Boston fans aren't the ones in here complaining, nor do they root for a team which gets babied by the refs 90% of the time. Contact happens on damn near every drive to the basket. Get over it and be thankful you're given the calls the vast majority of the time. I know I wouldn't be complaining if the 76ers got screwed only once in a blue moon, especially after the officiating in game 2.

This board is an off branch of the Miami Dolphins so one would expect more Heat fans to be here so, YOU, might need to get over it. All that BS about contact on nearly every drive to the basket. I never said anything about contact. I said, Lebron gets HACKED damned near everytime he drives to the basket. AND to add, I did not blame the refs for losing this game. But I do understand why you would want "regular players" to get the same calls though since Philly has no superstars. BUT thats something that has gone on forever in the NBA so get one or save it...

But you did crack me up saying how Boston fans don't root for a team that gets babied by the Refs! That's hilarious! Their fans cry about every single foul. Even after they watch a clear replay. They absolutely 100 percent possitively want to be babied by the Refs and get their fair share of ticky tack fouls.

Garnett is one of the dirtiest in the league. He uses an illegal screen almost every single time he sets one, and dude had 2 freaking fouls late in the fourth. And he goes nuts everytime he gets called. The Refs probably don't call so many because they're tired of hearing his mouth.

Every team's fans cry about every single call, not just Boston or Miami.

Watching tonight's game, I don't know how one can say it was one sided in terms of officiating. It was horrible on both ends. It evened out in the end and Boston came away with a well earned victory.

They took out our best player with his last three fouls which were total bull****. Those three fouls are what pisses me off the most honestly.

Foul #4 - Pierce tried to take a charge with his heel in the restricted area as James was driving to the hoop. Blocking foul on Pierce, not a charge on James.
Foul #5 - Garnett had a hold of James' arm and threw him to the ground... yet it's a double foul? That was sure as hell not a double foul.
Foul #6 - That was a flop. James wasn't overly aggressive by any means in the post and the Boston player (I am drawing a blank on his name, I think it was Pietrus) fell back and grabbed onto LeBron's torso and let gravity do the rest.

Some people don't like that Wade didn't draw the foul at the end but the refs weren't giving us that call all game... They gave it to Pierce when he did it and they gave it to Cole because he pretty much got smashed by Bass and they didn't have much of a choice. I know both LeBron and Wade tried to draw a three point foul and had as much contact as the Pierce foul but they got nothing...

This game was the worst officiated game I have seen all year. I expect the home team to get the calls but this was a disgrace to the NBA.

I understand your frustration, but I don't agree that the home team in this game got all the calls. They probably got more calls than Miami but not by much. Pierce fouled out, too. Rondo had 4/5 fouls. Bass had 5 fouls. The foul totals near the end of the game were close. Then there were questionable calls like the KG travel, which was a pathetic call.

This game all together sucked in terms of officiating. I don't believe one team had a major advantage.

Silly me for wanting NBA officials to what they're supposed to be doing, calling fouls consistently. LeBron getting HACKED every single time he attacks the paint is an exaggeration. I never said Boston fans don't root for a team that gets babied by the refs. I said they don't root for a team that gets babied by the refs 90% of the time, like the Heat. They played my team 7 times in these playoffs and I hate Boston more than any other team in the league. No refereeing complaints from me.

And Pierce fouled out on a Battier flop. **** happens. If this was the worst officiated game you've seen all year you must've only seen a few games all year, not including game 2 of this series.

The officiating in both these series are pretty appalling. The refs make a bad call then do a make up call which ends up being equally awful. Get your **** together refs, ****.

Pretty much. The refereeing in this game was bad. But it was just justice for the bad officiating in game 2.

This isn't what happens at all and I hope you know that. Give Spo some credit. There's no way to compensate for accidentally losing the ball, for instance.

All this whining about officiating is hilarious. It's like this is the first time you've watched an NBA game. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be as big a topic on this board if the Heat had somehow managed to score more than 2 points in the overtime period, and escaped with a win.

