They traded their 4th round pick, their sixth round pick this year, plus a 2013 sixth rounder.... they gave up more than what they got in trading down yesterday LOL... oh boy. I don't get it.

I'll say it again for about the 50th time in the past 3 days, we just don't understand the draft.

I get it. I like it. To get a player like Lamar in the 4th is great.

We are going high tempo offense and you need speed as they said on ESPN, he is a game breaker, I like it.

So...the only conclusion I can come to, is Miami is planning on the 49ers cutting Ted Ginn before camp and then bringing him in as our #1.

running back was one of the last positions I thought we'd address... Bush, Thomas, Slaton was resigned. We went local again.. guess we need the Canes' fans to show up for us this year.

Bush is in the last year of his contract. Not all these picks are for today. Besides Miller as a runner is probably rated higher than all the remaining WRs.

We don't necessarily need a 1 in the spread.

    Gates is our speed guy.

Not so, keep in mind Philbin maybe was serious about not having a #1 Wr, do think we could use a Joe Adams type, then again that could be Clyde Gates.

LOVE this Miller pick, dude is 6'1 and 215 and runs how fast?

So, in conclusion we are giving up on Daniel Thomas after spending a 2nd rounder on him last year because he doesn't fit the exact measurables in this new offense. interesting

even if we don't have a true #1 receiver, don't you think we need a WR that can be a gamebreaker and be a threat to defenses? At least Green Bay had Jennings and Nelson. We have Hartline, Bess, and Naanee. scary.

Were you expecting us to find a #1 in the 4th? I mean, that would be great. But if thats the case, how about we give last years 4th rounder more then 1 injury riddled season.

No, what we are doing is maximizing a strength at Rb, think pooled carries not a feature back

DTrain, Bush, Miller, lots of Rb talent for Philbin to lean on

Not at all, we are bringing in talent. People have been screaming we need speed and game breakers, we draft one and everyone is saying why? You play a high tempo offense, you sub in a lot of guys.

My only objection is trading up and giving up picks. Am I crazy to think we could have had Miller with our original pair of 4th round picks?

My quibble is taking Vernon over Miller at first, strategically that makes little sense imo

Lots of HB power to lean on in a new West Coast offense?!? That doesn't make a bunch of sense. I understand drafting for the future and we got great value here, but still you pass on Marvin Jones, Marvin McNutt, and Nick Toon?

Our next pick isn't until 145, so I doubt all those guys are there when we get our next pick...

If we are going to run a similar offense to Green Bay's then it seems likely, obvious at this point, they don't value a #1 WR like the rest of the league, or at least the pundits, do. Who thought Jordy Nelson was a #1 WR going into last year? It doesn't matter in that offense. You just need to get open. Hartline and Bess, while not prototypical #1s, can get open. Having said that, I still think the position is a need. But I thought RT and QB were bigger needs. And now that I think about RB, Daniel Thomas was not good and Reggie is in the last year of his deal. So I don't mind addressing the position.

Hello people - this is my first post - trying to keep up with the draft from England is very difficult! Please keep me updated.....Where are the WR's? I like Lamar Miller but was kinda hoping for a Criner or a McNutt....

    Here and there
    :omg:

They are building a team with a new offensive and defensive system. I didnt know that 2012 was going to be the last draft EVER. Oh yeah thats right there will be one next year AND free agency, so try not to jump off any bridges...wellll.

Are we going to win a superbowl this year? Very unlikely, this is going to be a few years in the making and we cant get everyone we want or need this year. Relax

Miller is a more natural runner than Bush and Thomas...don't mind the pick, but a tad confused on the plan.
