Criner would be an awesome pick up. I'm from Tucson and have seen him play in person many times. He is a beast and can make the big catches too. Has a nice vertical and he's pretty damn strong. Has good explosiveness just not the fastest on the top end but he's a thick powerful dude

Criner has a very good VL at 38 1/2, but his shuttle was 3rd worst and his 3 cone was tied with McNutt for the worst among WRs at the combine. When WRs are not blazing fast, it's nice to see them have at least a good 3 cone.

I love his hands though. Don't see many players make as many insane catches as he does. I'd just hope he can get separation against NFL corners.

If we take him I won't complain.

Greg Childs is another one I'd like. If he hadn't been recovering from a torn patella tendon as senior, I think he could have been up among the top 6-8 WRs.

Chris Givens is apparently going to be targeted by the Rams at the top of 4.

Greg Childs and Marvin Jones would be the two I'd target.

It could just be all the Wisconsin games I watched this season or the bloodlines, but I love me some Nick Toon.
Boomer, what's your take on him? How productive of a pro do you think he can be?

I just want a receiver that runs precise routes and can catch anything. Don't care about size or speed.

For the record, I'm good with getting Criner, even if mostly as a red zone threat. We need a big WR that can catch a fade (anyone know if Tannehill is good at throwing that pass?) or outjump a defender. Other than Egnew being a weapon for us, I'm resigned to having no real replacement for Marshall this year.

Homer pick? I'm guilty of those too....I think Toon and Cunningham come off the board before McNutt

I have consistently said McNutt is the only Hawkeye I would select in this draft. I don't feel it's a homer pick as much as I just really think the kid is special.

He'd have to be a logical target for the 5th round now, looking at who's left. If we pass him over, then it makes you wonder what his former OC and our current WR coach thinks about him.

The deeper we go without picking a WR you soon think "is it worth it with whats left?" Maybe with a fully healthy Gates we wont be drafting one.

Criner reminds me of James Pruitt. Fast, tall, athletic, makes great catches, but according to the scouting report...very inconsistent.

Moot point. The Raiders just took him.

there are still many WR's available, I'm sure they're looking
    however
never saw the need & still don't

    we plenty to build on:

WR: Clyde Gates (stretch the field), Brian Hartline (go-to), Davone Bess (slot), Legedu Naanee (vet/comp), Roberto Wallace, Julius Pruitt (excelent height & speed), Marlon Morre

Te: Anthony Fasano, Michawel Egnew, Charles Clay (three that can be used in the 3-TE set) Jerod Mastrud

Receiving RB's: Bush, Thomas & Martin

Remember we're going to be using a West Coast Offense

can we nominate that mike80 guy and the 23rd for worst posters? We have just about the worst group of WRs in the NFL yet you manufacture a positive out of every single one of our WRS. Just becase you know the names of our practice squad players doesn't make them any good. The only WR any other team would want from our group is bess and that's only as a third or fourth WR.
