I'm not cherry picking, problem is you haven't read through my posts. You noticed a Chalmers criticism and went off even if criticism is just. I pointed out the struggles were 2nd half and most of playoffs multiple times now. I never said he never showed up. I'm saying you can't be trash for half a season plus almost all of playoffs and say the guy is good because he had a few good games. That's not acceptable and Chalmers acknowledges this.

He shot under 40% from the field. 27% from 3. Can't finish at the rim. 7.99 PER (average NBA player is 15), He plays pretty good D and has some exceptional physical tools, but he's just not there yet.

Well basketball guys are saying Wallace and Howard can be on the team if they sign them in the right order. And it proves this by the fact that Wallace is not in the Howard trade indicating they can have both. I find it hard to believe as well but they're saying hey can.

Chalmers struggled the whole 2nd half. He had a few good games and that's it. At the least he struggled march and April. In the playoffs he had 2.5 good games. Sorry he just isn't that good. He is a below average player in a very fortunate situation. Neither cole nor Chalmers are good points, but in stretches both do have some poitive qualities....they just aren't consistent at all

Funny coming from you. You tried calling my skip Bayless even though skip agrees with you not me. Then you say I gave no facts even though you later back tracked and admitted he struggled, Mainge admits he struggled.....and best part is his teammates, coaches, and players have said he struggled. So you guys come full circle to agree with me and then say I'm trolling. Soooo priceless guys

You're original argument was not that Rio struggled it was, "Rio is garbage." that was the statement I did and do dispute. Him struggling does not make him garbage. I disagree with the statement vehemently and still do. And with that I have nothing else to say to you as Mainge nailed it. You sir are a troll.

He's not in the Howard trade because there isn't a trade. They can't have both.

Also, you say he struggled the whole playoffs. He shot 45% from the field including 36% from 3. Can't wait to see how good he'll be when playing well. I'll give you that he's an average PG playing in a great situation but his skillset is perfect for us. And with that, I'm done responding to you.

Using Efficiency ratings, and comparing them to the median rating, and the avg. rating of ALL-STAR PG'S we come up with this:

Heat played 23 playoff games. RIO played in them all.

Vs. New York (5 games) RIO played at an ALL-STAR LEVEL in 2 of the 5. Poorly in 1. Avg. in 2.

Vs. Indiana (6 games) RIO played at an ALL-STAR LEVEL in 3 of the 6. Poorly in 2. Below Avg. in 1.

Vs. Boston (7 games) RIO played at an ALL-STAR LEVEL in 1 of the 7. Poorly in 1. Avg. in 5.

vS. OKC (5 games) RIO played at an ALL-STAR LEVEL in 2 of the 5. Poorly in 2. Below Avg. 1.

So to recap: In 23 games, RIO played at an ALL-STAR level in 8 games. Played at an AVG./above AVG. Level in 7. Below Avg. in 2. Poorly in 6.

Conclusion: Every team in the NBA would want him, and about 20 of them would want him to start. Also, RIO haters have an agenda, are trolls, are just plain idiots.

Nah he was struggling even in most the playoffs. This isn't just my opinion. Since the homers wont accept it from me here it is from numerous news sources and the heat players themselves:

Even a Kansas website that loves the guy acknowledges his struggles:
The main thing is I can find dozens and dozens of more examples of people pointing out Chalmers struggles. But you'd have to be blind not to notice it if you watch the games. He is so inconsistent and his teamates always have to ride him because of it. It is well documented in games and by his coaches, himself, the media, and his teamates that his game slipped 2nd half and a lot of the playoffs. The guy is just fortunate to be in such a great situation. everyone loves him because he is a good guy so its hard to kill him, but the guy just isn't good as a starter on a championship team....doesnt mean he can't improve or that he doesnt have any value but man he does need to get more consistent.

As far as the cap, I never claim to be a cap expert. But if people that say they are cap experts say its possible how am I not going to believe them when its their job to know about the bogus NBA salary cap.

efficiency ratings? lol the guy sometimes struggles to get the ball across half court. If he does dribble up the court he just passes to lebron (mostly) or Wade and stands in the corner. Occasionally he will drive but he almost exclusively just hangs in a corner waiting for the pass as his defender dips off of him. Chalmers started so bad that in the finals the one guy the Thunder chose to put Durant on to avoid foul trouble was Chalmers. they even chose him over old man Battier. Ya chalmers is great lol.

Sorry I expect more out of a PG than to get torched on defense and hit an occasional wide open 3. Chalmers started the year hot and does bring some nice things on occasion but he is so inconsistent it maddening. He simply needs to bring it more frequently and everyone on his team including himself has mentioned that this year. It isn't one mans opinion and I wish the homers here would acknowledge their is credence to what the coaches, players, and chalmers have said about his play.

