I don't know how after watching Manny tonight you could think it would be close. He had some good shots but not nearly enough and got tired. He wouldn't have landed nearly as many vs floyd and he would have gotten hit a hell of a lot more.

So your favorite fighter is a heavyweight and then Mayweather or so it seems because Manny has said lets fight for 5 years. Mayweather has made excuses.

No way in hell he wiped the floor with him.

It's all good, he was going to lose to Oscar, he was going to lose to Shane, he was going to lose to Hatton, he was going to lose to Ortiz... Yet he hasn't lost. People can doubt him all they want, fact is he wins and wins decisively.

Bradley was first told that many thought he lost. Then he was asked about a rematch. He said he would go home and look at the tape to see if he lost. lol

But to his credit, he did say he would welcome a rematch.

No one is saying Mayweather is not a good or great fighter but don't forget that Oscar said Pacman was the better fighter, Shane said no one hit him like Pacman, Cotto said Pacman was just too F'n fast and hit way harder than he ever thought he would. Then there is Hatton, who is still on the canvas, in la la land, after Pacman knocked him into the next century. Now that's decisive!!

Yeah except two of those same fighters actually fought both of them and they said Manny would kill Mayweather. I'll take their word, and my opinion over yours on this one.

Again Hatton took Mayweather 12 rounds before losing by TKO. Pacman knocked him out cold. To sleep even...

Cotto was totally bloodied up by Pacman.

Mosley buckled Mayweathers knees twice early on in their fight. Pacman knocked him on his *** and Mosley ran the rest of the fight.

Manny does not look like he trains hard enough now but I'm sure he'd be up for a fight with Mayweather and there is no way in hell, Mayweather would kill Pacman. He could win but it would go the distance. On the other hand, Mayweather has never had to fight a fighter like Pacman. Pacman could knock Floyd out!

I don't think Mayweather is running but that's another debate for another day.

Back to Pacman. BS. This was a setup.

Just because other fighters say something doesn't really make it true. It's pretty obvious Floyd doesn't always go 100%. So what's to say Floyd wasn't going maybe 60-70% against those guys and Manny was out to prove something and trying as hard as he could? Styles make fights and its silly to say that just because he took someone out quicker he would beat Floyd.

Im astonished. There have been controversial decisions where on my score card I agreed with the judges, so these decisions have never been a big deal to me. But those fights ....were actually close.

    I had it 9-3 Pac....like truly speechless.

I don't think there is much debate on Floyd ducking Pacman. Its very obvious.

However, I do think Floyd would beat him.

Yeah never mind the other fighters could just be blowing smoke. Let's just pretend thats not possible.
Mayweather is the better fighter. Defensively he is just better, not to mention manny would have to move in on mayweather, good luck doing that. That's mayweathers specialty.
The point is all the people that manny dominated, mayweather dominated as well. Moseley buckled mayweather oooooooooo big deal. Then the next round mayweather came out and dominated him the rest of the fight. Pacmans had fights where he's gotten whomped on, but that doesn't count to you? All the people that manny beat, mayweather beat earlier, when most of them were rolling. Mayweather is just the better fighter.

A pity really, more or less they took the belt from pac man b/c they can have more lucrative fights by bypassing him.

I had Marquez winning the first fight 9-3, the 2nd one was close and the last fight I had 8-4 Marquez.

I'm a big Manny fan but he lost 2 of those fights. He can't handle guys who have good movement and can counterpunch. That's why Mayweather would make Manny look bad.

Manny looks like the GOAT against guys that stand there or come at him (Cotto, Margarito, Hatton) but not so much against guys that move/counterpunch. Even in the Cotto beatdown the rounds where Cotto got on his bike behind his jab he won convincingly.

Arums a piece of ****. But the fight not happening has been on Mayweather. He has had 10 different excuses as to why the fight isn't happening. The latest being hes not taking a 50-50 split.

I agree that Mayweather would win though.

