Gregg Doyel could wither write about how the Heat are on the verge of winning the NBA title, perhaps take everything back he said about LBJ, you know be a man.
Or he can defend Westbrook and somehow look for a moral victory in an OKC loss.
Oh **** thats exactly what he did.

Do not expect the real haters to eat their words and offer any concessions. They will continue hating. Trust me.

Not only this, but it will never end. We'll see it flare back up when the Big 3 are retired and eligible for the HOF.

Nothing like this in the world of sports.

That said, there are some backing off. Barkley in particular has become better, while there are those like Simmons, Barry, Doyel, Engel, and Legler who are trying to build careers off it.

And for what it's worth, I still revel in this stuff. I posted Palpatine pictures the day of The Decision and I'm still laughing evilly.

BTW, when we are talking about the "haters", we are not talking about those loser fans in Chicago and Boston that are relentless.

It is this clique of sports writers and opinion makers that are just as relentless, but get their voices heard.

Perhaps the greatest example of the 'graduation' of this Miami Heat team....at least for me personally -- confidence as a fan.

    I wasn't panicked about being down 17.

And once the third quarter kicked off, I actually hoped the game would remain close rather than the Heat pulling away. Just felt like we were better there and we would have the answers. Every game this series, someone has stepped up. Last night, everyone was stepping up.

I guess that's what it feels like to root for the Steelers. The confidence that you can keep tough games close, and win them in the end.

I think the real difference in these close games is that our calling card is defense where their's is scoring. You feel a real sense of ease an control from the Heat coming down the stretch.

I will agree with Mainge though, let's finish this out at home!

Was it Bucher or Barry that said that Derick Rose has a higher Basketball IQ than Lebron? I know it was one of them.

In other words the complete opposite of the Miami Dolphins, hopefully things will start turning around with Philbin and T-Hill.

There's no doubt in my mind the Heat win the next game. They've worked out they can trap OKC on defense and get away with it because OKC is not a good passing team. While on offense the Heat are clicking. Game 4 showed us that the outside game from either Battier, Chalmers or Cole can work. It's going to be a great game tomorrow.

Bill Simmons seriously give Lebron his proper respect. http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/8077467/that-boy-competed

For three quarters, LeBron James played at the single highest level I have ever seen from him. (Yes, I went to Game 6 of last round's Boston series.) This was the greatest Bird impression ever attempted (and executed), something that could only be called "power point guard." He did whatever he wanted on the low post, crashed the boards, got his teammates involved, made the right play time and time again … it was like watching Bird 2.0, only if Bird was also one of the three best defenders in the league. To repeat: LeBron was playing like a rich man's version of the fifth-best basketball player of all time. I don't care how much you hated "The Decision" — if you can't appreciate what LeBron James is doing right now, you need to start following another sport. It's one of the greatest night-to-night athletic feats we have ever witnessed.

Yeah, Simmons hasn't been so bad, although he still threw in a "why do all the 50/50 calls go against OKC?"

But considering his past, his criticism was very mild. And he had nothing but positive things to say about LBJ

I haven't seen any stats or anything but how is LeBrons postseason ranking all-time? Or even just the finals? I'm watching with Heat colored glasses so I'm just curious how good it is.

It depends on your metric. As far as filling up the stat line it has to be up there with the best ever.

What I love is that offensively he has transcended the double team. Boston didn't even try it on him, they did it to Wade instead. The Thunder decided to break it out last night and he just dealt out assists like they were candy.
