Yeah, it's going to be tough. There's at least 7 teams in front of us who could use a CB. There's a bunch of opportunity for trades too. I wouldn't be shocked if the Pats took a risk and moved up to grab him. I honestly thought they might gamble in round 1 considering they had two picks.
Pure homerism for me, but if Crick or David are still on the board, I take them. Crick is a steady player, he can get to the QB with regularity, and does a decent job playing 2 gap. 166 total tackles, 29.5 TFL 20.5 sacks in his career. Not too shabby for a guy who was playing in a 2 gap system IMO Lavonte David is just an instinctive player. He seems to be near the ball at all times. 285 total tackles, 24.5 TFL, 11.5 sacks in 2 years. I realize these are pipe dreams, but stranger things have happened, and there are better players on the board as of now. EDIT: Don't forget about Dennard's dumb butt as well. He may have to adjust his game a bit but he fills a need as well.
I still think we draft 2 WR's...I just am not sure if the 2nd rounder will be it. I have a feeling our 3rd and 4th or 3rd and 5th will be WR's. I'm just curious who Ireland was trying to get back into the first for.
And the big part is Miami isn't even trying to hide it. Philbin has been talking about it forever now. Even tonight they did: http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sport...joe-philbin-unfiltered-on-ryan-tannehill.html Bobby Massie.........come on down...your the next contestant on the Price is Right! Hell if DeCastro got by the Steelers I thought there was a real chance Miami was going to get back into the first round to go after him. Ireland even mentioned trying to get back into the round but that it didn't work out.
I don't see it. Glenn is 345lbs and growing. They want smaller more athletic linemen (which is why I think Jerry is toast). Massie is 6'6" and 316lbs and has the ability to play right or left. Miami also spent a load of time with him. I can't see them going guard there especially when Brooks might be there in the 3rd.
More food for the fire. NFL.com's own 2nd round mock done after the draft has us going after Massie also. http://www.nfl.com/draft/story/0900...er-still-available?module=HP11_content_stream They have us bypassing Upshaw, Curry and Janoris Jenkins (who quite frankly is sliding hard).
Would rather draft some playmakers, but there's not much we can do. Despite drafting 76 O/D lineman in four years, we still need more... Hope Tommy Streeter survives round 2. They have him going to Houston, which seems like a good fit. Speaking of the U, anyone know where Travis Benjamin projected to go?
I like Jenkins, Curry, Upshaw for the D and WRs Hill and Jeffery but also feel the draft is deeper for those possitions particularly WR. Make every effort, even if it means moving up, to get Fleener!
Hopefully a playmaking WR if there is not one there then Oline. We have to build around Tannehill or taking him was a big waste.
If they really expect Tannehill to start this year then by all means go OL. Otherwise go with the skill positions this year and shore up the OL next year through FA and the draft.
I'm really hoping for Hill over somebody on the OL. I'm tired of OL picks, I think we have enough pieces on the line right now to not go with our 2nd pick. We need some people that can get the ball into the damn endzone, cause at this point we dont have to much of that.
I think the Colts will pick Fleener. I hope for Curry or Jeffery (if he can get it together). I really want Sanu, but don't know if he'll still be there in round 3. Tannehill to Sanu just sounds so good to me.
WR who needs to score? We have Tannehill now. Hate to say it but Oline should be looked at. Protect our investment. My liking would be someone to help opposite of Wake. Anyone notice the Pats went 2 picks on D? Passrush. They are going to be after Moore and if he gets hurt we might have to use Tannehill to early.
No way Fleener is still there at #42 IMHO. But, if he is...I would LOVE to see him teamed up with Tannehill for the next decade.
I didnt think he would get past the Giants but.... Also I dont see Den or Indy taking him, but Buff??
Tannehill Guys I life the dolphins but in so sick of the front office we have, the last couple drafts have been terrible, I'm sorry but Ryan tannehill is not the answer to our problems I promise you this will haunt the franchise another icefive years. Shoulda beefed up the defense so that we could at least grind out a few games til a good web is avavailable .
Today's game is all about the pass, and defending the pass....IMO I want.... 1) Fleener 2) Jenkins 3)Upshaw
You gotta look pass rusher today. Fleener is the only wildcard, because he is the best TE in this draft. Short of him, WR talent will be there in the 3rd round, pass rushing will most likely not be as good in the 3rd. You need to target Curry or Branch with the 42 as pass rushing is an imperative need.
A mock in NFL.com showed Upshaw not going until the jets at 47, could we possibly pass him up if he's still there?
Thing with Fleener is he cannot block at all. If we are going to look at him, we should trade down and target Dwayne Allen.
Often, a team's drafts are influenced by what their division rivals are doing. Not only the Pats, but the Jets (Coples) and the Bills (Williams) are making their passrush better. Stands to reason we will be shoring up the OL.
I think these type of people are negative and ***** about everything in their lives. I have my questions about the pick but, I'm still excited about the pick, no doubt the kids got tallent. I trust our new staff and I will slowly gain confidence in Irish if he keeps doing the right thing.
He certainly has the size to block and with some Philbin assistance (OL coach) he could become one I would think
RAMS; COLTS; RAVENS; BRONCOS; BROWNS; JAGUARS; RAMS; PANTHERS; BILLS From that order I think there will be a run on wide receivers. Weapons for Bradford,Luck, Flacco,Manning,Weeden,Gabbert,Newton, and even the bills with the offense gailey runs. Due to this I think we go oline or de here.
I'm still very concerned about our WR corp, but no one we draft can be expected to make a big impact right away. That said, I guess getting the best OT we can is the best move. As has been pointed out, our divison rivals are loading up on the pass rush and we had better be able to handle it. I'd like to trust Murtha, but he can't stay healthy. All that said, if Fleener falls he would be BPA and we should grab him. He would be the ONE passing weapon to make an immediate impact.