Also, Mayweather may need pain killing injections for his hands but do people really believe Manny is clean? I can't remember another boxer in history who has moved up weight and gained so much power. He hits waaayyyy harder and 147 than he did at 126.
People would have called you insane when he was fighting at 126 that he could move up to 147 and not only knock Cotto out but be physically stronger than him as well.

IMHO just about ever pro athlete is on something. I'm of the opinion that the ones not anything are in the minority.

Not at all. Those fights were highly competitive. This one was a barely competitive fix.

Perhaps 'karma' would be a better word? Two wrongs don't make a right though. Everyone loses in this.

    Boxing continues to ruin itself.

I just wish boxing would adopt the matchmaking that UFC uses. I know it will never happen but it would resolve a lot of issues. As it stands right now the one cash cow boxing had was a Floyd-Manny fight which is now pretty much dead. No other fight they could have made would get the buys.

The testing issue has been long settled.

But now that Manny is visibly past his prime, he's all ready to fight him.....but not for fair money.

Its been one excuse after another with Mayweather. What's sad is that now -- there's little question he'd beat Manny IMO. I don't know that I care to see it anymore. I wanted to see it 3 years ago, when both men were in their prime. Instead we'll get another Jones-Hopkins II.

I dunno. They're mostly fighting the same guys of late. The toughest fight of Floyd's career -- save for perhaps Castillo -- came against a guy Pacman battered and finished 3 years earlier. And Pac's toughest fights have been with a nemesis that Floyd dominated.

I think Mayweather wins now. If he was scared, he ain't anymore. But he keeps finding reasons not to give fans what they want and fight Pac.

I always go back to what Nazir Richardson said.

He said Manny's biggest achievement in moving up to welterweight is that he's convinced people that he's still the smaller man. Guy has tree trunks for legs. That's something you're born with.

Maybe he juiced and carries it well. Wouldn't surprise me and made sense at the beginning of the Mayweather negotiations. One theory I've had is that perhaps the start of Manny's decline coincided with him going off the juice once Floyd began prodding him about it.

Huh? Mosley fought Mayweather in 2010. Pacman fought him in 2011. Hatton fought Mayweather in 2007 and Pacman in 2009. Cotto fought Pacman in 2009 and Mayweather in 2012 so I don't get it? How the heck was Mayweather fighting them in their prime while Pacman wasn't? No one is saying that just because Manny may have done BETTER against them that he would kill Mayweather. It is in defense of the silly notion that you and others are saying that Mayweather would kill Pacman! Like it would be sooooooooooo easy for Mayweather. Pacmans defense is not terrible but his offense is something that Mayweather will have to be worried about.

As for Mosley. No one said that just because he rocked Mayweather that it is a forgone conclusion that Manny would destroy him. It is a simple comparison that says if Mosley could rock him then Manny could as well. You can say Mayweathers defense is just better but he can be hit and getting hit by Manny is like running into a truck!

    Exactly.

The Mayweather fans and their attitude that Pac would simply get destroyed is just ridiculous.

Fighters are supposdly tested but using a pain killer for each knuckle is something that every state but one do not accept. So he is indeed using it as an advantage. Floyd has also been accused of using steroids so its not just Pacman. I will say this though. I grew up around Filipino's, and they're a tough group and they come in many sizes. Just look at Pacman's calves and legs. I'm not saying he is absolutely clean but if he is not, or did use them to gain size at one point, then so could have Mayweather.

  35. Ozzy

Hell if he didn't! He was coming at Pacman in rounds 1-3 until he took about his 6th or 7th straight left which rocked him. Then he was on his bike for the rest of the fight. Which is another thing that should make the judges ashamed of themselves. It's long been said that a fighter who is on the run for most of a fight will not get favorable calls.

Dude even admitted to being rocked a few times!!!!!!!!!!!

Then after he goes into his dressing room he says, I did not feel his power. lmao

No it's not! It is dependent on AGE!

I underestimate Mayweather? You seriously need to go back and re-read this entire thread! I've never once said Mayweather would get destroyed! That was you saying it about Pacman! So the underestimaing is all on your part. Hell, I even said Mayweather could win. You however, say Manny would get destroyed which, if both fighters had fought in their primes, is total BS...
