tannehill.

Just my opinion. And as we all know with Miami, expect the unexpected in the draft.

It's not that easy an answer bro.

How many championships did Marino win us?
    It wasn't his fault.
You cant win a championship putting up over 30 points per game and still losing!

It takes balance on both sides of the ball.
I'm all for finding a Franchise QB but I'm not for reaching for a raw QB prospect just because.

Kuechly has all the signs of being a special player.
You can't teach the instincts he has.
Picking 8th I wan't a player that has the best chance of being a star. Kuechly fits that to a tee.
The MLB in a 4-3 is pretty much the QB of the defense and any time we've had a great Defense we've had a top MLB. Long history of top MLB's.
I am convinced he would be the smartest pick for us.

I've said it a million times.
We can pick an impact player with a higher chance of success in the NFL at 8 and trade back into the first to nab Weeden if we really wanted to.

If we came out with Kuechly and Weeden I'd be ecstatic.
If we picked Tannehill at 8 I'd be simply cautiously optimistic.

i think weeden plus a stud at 8 is better than tanny and what ever is left over in the second round unless we r really sold on him and get back into the middle/early first for another stud.
