I get where you're coming from, but I honestly don't think it has anything to do with his teammates or the fans. He's the one paying the fines. It will have no impact on anyone else. Except maybe entertainment value.
Being cocky and brash probably has a lot to do with how well he does. You may not work that way, but others do.
Sure. But I'm not sure how being cocky and brash will warrant being a problem for the league offices.
See, to me (with all due respect) you're being arrogant. There have been no complaints about him from his teammates or coaches. But you say he's doing it wrong. He has been to many pro bowls. But you say he's doing it wrong. He played last year the way you prefer. But he sucked. To continue to insist he conform to your ideals means you think you know better than he does about being a successful WR in the NFL. In all seriousness, how does that not come across as you being as bit arrogant (again with all due respect)?
Maybe I'm over analyzing this, but when you say to your new team, your gonna cover my ***, so I can do what I want, before you did anything for my team, It rubs me the wrong way, and I don't think your game the last few years has warranted that type of approach..I think a man who is conscious of himself, and has some life wisdom, and humility, would find a different approach to reach his highest level.
No. You aren't talking about a man, you are talking about a specific man. Again, you're trying to say your sensibilities SHOULD apply to someone else. No one on the Dolphins is complaining about him.
Am I??, wow, I don't feel that Fin, I just don't like the talk before you take the field for your new team, that's all man.
I'd agree with you if you were a rookie or an otherwise unproven player. If you're Ochocinco, and have a long history of being silly and playing at a high level, then no. Basically, Ocho is being Ocho and most players, coaches and fans are actually ok with that.
I dunno...probably not. The "factuality" of his boast isn't the point though. The point is he's saying in his own silly way he's gonna return his pro bowl form. Seriously, have you ever talked smack before?
Sure, I've talked smack. I've never before hand said I plan on breaking the rules to the point that I get in trouble with the league office or some type of higher authority.
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...brations-of-2011-that-didnt-draw-flags/page/7 this didn't get a penalty. http://www.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/22475988/26031390 that didn't get a penalty either. Plus a lot of players are fined for uniform violations without penalties.
Like I said you're taking what he said waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to literally. Basically if he said he will break the TD record and you can take that to the bank, you would actually try to deposit that?
Sure. I'm fine with him getting uniform violations. Most of the celebration stuff is an obvious penalty though.
The problem is that he didn't address me. He addressed the league's highest authority. You don't think officials will be quicker to penalize him now than someone else that didn't advertise it?
True, however if there isn't a penalty on the field there still could be a fine. It will probably be a penalty next time.
No. I think they'll chuckle at it like most people do. Again he doesn't have the reputation as a troublemaker, he has the reputation of a lovable clown.
Yeah but I highly doubt this tweet itself will put him at any higher level of flag likelihood than he was already at with NFL referees. Its not like he's been a letter of the law guy all along who now called out the officials
There is nothing lovable about getting penalties for your team. I certainly won't be chuckling about a 15 yd penalty if he gets one as a Dolphin.
I'm not sure how he would be getting fined unless he is doing something that risks drawing a penalty.
Problem, as in getting into trouble by celebrating when he scores a TD. You're making this WAY more than it has to be.
Like I said you're trying to hold his smack talk to be actual factual information. It isn't. Its just smack talk for fun. He's just being him. You are being overly serious, like that guy people try to tell a joke to and you interrupt with, "But why would a priest or a rabbi even go to a bar?"
lol..Thats not what were doing..lol..thats funny though..I surely don't want to come across as arrogant, but are you sure that he is not just thinking of himself here, over whats best for the team, and don't you think whats best for the team would be keeping distractions and jokes to a minimum for your new head coach before you have proved anything?. I guess I'm old fashioned, last I checked, once you get punked, you dont get up talking sh&6..Thats what smack talk to me is all about...This kinda talk rings hollow, especially considering how the last few season have trasnspired.
Here's to hoping he scores a ton of TDs and hes plenty of opportunities to draw fines and excessive celebration penalties.
Except for the fact that he does have a history of getting his team penalties. I could really care less if he wants to joke around. Getting penalties is where the problem arises.
Which one...yours or his? No I really don't. I think there are smack talkers and non smack talkers. I think the definition of arrogance is thinking and acting like you're an all world player and then blame your teammates and coaches when you only score 6 TDs knowing full well you dropped at least 5. As far as I know, Chad has never really had huge problems with his teammates and coaches.
Hes a lighthearted individual. Why cant people understand that? It's all in good fun. I talk smack on the BB court all night just to have fun, and make people laugh. It's fun. That's all this is. Its fun!!!!!!
Lets be honest... if he roasts cromartie and puts us up on the Jests 31-10 and takes a 15 yarder... nobody will give a ****. In fact, some of us will have the celebration .GIF in our sigs before the game ends. Close game, different story.
It's not upto any of us what he does. He gets fined...not your problem. I love the Chad of old and I better sure as hell see some TD celebrations that will make me laugh.