You exaggerated by saying he was garbage. You exaggerated by saying he sucked all season except for a couple of big shots in the playoffs. Then you pulled those huge exaggerations back a bit to he struggled for the second half of the season. In reality he struggled for about a month. Also despite his month long struggle, he was still second on the team in +/- behind only Lebron during the regular season. Then you also upped his couple of big shots to 2.5 games in the playoffs. That's still an exaggeration as he had big games in every round. And if somebody has the ability to see more than scoring, they would see that he was pretty good in most of the games. Coincidently, the top two player combination for any team was Lebron and Chalmers per NBA.com

    http://www.nba.com/statistics/plusminus/plusminus_sort.jsp?pcomb=2&season=22011&split=9&team=

What's funny is that all this was to argue that the Heat should start Coles, who really did struggle for most of the season and in the playoffs, but for a few big shots and who actually was a negative player overall for last season. As much as I like Coles' potential, he's a long way off. Basically, you were wrong in just about every statement and people busted you on it. Then are so delusional as to claim that when reasonable people state that Chalmers did struggle for about month that they are somehow agreeing with your exaggerated and ridiculous statements.

    Ok lets start...

    - Is the basis of your argument really a +/- for Chalmers? Chalmers is too far down the totem pole of importance to the team its just ridiculous for you to make that the basis of your argument. No concidence LeBron is the top 3 on that list though. His greatness clearly elevates everyone around him and the Heat have played well with guys going in and out of the lineup....the only constant is lebron.

    - I admitted I exaggerated Chalmers was garbage, but will say he often is just that. sure sometimes he steps up and its all people remember of the guy because clearly he is bad more often then good 2nd half of the year.

    - When did I say Cole should start? I said he brings some positive things to the team just as Chalmers did. Heck the biggest thing Cole did this year was play well in a few stretches of the finals which sparked Chalmers to pick his game up. Either way nowhere did I say Cole should start, in fact I think both are clearly subpar and inconsistent of a team trying to compete and win multiple championships in the next few years withe the way they are currently playing.

The team plays better when Chalmers plays. That is an undeniable fact so trading him would be silly. And while Lebron is obviously a great player and elevates the play of many around him, the team's best two player combination was Lebron and Chalmers. That doesn't mean that Chalmers is the second best player, but it does obviously mean that he's a good compliment and important piece. Your claim that he is garbage was an exaggeration, but so was basically every other statement you made. It's why so many posters are calling you a troll. Your whole argument is based on statements that Chalmers struggled. Everybody knows that he struggled at times with his shot this year, but overall he was still good and no worse than average far more often than not in his overall game. I recognize that many may not be able differentiate between just scoring and a complete basketball game, but any who can recognize that Chalmers was very important to this team.

BTW here's a hint: When so many are referring to you as a troll, it doesn't mean they agree with you or that they think you're making sense or reasonable points or arguments.

Lets start with the end of your post then move one from there...........they're calling me a troll because they dont know me, I dont post here often, they're homers, and they don't have a legitimate argument to mine. When the player in question himself agrees he has struggled and not played well and you disagree then you look dumb. BTW I don't mean "you" literally, I mean the people had to resort to calling me a troll even though they later changed their tune to agree with me. Yes the two who kept calling me a troll later changed their tune to agree he has struggled.....meaning I was correct.

As far Chalmers, yes he is important to the team, to a certain extent. The team is not deep and needs all their guys to contribute so in a sense all parts are important. They all have a role. As far as Chalmers, Battier, Mike Miller, and occasionally James Jones its to hit that wide open 3 when LEBron drives and kicks. Lets not exaggerate what they do for the most part. Notice I say most part because I know they sometimes do other things. I understand Chalmers will occasionally drive or that Miller will occasionally get an offensive rebound. We all understand their main role on offense is to hit wide open 3's because the offense is going through LeBron and sometimes Wade. So if they're hitting those shots yes its important to the team for points obviously, but also to create space int he defense so they dont just cram the paint or shift attention to lets say LeBron.

Back to Chalmers, the team does play chalmers, partially because he is their best guard, but partially because they have to. If Miller was healthy they would have Chalmers on the bench substantially more. And if they had a guard they trusted to handle the ball he'd be on the bench substantially more.

As far trading him, its not neccessarily silly. they can replace much of what he does as Chalmers is not a key piece nor is he a special player. He is certainly a good piece in stretches. Now I dont think trading him is an option largely because you wont get much for him, but also because you need a replacement plan and their isn't much out their anymore. Cole is not starter quality so he isn't an option to start although I dont think giving him 10-12 mins per game next year would be a bad idea...in fact a good idea if he learns to stop reaching in.

The Knicks are vowing to match the Lin offer sheet.

Which is 4 years for 30 million.

it leaves them with 64 million committed to 4 players in 2 years.

in 4 years, if they trade away Amare's cap space fr another player, they will have in excess of 100 million in salary. paying almost 60 million in Luxury Tax.
