FU :shifty:, and Andrew McCutchen asked his old HS coach to throw to him. All he wanted was to hit 4 HRs and have fun, and remember this moment for the rest of his life.

    Mission Accomplished...

    Here's the story:

PITTSBURGH -- When Andrew McCutchen was a maturing kid and athlete at Fort Meade High School in Florida, his baseball coach often shared a far-fetched fantasy.

"Hey," Jon Spradlin would say, "it'd be kind of cool if one day you were in the Home Run Derby and I threw to you."
Only the 4th Pittsburgh Pirate to ever participate in the Home Run Derby.

    Yeah, I'm proud.

    1st half MVP. Yeah...

Pirates represented. Cutch got what he wanted, is currently leading Fielder by 3 HRs in REAL LIFE, and Prince only got him by 1 to advance. It is a good time to be a Bucs fans these days! And me and my son are loving every moment! :D

Maybe not. But I still think he should of offered. Upton not getting an invite last year was a bigger travesty. I mean a down right travesty. But I can understand Butler not getting invited. Although I don't blame the fans.

Trumbo is a freaking monster, no brainer for the HRD. Only Butler should get in a HRD is if he is running around shagging balls with the 10 year olds in the outfield

Watched 6 pitches to Bautista then got bored and turned it off. I agree not having Stanton or even Harper in the HR Derby isn't enough to get me to watch it.

As far as KC having fans, they drew 40k to the Future's Game last night, most ever, so I'd say great job by them to show up for that one.

You know the Bucs are making the playoffs this year. This is one hell of a wonderful season for me and my Die-Hard 10 yr old son to witness first-hand almost every game. :)

Same thing for me. I watched a little longer but if Stanton were there I would have watched the entire thing.

It's just much too long and boring for me. None of the guys in it really drew my interest.

Exactly my thoughts, but was better than watching hells kitchen.

Fielder can really crank them though. Bautista was getting pissed at his pitcher.

I love my Pirates. I've waited 20 years to witness this. I get to see it all with my son. Yeah, I get excited a little and love the game. I know it may be a little off topic and I was drunk (never proven), taking my son to a Pirates game or a Van Halen or Chickenfoot concert at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach (best day of my life, ill tell you all about it later, when i don't get teary eyed thinking about it).

It seems like you have an agenda with me when I talk about the Pittsburgh Pirates, NL Central leaders, best pitching staff (including bench), soon to be MVP Andrew McCutchen, maybe the best 2Bman in all of the majors Neil Skywalker (my son named him that), James McDonald (JMac) and AJ Burnett getting snubbed in the All-Star Game (they both deserved it). "Hammer Time!" Joel Hanrahan. Alvarez, and on and on and on...

Yeah I get excited about the Bucs chances this year. Why not?
