He was suspended three times. 2 for failing the wellness policy, which is why he still has a job. I am glad he is off TV too. He is stale and boring, needs to reinvent himself imo.

 

Yeah I agree, same with Cena. They both have been doing the same thing for almost 10 years and they're both boring. They really should have taken Cena off TV after the Lesnar attack and had him return for the 3 hour RAW.

This is definitely good news. And unlike the deal where he was supposed to be gone for a movie but got dropped for being a failure at life this will actually happen.

 

You'd think guys wouldn't be dumb enough to fail a drug test a 2nd time. The word is he failed for both weed (which is only a $2500 fine) and steroids.

Honestly outside of 3 months in 2010, I believe, I've never been a fan of him. Now with Miz and/or Ziggler having nothing to do why not let one of them feud with Zack Ryder or turn one of them face and have them feud with each other. I think fans are really itching to cheer for Ziggler, if done the right away I think he could reach Daniel Bryan overness in a short period of time, much like Bryan himself.

 

Yeah I feel like Orton in general is not nearly as big as he was suppose to be. He was the man in Evolution. That fraction was created to get Orton over, but what happens? Batista is the one that gets his big break. Also he was over shadowed by Cena.

Well a lot had to do with how Orton was originally booked with Evolution though, once he won the WWE title from Benoit they turned him babyface which went against his character and they immediately had him lose to Triple H (shocking huh?) at the very next PPV and it took awhile for Orton to get back on track from that. The WWE just booked Batista perfectly and fans believed and bought into him (it didn't hurt that he was friends with Triple H and Triple H made him look like a million bucks in the ring too when he got his initial monster WWE title run), plus Batista really improved each year with his in ring skills too. Batista had the "it" factor.

I think the main problem with Orton is that he's kind of vanilla/boring. He has the look and a great finishing move but he's not very good with the mike nor in the ring. Don't get me wrong, the guy has had a very good WWE career but you're right he could have been much bigger than he is. A lot could be due to his multiple injuries and suspensions though too. A lot of his pushes got derailed by injuries.

 

His face run was terrible. Really ruined him imo. When you look back at Ortons career I think you are going to be like, he had a great career but it could have been so much better. More memorable. Like you said, injuries and suspensions did not help

 

The face turn was ill timed.

You have Benoit beat HHH. Then defend the title against a heel HHH who has his Evolution group backing him. Orton gets the call to beat him AS A HEEL. Then gets turned on after by the very same heel group that he was a part of without any reason what so ever.

What reason did the crowd have to get behind Orton? Inmost people's eyes...they were happy to see him get his *** kicked since he was a lying, cheating SOB to begin with and would continue doing that until someone else decided he should be out of the group.It was a clunky, lack of psychology type turn. It was doomed to fail.

 

Sad thing with Orton first title win is, you will never see that match on any Randy Orton DVD in the future because of Benoit

 

It's ok, no one buys his DVDs anyway.

Well this is kind of interesting:

Over the weekend Dolph Ziggler had Mason Ryan as his body guard during his matches at house shows. After the matches he claimed he got rid of the dead weight (Vickie Guerrero and Jack Swagger) and is now with greatness (Ryan). He had matches over the weekend with Zack Ryder and many in attendance said they stole the show.

Both guys have crazy good chemistry together, what I'd do is have Dolph win the US title tonight, announce Ryan is his new bodyguard and then work a program with Zack Ryder until Summer Slam when Ziggler works with Cena.

 

CM Punk apparently is claiming there's a new WWE Championship belt that has been made and will be used soon, thus finally getting rid of the ugly spinner belt. Yay, although they should have had the new belt at Summer Slam or the RAW when he returned.

 

I was there live when Randy Orton burst out of the celebration cake. That segment was so boring.

For all the Orton haters, his days in the WWE may be numbered. Rumor has it he had a meeting with McMahon, Triple H and Kevin Dunn on Friday and it didn't go well. McMahon is apparently livid with Orton for his 2nd suspension as he thought he was finally mature. The WWE signed him to a 10 year deal back in 2010 but now they're worried about keeping him in the main event due to the suspension as another one would lead to "getting fired" (word is the way the Wellness Policy is written if you get caught 3 times you have to leave the WWE for 1 year and they have the option to bring you back afterwards). They feel his contract wouldn't be worth it if he's in the mid-card.

So here's hoping Orton screws up again and soon.

 

Yup beating up Michael Cole and pouring BBQ sauce on him is going to sell No Way Out for sure! (But it might sell some of JR's sauce!).

And the WWE wonders why no one watches anymore....

 

Raw is terrible during the summer time I guess. It's brutal... Also if big show/cena main events nwo I'm going to be pissed... Also glad to hear new wwe title in the works

Of course Cena/Big Show is going to main event the PPV. Since Punk won the title back in November, he's main evented a total of 1 PPV and that happened to be the one PPV Cena wasn't wrestling in. Punk may be the champion but he's still 2nd fiddle to Cena.

 

So considering the rumors a few months ago about teaming Kane up with diva, Kane + AJ possibly? Seems to make sense but Ive only been loosely following Raw lately.

 

I wish they would team Kane up with the Fabulous Moolah instead....

 

He could have a hand baby with her, and then his hand baby could fight Mark Henrys hand baby...and yes! YES! YES!

Looks like Punk has seen the new title and says its not much better then the current. At the 33:05 mark is where it starts. Makes me think its true and man WWE has not style when it comes to creating belts now a days. The classic one is 10x better. The WWE and Tag Team titles are easily the ugliest titles in the WWE and they are all newer, same with the Diva belt.

 

Yeah I wouldn't bet against that being the new belt, like you said Punk said it wasn't much better. I wish they would just bring back the "eagle' belt from the late 80s to the late 90s.

And yes it's kind of sad and this is exactly why guys like The Rock were smart getting out of the business before they were both poor and their bodies broken down and beaten up.

 

I am hoping the WWE "Leaked this photo" to fool the fans and come up with a nice looking belt, and all of this is a big joke on the fans. Also Poor Virgil, i feel bad for the guy. Yeah I hate the people who think the rock betrayed the fans by leaving, he was smart and did what was best for him.

 

I'd be surprised if the WWE did that. Seems like way too much trouble for them to go through to fool the fans. I heard that it's possible that's what the belt looks like but they're going to add some color to it but who knows.

 

I actually like how the Tag Titles look. But that the WWE Title.... Yeah, I would be content if they back to the design they used for the Undisputed Championship.

 

It's probably because it's the era I grew up in but I always liked the way the titles (World, IC & Tag Team) looked in the mid 90s, I haven't liked any of the new ones since but I didn't mind the early 2000 version of the World title as much. I thought the undisputed title was ok but it didn't really have much character to it in my opinion.

Truth be told, I'm not a fan of the mid 90's IC Title. But I think that has more to do with the white strap that was used. (Or am I thinking of a different era?)

 

Michaels used the white strap every once and awhile but he's the only one that I can remember that used it, along with a light blue too. I know The Warrior used yellow at times as well.

 

Ugh... Yeah, I prefer black. On very few titles a different color strap would work.

 

Is their a boxing thread here on PHINS or am I just not looking correctly?

 

I agree black looked the best but I didn't mind every once and awhile for a big PPV match that the strap itself would be a different color.

Also adding to my previous post Goldust had a gold strap and The Ultimate Warrior also used white and blue straps for the World title.

And those are the exceptions, if only because it fits so well with the character.

 

Del Rio is out of the title match at No Way Out due to a concussion. There will be a #1 contender match on RAW tonight.
