Bye Bye Stan Van Gundy. Good riddance, Otis!!! http://www.nba.com/magic/news/magic_part_ways_with_van_gundy_smith_052112.html
Probably won't happen. Since everyone knows Dwight is unhappy, the Magic will have to accept a 30 cents on the dollar type of trade for him. Anyway, Otis getting the can proves that Larry David's theory about blacks guys wearing glasses is wrong.
The Magic can leverage teams by using free agency against them, playing up the risk of Howard signing somewhere else and competing against them. "Oh, okay, you want to lowball us. That's fine, two other teams are calling. And by the way, you can't afford him in free agency." NBA GMs are mostly idiots. This can and will work. Yes. He was extremely butthurt because the Big 3 placed a glass ceiling on what was then perceived to be a team that could make the Finals with one or two more injections of talent.
"The Orlando Magic have hired Rob Hennigan to be the team's new general manager. Hennigan spent the past four seasons with Oklahoma City, including the past two seasons as the Thunder's assistant general manager/player personnel. Prior to joining the Thunder, Hennigan spent four seasons with the San Antonio Spurs." Looking forward to seein what he can do in Orlando after what's he done in for the OKC Thunder the past few years. http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/8078875/orlando-magic-hire-rob-hennigan-new-general-manager
We got forward Andrew Nicholson from St. Bonaventure as our 1st round pick. I don't know much about that school, but they did really good this year for such a small college.
OKC and San Antonio before that. That's a great track record. I never heard of the kid we drafted. Anyone know anything about him? EDIT: Did some homework....found this. Link: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1213656-andrew-nicholson-to-magic-scouting-report-video-highlights-and-analysis
Our new head coach is Jacque Vaughn. "Vaughn played the final three seasons of his 12-year career with the Spurs. He was point guard Tony Parker's backup when San Antonio won the NBA title in 2007. Vaughn becomes the 10th coach in Orlando Magic team history. While with the Spurs he worked alongside new Orlando GM Hennigan, who was working then in the team's basketball operations department." http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/8...p-ex-spurs-assistant-jacque-vaughn-head-coach
Yeah man, I don't know what to think, he has almost no coaching experience. With the new GM who's also from the Spurs bringing him in, it sounds like when Parcells brought his Dallas people to Miami.
Well here we go with another season of Orlando Magic basketball starting tonight against the Denver Nuggets @ home. New coach and Dwight's gone, so no more drama, thankfully. Curious to see how rookie Andrew Nicholson from St. Bonaventure works out. Another rebuilding year begins.......
Haha the thread went an entire season without one post. But Vic ORLANDipo did shine in the summer league debut today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
