    That isn't really the problem.

The problem for Miami is that their entire offensive identity was pick n roll with Bosh. It worked great because Bosh is one of, if not the, most effective mid-range shooter in the league. You had to shade Bosh to get a hand in his face. That would give LeBron/Wade room to actually get into the paint and attack the rim.

Now, you are trying to run the play with Joel Anthony. Anthony will never take a mid-range jumper, nevertheless make one. So Roy Hibbert just sags into the paint and the ballhandler has no room to operate.

Per usual, this isn't some psychological issue with the team. They just need to figure out how to run some legitimate NBA offensive sets. Putting the ball in Wade's hands and expecting him to score 1-on-5 isn't a legitimate NBA offense. Putting two big men on the floor that have 0 offensive game makes things extremely difficult. Playing LeBron at the 4 means that he's going to have a very hard time being dominant offensively.

Not that I want to get rid of Wade in the first place, but amnesty?

There are plenty of teams dying for the jolt that Wade would give them. He would still bring a very nice package in a trade.

Trade him for a 30 year old SG that can't consistently stay healthy?

As much as I like Wade, I can't see him carrying a team at this point in his career. He just isn't consistently healthy enough.

Wade is, deservedly so, getting a ton of **** from last night, but seriously.....Battier!? WTF! There were times when Indy was like "who gives a ****, let him shoot"...wide open, and barely nips the rim. It was embarassing last night.

I agree, I am not saying solely Wade, I dont think the Heat should trade Wade...

I was more talking about Orlando and D12...

This is definitely one of the biggest games of his career. Last night was his WORST game ever as a member of the Miami Heat. Just an all around putrid, uninspiring performance that reeked of laziness and apathy. He needs to come out with a fire on Sunday.

Thing about the Heat is right now, if Wade and LBJ have any sort of bad games they are screwed...think about it....

It is at the point right now where D-Wade AND LBJ both have to have 25+ point games AND somebody else has to do what Chamlers did last night to win... that's tough when you think about it....at what point do Wade and LBJ start to get tired?

In all fairness to our team we are two massively bad third quarters away from being ahead 2-1 if not possibly 3-0, because who knows how that 4th plays out last night if we aren't jacking up 3's the entire time.

LOL as an Orlando fan I would do that in a ****ing heartbeat! Even though I can't stand his whiny ***, I'd love to have Wade on the Magic that way we would get almost every foul call imaginable.

Yep, now Stephen A. is throwing this rumor out there to see if it sticks. Almost as big of a deal as the Heat canceling practice. Which means absolutely zilch...

Funniest thing mentioned was using the amnesty on Wade, followed by trading him.

You don't do that with the second best player in the NBA. You KEEP him.

If he is, it won't be for much longer. His style of play goes down hill very quickly after 30.

He'll need to adjust his style of play but I still think he can be at worst top 5 in the league.

He's already developed a good post game.

Um you were saying? This stone you speak of is crumbling...

Now, I hope the Heat get it together. I new this wouldn't be a cake walk, hopefully the day off today will give them rest and time to get their minds right and get back to playing Heat winning b-ball...

    Let's Go Heat!!!

I think that's a little optimistic. Look at guys like Carter, Tmac, etc. Once their athleticism went, that was it.

Now they probably weren't as good as Wade, but they were probably better equipped than Wade to handle old age. (Both have better jumpshots, both are much larger, etc.)

I hope not, but this is why especially with the Heat, I don't get to cocky, anything can happen......If we play like we did yesterday it's over....

    @Mainge:

You could point to those guys, but at the same time you look at Kobe and MJ and see how they handled it. I don't think it'd too much to think he could do the same. They both transitioned well with the post up they use/used. Watching Wade this season, he's done pretty well from the post.

Both of guys had extremely efficient jumpshots, especially Kobe. The second Wade can't get to the basket, he's useless. Not so with those two.

Are you willing to bank on Wade becoming a better shooter at 30+?

both MJ and Kobe's jump shooting improved after 30. I don't know that for fact, but it sure seemed like it.

I was actually going under the assumption that he was a good mid range jump shooter, lol. It wasn't until I took a look at his stats that I realized he was not very good there.

I probably wouldn't bet on it, no.

It's unfortunate that there's not a readily available breakdown of shooting percentage by distance outside of the last few years because that'd be interesting to see.

Going by 3pt%, looks like Kobe stayed relatively within his career averages, whereas MJ did improve significantly in his last few years with Chicago before regressing with Washington. I'm not going to put much stock in what he did with Washington, though.

It does make sense for gradual improvement to occur in jump shooting as you take more and more reps throughout the years, but I question whether significant improvement is something that should be expected within reason.
