What if Kalil is there at 8?

Discussion in 'Miami Dolphins Forum' started by anthony0187, Apr 26, 2012.

  1. Theres a lot of talk of Minnesota not taking him like everyone thought. Obviously we don't need a LT but Kalil at RT would be amazing.

Well, not to take this thread off topic, but I saw a mock they did on NFL.com, and Trent Richardson was there at #8.

What if he's there at #8 tonight...for real?

As for Kalil being there, I think you'd almost have to take him...no?

He wont. He wont get past 6. If he does a team like Buffalo or Cards jump up to 7 to get him.

If Richardson somehow fell, which I'd bet money against, I'd be hard pressed to not take him.
The more likely scenario, if he falls to 8, is we get a sweet-a$$ trade down deal. most teams seem to acknowledge he's the top talent in the draft after Luck and RGIII.

If Kalil is there at 8.... we'll have more trade partners...

I see the best possible (realistic) scenario's being Claiborne or Khalil falling to our pick. Those are the two A+ picks we could make @ #8.

I just keep seeing Keuchly and seeing Miami basically saying you know what he's our new Zach and we're happy with him.

Vikings are just blowing smoke hoping Tampa or St Louis trades up to 3.

um you take the LT at 8 but that would suck from a fan stand point because most of you people dont understand the importance of o line play. look at the steelers...pretty much a top 3 team in every aspect except OL. even the best quarterback cant play from his back.

    I'd be ok with Kalil.
Everything on offense starts with the line. Running backs are a dime a dozen. Give me a great o line and Ill show you a great rb.
With a s**t o line you cannot have good qb play or a good running game. period.

Everyone wants the flashy guys. That's not what puts points on the board or wins games, just take a look at the packers.

Not sure if serious. Rodgers won a ring with no line practically.

We get another first round pick in a trade down if that happens.

Claiborne 3, Richardson at 4, Blackmon at 5, St. Louis will probably take him. The Bucs then in their trade down go for their second-rated CB.

If Kalil is there at #8, Dolphins have to think long and hard about taking him and trading Jake Long.

And before i get killed, think about it. I love Jake, but his injury worries me, and he is the highest payed player in this team at LT. His contract is due, and he will want at least as much as he is making, if not more. If they shop him around and someone is willing to give the team a #1 pick, then i feel you take Kalil and trade Long for that pick.

You gotta take him there. I can definitely see someone that should be in the top 5 falling to us. Blackmon??? Somebody takes Floyd instead? I love the idea of trading back and getting a David DeCastro, Chandler Jones, Mark Barron, Luke Kuechly, etc. plus another 2nd day pick. There will be some solid talent available on day two. CBs, WRs, OL and maybe a guy like Lindley...

I would truly hope that they wouldn't take him. There's usually a handful of guys who could arguably be BPA at 8.
