Or if he hadn't gone to Duke and hit a single shot at the end of a game vs UNC?

I love how Stern was trolling the crowd last night. He doesn't give a ****.

I have no problem with LeBron, and actually like him. :confused2:

    You're a rare exception, though.

And I think the whole "Cleveland hates LeBron" stuff is getting old. I guess the national mainstream is now tolerant or even accepting of LeBron now, so they're getting in some delayed Cleveland jokes, but it's silly now.

Lebron was the one they made jokes about before, but now Lebron haters are the butt of the jokes. The hate was always so irrational that it was probably inevitable.

I see the reformed group primarily as the media. The sports talk radio guys, the late night TV guys are the ones I've heard/seen bashing the haters the most. They helped feed the irrational hate for two years and now they're laughing at how irrational the haters are.

Yep, it's all down the memory hole now. They weren't part of it, nope, no sir.

The media has been reformed to a moderate extent. Many haven't changed their opinions, they've simply been forced to shut up due to LeBron's play and the Heat winning the title. You can read pieces by the likes of Jen Engel to see that the hate is alive and well, though in her specific case she's trying to springboard her career.

You're always going to have the contrarians who are looking to shock, but IMO the majority of the media has turned. As a result most people will follow that lead. (Mobs are sheep). If the Heat can repeat, then the tide will turn even more. You'll just have a few haters saying, "wake me when he passes Jordan" or words to that effect. The funny thing is that if the Heat continued to win (three or more) then the media tide will start to turn against them a bit. More people will turn back to hating the Heat b/c of their success. At that point it will probably more of a 50/50 split (front-runners vs. those who want a new team, any new team to win). That obviously excludes the Heat fans who will be thrilled and the core haters who will be miserable regardless. I'm talking about the middle group who's opinions swing based on the storyline of the moment.

I hope Lebron builds a dynasty here. The kind that in 20 years you look back much like we do the Lakers/Celtics. Then everyone can just stfu.

Dare I say, I hope the Cavs go after Beasley (not breaking the bank or anything) since Minny chose not to use a qualifying offer on him.

6'4" is not very undersized. He still may grow another inch or two and he can add weight to his frame. Ray Allen is 6'5". You mean to tell me 1 inch makes a player undersized? Thats just silly.
I would be. He was a highly recruited HS player who played well in a system that didnt really fit or maximize his skillset. The problem with Rivers is people expected him to be like his dad and his game is very different. He is a score first player but he has a lot of skills. I actually see a lot of similarities in his game and that of Kobe Bryant and Carmelo Anthony at the same age. I dont know if he will be quite that good but i think he can be a 20PPG player who helps a team more then hurts it. Hes got to be more consistent with his jumper and his 3's but hes going to be a very good player imo.

My top 5 was different then most. My 5 best players werent really the best college players just players whose games translate best to the pro's....in order
    Davis
    Harrison Barnes
    MKG
    Austin Rivers
    Jeremy Lamb

Im sure others will feel differently but imo those will be the 5 best pro's from this draft.

Fellow Heat fans, check out this quote from Riley. It comes from this ESPN interview:

    http://espn.go.com/nba/truehoop/miamiheat/story/_/id/8113373/nba-pat-riley-interview-part-i

Is this something we need to worry about? Can they convince the big three to take even less? Yeesh...of course, this could really hurt other teams too.

As a Providence College nut, obiovusly I watch a lot of the Big East and I can say very positively that you are going to like Jae Crowder......

Waiters goes without saying, but I gotta say surprised at Boeheim here, he is usually more smart than this comment....

TWO teams offered the max for Hibbert? I'm guessing the unnamed team is in the EC and has playoff aspirations.

The Max for a RFA is 4/58M. 14.5M per. Thats not unreasonable for a high end C. More then I would have paid for Hibbert but definitely not awful.

    Wolves offering Batum 4/50M supposedly.

Suns willing to do S&T with NYK according to Woj if landry Fields is part of the deal. Where do I sign?

    Suns going hard after Beasley.

    Thabeet meeting with Mavs.

    NYK meeting with Ray Felton.

Calderon may not amnesty Calderon after all as they finally realized he could be dealt as an expiring to a team that losses out on Nash and Deron
