Well, just going by win-loss record, they're the best in the East, and… bwahahahahahaha! But yes, the Bulls with Rose are better than the Knicks. In fact, I think the 76ers could be better than the Knicks.
I have the Knicks behind Miami and a healthy Bulls team. They are not that far ahead of Indiana and Boston but imo they will be better. Boston lost a significant piece in Allen and even though Bradley is a decent young player and Bass is ok they didnt really get better. Indiana got worse imo trading Collison + for Mahinmi. The Knicks DID get better. Kidd is an upgrade over Baron Davis. Felton is an upgrade over Toney Douglas and possibly over Jeremy Lin. Camby is a significant upgrade over Jared Jeffries (actually his PER is about on par with Hibbert, Lopez, Mahinmi, Dalembert and Hawes who comparatively got paid much more). They can still retain Lin and they did retain Smith and Novak meaning they have a lot of contracts they can use as well to acquire players should the right situation arise (i.e. Love wanting out, or CP3 wanting out etc). They lost Fields who doesnt fit what they are doing now anyway and he shot only 25% from 3 last year which isnt what Id call good for a SG. Fields needs to be in an up tempo style so he will probably do OK in Toronto. They may lose Lin but that could be a good or a bad thing depending on how you feel about Lin.
The Knicks in 2010-2011 were 2-2 vs the Bulls and last year were 1-2. Thats off the top of my head. I know we lost 2 close ones last year where we were shorthanded and then we rallied down 10 with like 2 minutes to go against them in I believe late March. That was the game Melo scored like 15 points in the final 2 minutes and OT and finished with like 45 or something ridiculous. Rose was scoreless that whole first half if I remember correctly vs Shumpert. They had a lot of trouble down low with Amare in 10-11 when we used Amare as a C. They couldnt stop him and we drained 3's on them all game. The key is finding a way to make Amare + Tyson work. If we get that we can challenge Miami and a healthy bulls team. Otherwise Id say 48-34 or something along those lines.
If they handed out championships by fan evaluations in the preseason NY would win everything every year in every sport lol.
Blazers officially receive offer sheet from wolves on Batum. Suns amnesty Josh Childress Suns sign Luis Scola (actually won the winning bid) Dallas signed Elton Brand (won winning bid)
bulls play there stars to many mins in the regular season they wont be a playoff factor with that coach imo they had deng play absurd mins last year with a torn wrist. Also love the fact they have both boozer and noah ride the bench late in games they get payed way to much to ride the bench late in games. It's a team built for regular season basketball if you took lebron or wade off the heat last postseason we still would of clubbed the sixers.
True Story: If the Bulls played a game this week, and Coach Thibs turned to his bench to replace the starters, only Taj Gibson would be staring back at him. They have to rebuild their entire bench. So drop the Bulls in any preseason ranking. I have it at this as of now: 1. Heat 2. Celtics 3. Bulls 4. Hawks 5. Knicks 6. Indiana 7. Sixers 8. BK
BTW, you know what happens now right? Jeremy Lin will be a 10x All-Star and a HOFer while winning 2 championships in Houston. But don;t worry Knicks fans..you can hurt my feelings by stating the obvious.... The Dolphins are the Knicks of the NFL. (It is uncanny how similar their histories are)
Let's see if you can follow....The Hawks were already a 4 seed. They improved. So therefore...4th. Indiana is weaker. Everybody else improved. BK was a turd. they added Joe Johnson. Congrats on an 8 seed.
All I'll say is you'll see. I do find it funny that you think Atlanta improved while downplaying BK. Lopez comes back, Wallace, JJ, and motivated Deron....watch out. As far as Indiana, you're seriously underestimating them. They aren't going anywhere. But hey it will play out and we will see? For the record, ATL did not improve. aTL will be worse, plus teams around them like Boston, BK, NY should be better. ATL will not finish that high unless Knicks and Boston tank again and I dnt think Boston in particular can tank hard enough in the reg. season to let ATL seed higher
Wait a second, who here is making a big deal about it? If anything were having fun with it. I Was actually happy he got a dwi this time instead of beating up his wife. Seriously though, who drives in NYC anyways? How you get a dwi in a city where nobody drives? Lol Let me make note, Kidd was literally carried out of the club he was so drunk. this wasn't a little buzz driving, this was black out drunk driving.
team usa looking weak right now. But good for kobe in sparking something along with bron bron. Harden coming in, let's hope he doesn't go all statue of liberty and get disappeared again.
So signing Tyson Chandler wasnt a good move? Cause last I checked the Knicks dropped their PPGA by 11 from 10-11 (D'antoni/No Chandler) to 11-12 (Under Woodson they were #1 in the league in PPGA). Believe it or not, the Knicks are actually a good defensive team statistically speaking even if individually there are some holes (Amare mostly...) Oh and get ready for this...when the Knicks need a stop defensively down the stretch... PG: Felton SG: Shumpert SF: Melo PF: Camby C: Tyson Thats a defense oriented lineup...
remind me to never hire you as a basketball coach. A lineup with Camby and Tyson on it would get scorched by a ton of teams. That lineup only matches up with the Lakers. and Felton...Melo...in a defensive minded lineup?
Knicks best defensive lineup: PG: Kidd SG: JR Smith SF: Shump PF: Melo C: Tyson Knicks need to sign Ronnie Brewer to sit Kidd in that lineup, and play Shump on the ball.
