If the time before the present was always so great, why'd everybody from that time progress to the next time?

it just seems to me, in the era your post refers to one of the favorite past times was imagining the future. From Popular Science to the World's Fair, it seems that whole generation was pre occupied with the future, which seems odd for a time that was supposed to be great.

Well, I didn't post this for something else to debate. I only shared it for all whether they like it ir not. But you'll understand this when you get older. Thirty years from now, you'll likely be reminiscing about John Cougar Mellencamp, the boss and such.

    Enjoyed that. Thanks!

And maybe people were fantasizing about the future because of the breakthroughs in technology? Just a guess, way before my time lol.

Because that was when it seemed like the future had endless possibility! Now we're stuck in the day to day grind with no real aspirations toward the future as a whole in society. Its become entirely about the individual.
