This game is not very good. Spurs defense is painful to watch (as Ibaka gets an easy shot at the rim bc the SAS were slow to rotate).

I would say he can be better offensively then Camby was but he has to work on his game. His ability to handle is excellent for a player his size. His shot blocking and rebounding skills are a serious problem.

OKC is a fun team to watch, i fully expect them to win Saturday. Just not sure they can win in S.A.

Well as a Wizards fan I've had to watch us get leapfrogged many times, and in years where franchise players were right there to take so I know a lot about the pain of the draft lottery. I don't think even if the NBA was rigging the draft that they would be able to prove it or pin it on anyone, I think the fact that its behind closed doors (why?) and suspicious teams wind up with the top picks more often than not just feeds the people out there that believe the NBA rigs things. If they were more open with the process everyone would have a lot more faith. A live broadcast with the picks made in front of the world would seem to be fairly easy to do and I don't see any reason not to do it that way.

Yea I never understood why they do it behind closed doors, seems weird to me.

    Watch how I do this:

    1. Hornets: no need, they got it rigged for them.

    2. Bobcats: Gotta help Michael Jordan, who helped the league so much. Team has lost value, need to help keep that franchise viable. Gotta hook him up.

    3. Wizards: Ted Leonsis was a big ally of Stern in the lockout negotiations. He paid a premium for the franchise and has lost some of it. Big investor in the league. gotta hook him up.

    4. Cavs: Dan Gilbert was on the negotiating committee and helped Stern draft the final proposal. He is the owner that has lost the MOST franchise value in the last year, and he is one player away from playoff contention. gotta hook him up.

    5. Kings: A team that was almost bankrupt, and has arena issues. The most attractive relocation franchise in sports. Seattle is rumored. The talent level is hugging that 8th seed line. They can really use a can;t miss prospect to put them over the top and save the franchise, for one of Stern's most favored owners in the Maloofs. Gotta hook them up.

    6. Warriors: The NBA's most loyal fanbase, and a team that has an arena deal on the horizon as they make a short relocation to San Francisco. Gotta hook them up, for the move to a new market.

    7. Raptors: The NBA's only international franchise, with a very loyal fanbase paying premium prices. In recent years, they have faded, and a quick infusion of talent is just what they need. Gotta hook them up.

    8. Pistons: One of the NBA's most important markets, in an impoverished region. Some of the NBA's boom times have come during Piston runs. Fallen on hard times, and if you couple Anthony Davis with Greg Monroe, they make the playoffs, no questions asked. Gotta hook them up.

    9. Suns: Knocked on the door of the playoffs this past year, and Phoenix is one of the NBA's best markets. Anthony Davis is such a good fit that it would insure a Steve Nash resign, and with their cap space, they can contend almost right away. Gotta hook them up.

    10. Bucks: A traditional NBA staple, with a loyal fanbase, and a talent base that has had them knocking on the door of the playoffs. Oddly enough, the one piece they are missing for a very quick vault to as high as a 4 seed is a defensive minded big man. One of the best young back courts, and an emerging front court, the Bucks are a piece away from being in the conversation for a top half seed. Midwest small markets are essential for teh NBA to thrive. Gotta vault one franchise into contention. Gotta hook them up.

    See?

You left out the Nyets...Gerald Wallace keeps changing his mind to opt in or opt out. Deron Williams/D12 rumor persists and this would be icing to make the Nets a serious contender in a market with an embedded team. Makes for an attractive alternative to Dolan's sky high prices. Gotta hook Proko up or Russia attacks. #KeepThePeace

Portland...Davis next to Aldridge for the next 10 years? Paul Allen has the resources to keep and build around Davis in a very underrated market. Gotta hook him up.

The issue is that you don't just "hook someone up". The only time you are going to rig something is when it hooks a majority of owners up.

How could I forget the Nyets? Although, they can hook themselves up with their cap space. They get D12 and keep Deron, that would be a sexy franchise, and it gives them a decent shot at facing the Heat in the ECF's.

Well the idea is that the #1 would have given them all they needed to get D12 with Lopez and fillers. They have ended up with D12-Deron-Wallace-Marshon Brooks...Not bad at all for a team trying to come in to an already established major market and grab the fencejumper-type fans and fans sick of Dolan.

BTW, hilarious argument I just had...

I spent almost 10 minutes arguing with a Knicks hater, that next years ECF will be Knicks vs. Heat. He says no. I say yes.

    So we made two bets:

I have OVER 49.5 wins for Knicks. (even)
    I have Heat - Knicks ECF, I get 3-1.

Think about it. The EC will be barren next year. Indiana is gonna be the team? really? (remember that Rose is out all year next year, or will be extremely limited with a playoff return)

I think if the NYK come back with the same or similar roster and same 3 big contracts (Tyson-Melo-Stat) you will split the bet at best...over 49.5 wins but now ECF. I truly dont think that Tyson and Stoudemire can co-exist and the stats back me entirely on that. Having Tyson makes Stoudemire entirely ineffective and inefficient offensively which is where Amare's value lies. I honestly have 0 belief having watched that team all year that those two players can play together. Stoudemire shot around 40% (slightly under) with Tyson on the floor and over 50% much of the year with Tyson off the floor. That means its going to fall on Carmelo again which is fine until he gets blamed for (rightfully) not having faith in his teammates to knock down shots consistently.

I can't see the Knicks anywhere close to the ECF either.

As for the Nets, they should of known better signing Billy King in the first place. They get what they deserve signing that blistering idiot. Trading Favors, 2 first rounders, and Harris for a year and a half of Deron. Then traded the 6th pick in a talented draft for 16 games of Gerald Wallace. They're my early favorites for worst team in the NBA next year once Deron leaves.

    Then the questions are:
    A) Who they get back?
    B) How bad the contracts(s) are?
    C) Are the players any good

Regardless, Im still not convinced that any team can win a title with a 14.5M player on the roster who does very very little offensively. As much as I like what Chandler brings defensively thats only half the deal. For that price tag you should be able to play offense and D.

Which one of these teams did the NBA own that traded away one the best PGs in the game? Which team did the league own that they needed to sell to pay back the league? Sorry but no matter what spin you take on it the Hornets were the team the league wanted to get the number one overall pick IF they were choosing who gets the pick. If they got lucky with the lottery balls thats all good but theres not even a single argument to the fact that the league wanted Davis in NO more than anywhere else. If that team had say the 6th pick that fanbase has no real hope and no hype and the new owner is scrambling to sell tickets or waiting another year or two in the lottery for the face of the franchise.

Amazing how you're just writing them off! Looks like they're quite capable of beating the crap out of the Heat to me and given how long they've played together, I think the Heat BETTER wake up QUICK.

I'm not at all saying they will but it amazes me how some Heat fans think sometimes. I mean down by 20 and still pounding chests....
