it works both ways hombres.........It's well documented that our players prefer the suspenseful atmospheres at other teams stadiums. There's a reason our team hasn't had much of a home field advantage, and has been more consistent on the road.

I agree: Winning games will def improve the fans experience, energy, etc.

I agree: Being closer to the field, making more noise improves the fans experience, energy etc.

But if your standpoint is that improving the intensity of the crowd, fan experience, won't have a positive affect on the team and in turn help to win home games ???
Can't agree there. That's where I think it works both ways. Mutual gain.

    Mutual gain?

Yeah.... that's why home team offenses go out of their way to quite their crowd when they have the ball.
A stadium that is loud enough disrupts offenses and can in fact cause mistakes.
No doubt a great stadium and crowd can cause and advantage for the home team.

And a very good team can create that in any stadium.

mutual gain means the everyone benefits from improving the stadium, not just the fans.

Yes the fans can surprisingly make some noise, but it will never get to the point where it frustrates the opposing offenses IMO. Nothing like the orange bowl. The TV announcers will never have to raise there voices. Canephins had a great example, i remember watching that denver game, the joint was rockin ! ( by our standards ) Still doesn't compare to most other places. I've been to quite a few stadiums and none feel more like a baseball game than Joe Robbie. We could be undefeated and you wouldn't know it by listening to the crowd.

Winning will have the greatest impact on the franchise. I just think putting the fans closer to the field, instead of having an outfield between them, can help the cause.

Love ya Ozz... but can't agree.
Been to many a game in both venues and when Joe Robbie has been packed and "rockin" it hasn't been close to the noise levels at the OB.
There were games at the OB where key mistakes were forced by the crowd in that closed endzone.... many.

Never seen even one instance of that at Joe Robbie.

Sounded to me like you were stating that a loud home crowd will benefit the visiting team just as much as the home team.
That I don't agree with at all.

Being that I was at every game until 1988, and then from 1992 until two seasons ago, I can absolutely say It gets plenty loud at JRS. You cannot compare it to the Orange bowl. But the endzones at JRS have caused plenty of teams to call timeouts and hike the ball early.

I'm not even a fan of the stadium. Never was but when Marino was playing, that place rocked on many a night/day

I've seen it so many times at JRS. Watched Brady so frustrated he called a timeout in the east endzone. Manning called it one of the loudest places he's been to after he lost a playoff game and so many people forget that the Dolphins once had a potent offense for most of the time that Marino was here. The defenses were nothing special and that's when crowds feed but the place gets loud in the endzones.

Have to take the Orange Bowl out of the picture because no stadium was ever that loud.

Nahhh..... by mutual gain i meant the fans and the (home) team.

I guess the underlying theme here is that regardless of what they do to the stadium... we the fans have a responsibility to bring the noise !
The stadium may have its faults, but its all we have, and atleast the marlins are gone.

I assume this is a joke because the Ralph is terrible. What makes it good is the alchy Buffalonians tailgating who then stumble into the stadium. Dolphins stadium is just as bad, difference is fans aren't as passionate in Florida. In fact Florida sports fans are pretty bad.

Dolphins do need another stadium but it wont happen til they realize they aren't getting another Super Bowl until they do. NFL has already said Miami is out until they do...so they better get one.

The Dolphins brass want Dade, Broward counties to fund it and after the Marlins screw up there won't be a new stadium for any pro sports team that is funded by the people or cities.

That's right and that's why I keep harping that a good team is what is needed more than anything else. When the Dolphins were contending for a division title and possible SB fans filled the place and it was plenty loud enough. Again! Nothing like the Orange Bowl but what stadium is?
