    How was that Nappy? Seriously?

Did it have a descent storyline or did they try and just re-hash Clash and extend it out?

Story line wasn't great by any means. But I took my girl to see it, and it was a fun movie.

I watched 1408 with John Cusack yesterday. It was ok, should have made it rated 'R' and added some more scariness imo. I'll have to check out the novella by Stephen King and compare.

Just watched Unstoppable. Kinda exactly what I expected, Denzel as an old, almost retired/fired civil servant who has to go against "the man" to be a hero. Nevertheless, was entertaining. My main beef was if
they were able to just drive up along the side of the train and jump in the caboose the whole time, why was that not the first or second or third plan and only a last resort? I realize the doofus's at the beginning tried it but it seems like the best and easiest option. And they can't make the speed argument because by the time they did it at the end they said they were going 70 again, which was faster than it was going the rest of the time.

    Been Netflixing it lately...

Half Nelson - Ryan Gosling killed it. Awesome.

Before the Devil Knows You're Dead
    - it was OK although Phillip Seymour Hoffman was outstanding. Plus Marisa Tomei is naked a lot.

The Way - Cool little movie about a father finishing a trek for his son.

Transsiberian - very thrilling movie. had me at the edge of my seat the whole time. Plus I think I love Emily Mortimer.

Loved the Avengers. I will say I love Edward Norton and he is one of my favorite actors and I was so upset when I found out he would not be in the avengers, rather Mark Ruffalo would be the Hulk instead. After watching the Movie, I am glad they casted Ruffalo. He is a great hulk, and imo a better fit for that character then Norton.

I was telling this to my friends on the way out of the theater.

Still good though, and thankfully puts xmen/fantastic4 to shame.

    The Avengers.

The thing about the Avengers is that it's like 2 and a half hours long but it's never boring. The big action pieces are of course well done, but where the movie shines is in the quiet parts. Joss has taken what should be the slow parts of the movie and filled them in with this rich and wonderful dialogue - the dialogue between Loki and Black Widow, Steve Rodgers finally getting a joke ... it's just wonderful. The film doesn't have the weight or gravitas of the Dark Knight, but this is the Avengers ... it's not necessarily about grit and realism, more about shiny suits and color splashed up on screen. Wheedon has done what I thought impossible - make a movie that's better than the sum of its parts. While I had liked Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, and Captain America, they were all just slightly disappointing, some (Hulk) more so than others (Iron Man). That's not the case here, as the movie just goes all out and is confident in itself from the get go. There's nothing shoehorned in here - and because they've done the backstory in the other movies, Avengers just roars to life. I had my worries about being able to balance such a large cast, but I should have known better.

If I had one quibble with the film it's that the 3D doesn't really serve any additional purpose. There's a couple of neat effects, but on the whole I don't think it really added to the experience. Otherwise though I don't think there's anything that could have been done better, save for the Fantastic Four or the X-Men showing up in the final act ... ah well, perhaps another time ...

I'm most certainly going to be going back to the theater for this one. There's so many things that I missed the first time around - and so many deft touches that were just perfect. While the other Marvel films lately have been singles and doubles, Wheedon knocks this one out of the park. 5 out of 5 stars.

I was waiting for Bill Pullman to high-five Nick Fury.

Pretty much all of those movies are awful, imo. But I did like the new xmen movie for the most part.

Saw The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Rooney pulled off an amazing acting job, perhaps the best female lead in a decade. Movie was excellent, with the exception of some really poor plot holes.

The ushers must hate these comic book movies that make people stay all the way through the credits. Can't start cleaning up til everyone has left.