Yep, this stuff is very predictable, how the NBA does things and how fans react "surprised" when really, who could not see this coming?

thusly, "click" hopefully the Kings v Devils continues to be entertaining.

That is what happened in the last two offensive series before the end of the game and in overtime! I also have Spo the credit for getting them back from 18 down with his smaller lineup! I'm not calling for his head and I liked them going for a three to end the game!

I am not blaming the refs for the loss! I'm saying they made some stupid calls against both teams! Both Pierce and Lebron should have still be on the court in overtime! I do think Garnett should get called for his moving/grabbing/pushing off of screens! Call him for it two times early on and he'll have to stop doing it! It is a huge part of a player getting wide open shots! And yes, if a Miami player does it then call it as well!

The loss is on the Heat players, who played lazy, until the 3 rd quarter, once again!

The Heat both played poorly and the refs were atrocious.

The Heat didn't start defending until the 2nd half, which is what fueled their comeback. Offensively, they weren't even that terrible in the 1st half.

The last 3 fouls on LBJ were ridiculous and Wade could not get a call to save his life in the first half. Regardless, the Heat had several shots tow in the game and just didn't execute.

The last play of regulation was a poor play exacerbated by the wrong lineup for what they were trying to do. For the first time ever, Magic and Jon Barry had a point. We needed shooters on the court. We were playing for the last shot. No need for Haslem or even Battier. I would have used Jones and Miller, at least that way, a more natural shooter might be able to make something of a slightly off target pass like the one LBJ threw.

I felt the officiating was atrocious. Generally you expect bad calls on both sides with a slight home court advantage. I felt that the home court calls in this case were horrendously skewed well beyond the typical home court advantage. I think that if Miami gets a similar skew when they go home they'll win by double digits. They still had a chance to win though. I liked Wade's look at the end, but the plays at the end of the game and in OT were poorly conceived and executed. Really from about the point they tied it up, their offense became stagnant. I don't feel that Spoelstra did a particularly good job this game. His coaching is IMO under-rated, but last night he didn't do enough to help them win. And while they were never a great FT shooting team, when did they become a bad one? Despite the bad officiating, I would say that Miami's poor start and poor offensive finish coupled with their poor FT shooting cost them the game.

I said it on twitter, and Ill say it here.....the free throw shooting has become a mental monster imo. I think a good comparison was a couple of seasons ago when the dolphins defense dropped a crap ton of INTs....seemed like it became a mental thing as the season progressed....where they were telling themselves "dont drop it, dont drop it, dont drop it" and they of course, dropped it.

It may have reached that point with the heat on the stripe now.

I agree with this somewhat as even chalmers who was over 80% during the season has tailed off.

And they seem to be missing the front end for the msot part which to me indicates that it's a rhythm thing. You miss the first, then settle down and hit the 2nd.

Credit due to Boston. The play by Garnett on the last play of regulation was great. I thought it was a good play Spo drew up. Garnett just jumped James, then was able to still make it back to Haslem. There is a reason why he is the best defending PF of this generation.

Also credit due to Spo for the adjustments he made at half time. Norris Cole was big.

This is the Eastern Conference Finals. Nobody should have expected this to be easy. Either way, I can't wait to see one of those West teams face some real defense in the Finals.

The refs were horrible but the heat need to show up in the 1st half of playoff games. If they think they can just play in the 2nd half they have no chance of winning a title. I do think the nba is rigged to a certain degree though if you watch the tape on Lebrons 6 fouls in that game you would just laugh he had 1 legit foul. Also by just dumb luck I guess this happened to be the highest rated watched conference final game ever on tv so you can book refs taking this series 7 games. I expect the Heat to get huge ref support in game 5.

The NBA makes more money during a 6 or 7 game series than a 4 game series... obviously because of the extra games but also because people would rather tune into a series that could go either way than one where you know another team will win the series handily.

It's in the NBA's best interest to "rig" these games by questionable officiating. It is what it is.
