As an Alabama fan, I can attest to the shoddy treatment of Bowden while at Auburn. Trust me, I was laughing the whole time because it isn't the way Auburn tends to operate. That was such a moronic move (even if Tuberville has also been great) that it seemed for a moment that Alabama coaching insanity had taken up nest with the Tigers. My only question with Bowden is desire. He could have had a good I-A job before now if he really wanted one.
Stop this thread now! SABEN can't get another job. Other than LSU, he has done nothing! He left us with Cam, he sucks.
I have to disagree with you on this statement. I think alot of teams in the big east are better now then they have been for yrs. The conference had six teams over .500 this year which IMO is a huge deal. Not to mention numerous top 25 rankings. BIG EAST Pct Overall Pct West Virginia 5-2 .714 10-2 .833 Connecticut 5-2 .714 9-3 .750 Cincinnati 4-3 .571 9-3 .750 USF 4-3 .571 9-3 .750 Rutgers 3-4 .429 7-5 .583 Louisville 3-4 .429 6-6 .500 Pittsburgh 3-4 .429 5-7 .417 Syracuse 1-6 .143 2-10 .167
Every time I hear about these coaching changes it makes me appreciate Kirk Ferentz so much more, and he just brought in another one of his sons to play Center for the Hawks so that almost guarantees another 4 years.
IMHO Saban made a decision " I'm not going to Alabama (remember)." Remember the old saying: YOU MADE THE BED, NOW SLEEP ON IT.
Dude is so competitive he won’t even let Bobby Petrino surpass him for most despicable coach in football for a full week. There are two ways the Saban rumors make sense: (1) He really is that unhappy with the pressure in Tuscaloosa already and realizes he is in over his head like he was in Miami. (2) Some very prominent West Virginia boosters are enraged that the administration let Rodriguez get away. One of them outlined Rodriguez's requests that had been turned down by the administration (about $200,000 in staff bonuses plus letting the players keep their textbooks) and said that the donors were ready to write the checks but were told not to. Some of the big checkbooks are now closing to the university, and one $12 million donation is about to be withdrawn. Perhaps the only way to calm the lynch mob is to get a big-name coach like Saban.
