I'm all in favor of stop talking about the stadium and uni being changed, and do something about it, cause the longer you wait, the more superbowls you lose, the more money your losing..I wish this owner would understand that if he could get a new stadium, build it correctly,it would be best for everyone involved.

All in favor of a uniform change..mos def

Nice to hear Bush talk about our young Qb.

Unless someone can prove that new uniforms will improve the won loss record, to even discuss them is a distraction and waste of time, IMO.

Screw changing the uniforms and instead upgrade the talent in the current uniforms.

I hope Ross doesn't butcher this uniform change.
Just tweak it, no radical changes please.

The uniforms we have aren't the problem...the wins and loss columns are. Id prefer we not wear pink tutus out there but if we go 16-0 Im sure no one here will give a poop.

Let Steve Ross spend the better part of his time worrying about uniforms, fight songs and stadium stuff. That's actually what he should be concerning himself with. Would you rather Steve Ross spend all his time talking about the need to find better talent, as if that's the problem he focuses a lot of his attention on? Is that really the road people want to walk down?

I just wish he had a better General Manager to focus on the talent issues than Jeff Ireland.

The last time I heard Mike Dee speak, he talked pretty candidly about their plans to move the stadium seating closer to the field. The thing to remember about that is the reason they couldn't do it until now was the Marlins. With the Marlins gone, now they can do that...and they're working on it. So I think this macho "put up or shut up" attitude is a little unfair in that regard. They've obviously wanted to do that for a while and they're getting on it in a timely fashion now that the Marlins are out.

The canopy idea is a new one. They had hoped to increase the fan experience by moving home kickoff times to 4pm instead of 1pm. Obviously, with the team losing, there was a fan backlash because the 1pm home kickoff times and the heat/humidity that go with are pretty ingrained down here as one of the reasons we were always so unstoppable at home in September and October. Miami fans haven't felt their team was "unstoppable" in any circumstance in years, so whether it's scapegoating or accurate assessment, the fans want the home advantage back. Yet they probably also don't really want to sit in the 1pm sun. That means Ross is going to have to open his pockets and try and get some shading above the seats. Miami fans should be pretty grateful for that but instead I sense more sense of entitlement.

Noone is saying that, but when you have lost the luster of a once proud franchise, change is eminent and neccessary, The time is now to try and generate some new fans and have a fresh kind of start..a subtle change in the Uni IMO is the right direction to go in..I say all this because the current fanbase as is, has not done enough to make any demands on what not to do..

Tell me why you would be so against a change that might look cool??

your right, they couldn't have done anything up until this point, but we've known that they were gonna be out when they were, a tangible plan could of been in place since the end of baseball season last year..but Hey, if they have no sense of urgency, i'm not the one losing hundreds of millions of dollars in missing superbowls in miami, which in theory is a ridiculous business decision, make the fu&$ing changes already.. I agree with you about the 1 o'clock stuff, while I think it's a football advantage, the fans at 1 o'clock are not in their seats, and the ones that are, are getting their *** kicked by the sun, so their sitting on their *** mostly, it's a horrible environment from an energy standpoint in a football stadium, absolutely the worst in the league by far, so the canopy idea like you said could be that compromise from both angles.

Or, might not look cool. Most of these newer uniforms such as the Nike stuff we saw samples of, look to me like something a swat team or Navy Seals might wear, rather than football players.
I think classic franchises should stick with their classic appearance. We don't see teams like Green Bay, Chicago, Oakland or Pittsburgh making any sweeping changes. When teams do that it is generally just a way to get fans to buy more merchandise. The only thing I'd do if it were up to me, is go back permanently to the 1970s uniforms. Always white pants, and rotate between the white and aqua jerseys depending on home or away, etc.
Another example is in baseball. The Yankees and Dodgers have not changed much of anything for decades. When the teams were in slumps, thankfully their owners didn't consider some uniform changes as necessary to fire up the fan base.
The best way to do that in their case or our case currently, was/is win more games. Improve the talent rather than mess around with the best uniforms in the league.

No, but the tastes are a little different than the 60s.

I get made fun of all the time for being a fan of a team with fruity uniform. That is from SEAHAWK FANS! They have lime green for god sakes.

Plus what does intellect have to do with liking a Dolphin with a mini helmet on, jumping through a sun?

I'm talking exactly those cool ones we saw from reebok, same colors, except for some new grey stuff, just more modern and sleek...that's all I'm talking about, now if you don't think those are cool, then we'll just have to disagree on what is or isn't cool. Personally I think their the sh&$ Big C.

I never liked the orange top uni but i've always loved the aqua green. Most teams have such generic team colors. This franchise will be back, no need to alter our classic look which is recognized across all sports...

Man, I wish they'd leave the uniforms alone, but if they're going to change something, it better be for next season. I'm not going to buy anything until the change happens and I'm sure others will do the same.

I think there is something to be said for keeping the traditional colors of some of the original franchises who had tremendous success, but I do think With our current situation, and how this fanbase has supported the team over the past decade or so, I would take that step into a more modern and sleek look..

This is to you and Rocky, let me ask you all this, are you telling that the uniform we currently wear on the road, with the ugly *** green or whatever the hell that color is, has any resemblance of our glory days, or is cool in any way?, I think the majority would say no on both accounts, so what I'm saying is they did change the uniform already, they just did it in very poor fashion... I'm looking at some very cool plays on our traditional colors, yeah, like those reebok ones we saw earlier in the year..those unis are not disrespectful to our traditional colors or unis..

No Dup, you don't have to stray from the traditional colors, but to modernize the look in a cool way is due imo...

My main concern is the stadium..something has to be done and fast..If you were to poll everyone in football where you would want to play their Super Bowl, I bet the majority would want Miami, it's a shame that we are not expediting the process.

    Here we go....

We need scary colors and a mascot that makes players knees quiver.
    That would change everything.

Change our mascot to a Shark with a nuclear warhead attatched to him along with Black and Silver colors and everything will be better.
We will then look scary and not "fruity" (P-L-E-A-S-E.... fruity?)
Same discussion all the time. YAWN.

As for the uni's.... the change I've been begging for is minor. Just the stripes on the pants and jersey, like what arizona, minnesota, atlanta have done, but to a lesser extent. Tired of the disco era stripes and bland jerseys. Two tone and solid stripes are simple ways to modernize the look without alienating the fan base. Throwback the logo.

As much as I respect and have learned from you, I don't understand your standpoint on Ireland. You said yourself he had a good draft. I just dont know where it comes from, and would prefer some, or any explanation on that matter. Besides, who is this better general manager of which you speak ? What are the the offseason moves you don't agree with, aside from Ocho, which you've made clear. Chad > Moye btw and your preference (plax) has lasted a lot more than just a few days on the open market. Obviously you know Ireland is as much Carl Peterson's boy as he was Parcell's, we're stuck with him!

As aqua said the no helmet looks too vacant. In my opinion if you stuck a football underneath the dolphin it would draw your attention away from the head. Personally i was scrolling down reading this thread and stopped between one of dj's and psg's post and wondered how it would look if you could take a football like the one in dj's sig and place it under the dolphin.

Just don't touch the logo or classic colors...but I hope they get rid of the navy and make them look more like the original jerseys, but with the logo above the stripes or something.

Logo is mostly fine. Don't want some complete overhaul of a generic "M" with a fin on it or something. (You know that's what would happen)

Basically the Miami Heat logo but with a Dolphin.
