What the hell is wrong with people? This is horrible. People go out to see an enjoyable movie and 14 of them dont even get to tell their families and friends about it cause some dunce opens up and kills them? Its a sad commentary on the direction of society and humanity and the devaluation of human life and just a few miles from Columbine no less: http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/wo...iere-in-colorado/story-fnd134gw-1226431167005 Condolences to the families and people affected...I know we have a few members of this board from Colorado, hopefully no one we know was affected.
Just awful awful news. I will never understand why these psychos feel the need to take other people's lives just because they aren't happy with their own. Thoughts and prayers go out to everyone.
The way he busted into the theater and everything at the beginning of an action scene is like he was 'living' in the movie or something. Such a tragedy.
Truly sad indeed. Tragic. Here in Toronto we had a shooting at a large downtown mall, the Eaton Center a while back. One girl who died in the CO shooting witnessed and survived the Eaton Centre shooting as well. A sports caster who moved to CO. Very sad for her, all the other victims, and their families.
This world is a terrible, terrible place. And filled with a lot of terrible people. It's just depressing as hell.
Also 50 some people injured. I believe 9 of which are critical. A 6 year old dead. A 3 month old taken to the hospital (for chemical exposure not shot). With that many people involved you pretty much will know somebody that knows someone. Just an awful day.
Why was there a 3 month old at the theater anyway? Can't that volume level damage an infants ears? Either way this is just tragic
Ridiculous. Some events now cancelled, innocent lives taken from another fked up kid with head issues.
So sad. I'm wondering how he got in? He obviously didn't buy a ticket and walk in through the front door carrying 4 guns and a helmet and gas mask. Sounds like people said he went in through an emergency exit? Aren't those only able to be opened from the inside? I guess and assume he could have shot it open, those are powerful guns he had. Hopefully there were cameras, just to make sure he wasn't let in.
I just listened to a radio interview with a guy who was within 5 feet of the shooter when it happened. He was sitting about 3 rows up and about 4 seats away from the aisle. While the previews were running he noticed a guy come in and sit in the very first row and in the very first seat, next to the aisle. He then noticed the guy answer a phone call. He stood up, walked over to the emergency exit and propped it open to take the call outside. The witness said that he could see through the propped door that it seemed like the guy was motioning to someone else. Now I'm not sure if that guy came back inside or not, I couldnt really tell from his story. But he said about 15 minutes into the film a guy walked through that propped emergency exit door wearing all black, a gas mask threw something behind him and into the audience. The witness dropped to the floor immediately and began hearing shots ring out. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Have heard different accounts on how he accessed the theater. One account said he bought a ticket, went inside, as the movie started he went out the emergency exit, propped the door open, went to retrieve his weapons and then came back in. Another account said he kicked the emergency door in and started shooting. If the police say there was only one shooter, I'd tend to believe them. Crazy stuff. Too bad he didn't kill himself.
I'm glad he didn't. That way we can at least ask him "why?". Now if he answers that question or not I guess we'll have to wait and see. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
And they said this idiot also boobytrapped his home with some kind of bomb. Wow. I'm really surprised nobody else got hurt with that.
I say they forget the trial and just take the Catwoman knife-heel and slice his little d**k off. But that's just me.
I'd rather not monetarily contribute to the rest of his life. We can sometimes find out the motive thru other clues that the suspect has left.
I may be stupid, but I don't understand how no one though it was an issue that an emergency exit door was propped open for that long. Not saying I would have expected what happened, but I have never seen anyone exit an emergency exit (I always thought an alarm sounded personally) much less prop the door open... You think someone would have gotten the management or something. Also, I haven't read up about the story or watched the news so forgive me for asking but how did they stop/capture this guy? I only ask because you think Police would have shot him dead in the act once they arrived. Or did he run out of bullets and just sit there? It doesn't make much sense to me.
Honestly, I hope this doesn't spark other people going out and doing crazy **** like this. Personally, I am going to wait a while to see this movie now.
Why? The movie had nothing to do with this. This was an act of an extremely sick person. If he went into a grocery store and shot and killed 12 people would you not shop for food for awhile? Don't live your life like that, this has nothing to do with the movie, this has to do with a psycho who should have blown his brains long ago instead.
He stopped and went out to his car and waited for police to arrive. I don't know if he ran out of bullets or what. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I was bringing up a point. Save the high and mighty drama queen response. Obviously people lives mean more, I was just making a statement.
You are missing the point. I am not living in fear, I am going to see the movie. I just think that sometimes seeing something else can set off other crazy people. Some other psycho sitting at home could have watched the news and in their ****ed up mind want to do something similar. Why do you think they cancelled the premier in Paris? It's a preventative measure.
That seems really odd to me. I mean clearly he was not a logical person, but he had armor and stuff which makes me think that he was planning on fighting to the end. I may be thinking too deep into this, but I don't get how he does what he did and then just goes to the car to wait for police. I wonder if he did that to preserve his life, to deliver some message to the public while he is on trial... something of that sort. I don't know if the picture they put online is his mugshot, but he is smirking... as if he has no remorse or no feelings. He has to be a psychopath. I read up more about the shooting and found out he was a medical student that was in the process of withdrawing. You have to wonder what got to him (most likely he was a psychopath and felt his life spiraling out of control). He probably was facing a huge amount of debt considering he most likely took out lots of student loans and since he dropped out and wasn't going to become a doctor would have a hell of a time paying them back.
I vote for slowly ripping his skin piece by piece with either a knife or a potato peeler whichever would be more painful. Chop off 1 limb per hour starting with fingers and toes. Give it enough time to stop the bleeding a little then chop off the next limb or finger. Then stab him right in the **** with the sharpest blade we can find. This would be my vote. Anything less would be too good for this douche.

Have him watch Batman & Robin on a loop for 12 years straight....too soon? Too heartless? Over the line?
I say publicly execute him by tossing him into a Batman sized pit of honeybadgers and let him try to climb out.
He thinks he's the Joker. Which is also strange because if that were the case he'd have other people with him as his thugs and would never allow himself to be caught.
You don't have a party for something the day after a mass killing is attached to it. It's not a preventative measure, it's showing some respect.
So your telling me there is no preventative measure at all?!? I know it has to do with respect, but there is also a preventative measure too. The guy that did this was obviously crazy, but there are other people out there just as crazy. They could have watched the news and thought to themselves that that want to do something similar... It's kind of like some serial murders, they like the press as it makes them feel powerful and relevant. Someone else could try the steal his thunder if you will. Is it likely? No, but I also think its not as unlikely as people think.
Great another crazy mofo we have to pay taxes to keep in prison. My heart goes out to the family of the victims. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
