So August 10th will be the first time I go to Miami to see the Phins play. I'm going to be sitting in section 442, I've heard a lot of people say how far the seats are from the field so how bad are the seats going to be? Also, is there much to do around the stadium that's worth doing or is the stadium pretty much it? Thanks so much for the help guys!!

I for one, love the stadium. 442 is on the home team side and yeah, the distance from the sidelines to the first row of lower seats is pretty far due to the former baseball setup, just the same, its a nice place. Is it Jerry World in Dallas ? No but there is lots to do/eat/see right outside of the stadium. As far as the area around the stadium, no, not much to do. Surrounded by Housing and to the East a major roadway.

Like I said though, the parking lot is fun, there is a lot to at the stadium itself and plenty of decent food inside. Have fun, I do. May I suggest you bring a ziplock baggie for your wallet because if it starts pouring it will be protected. Have a great time.

Sect 442 is fine for watching the game, a bit farther away than other stadiums, but not excessivly so. I had season tickets in 443 and 444 and really like the view, only moved when I could get into the lower bowl. Lot to do in the stadium, there are pre-game events like Nat Moore's BBQ, cheerleaders and alumni meet and greets, etc inside, plus usually a radio station or two having something in the parking lot. The tailgating is a blast, more so than I've seen at other stadiums I've visited (which isn't many, Jax and old Foxboro) but I hear from many visitors it's better thasn average. Also in the stadium there are lounges and bars, some under a/c, for watching if you're not in your seat, plus the fantasy lounge, which is aimed at fantasy football fanatics who have to check up on their players. Haven't been in there but I hear it's nice. I'd rather with the Dolphins live myself though. Food and drink are overpriced, but no more so than you'd expect - $8 beers, $8 to $12 or so for a plate of food. They did expand the variety so there are more choices than just dogs and chicken. If you go on the Doplhins website there is a calendar of events for game day specific stuff. I'm looking for the link now, but at work their site gives me fits.

definitely bring a ziplock for your valuables just in case and a poncho... you can make a gametime decision on whether to bring it in or not but in august you never know when it will rain. i used to have season tickets and there is stuff to do at the stadium pregame but in terms of attractions in the area around the stadium there are none, unless you want to gamble at calder race track.

Sun screen. In those seats you are literally 10 feet from the August FL sun with no shade. If the sun is out you will burn. Sun screen. Don't worry about a tan. Sun screen. Stay hydrated too, make every other beer a water. Sun screen.

I assume you're driving. If you are then you can find things to do. Around the stadium as people have said is nothing in terms of entertainment. But you can drive 20mins east and by on the beach of Ft. Lauderdale. Yes I said Ft. Lauderdale because thats where the stadium is, not Miami. Its cool though, Ft. Lauderdale is a cool city...I actually often prefer it to Miami.

If you can go to Ft. Lauderdale or Hollywood you can find tons to do.

Thanks so much guys. I'm absolutely going to bring sunscreen. So there isn't much to do around the stadium? We were going to get there a few hours early.

Yes that's good. I'm sure we'll be able to find things to do around there. I saw it was Miami Gardens and wasn't sure exactly where that was. I moved to the Tampa area in November so still getting acclimated to everything.

As someone that used to have front row corner endzone tickets (and have sat many places throughout the stadium), I recommend Club level if price isn't an issue.

The best bang for the buck easily is the upper bowl, between the 40's, and as low as possible. If I could choose from the front row corner endzone tickets or tickets in the upper bowl, between the 40's, and in rows 1-5 I would easily choose the latter. Idk where 442 is exactly, but you are in for a good time regardless. Definitely tailgate prior to the game and if you get there super, super early you can usually catch the players driving into the stadium which is pretty cool to see

Those seats are fine, and you are gonna watch the game fine as well.

I don't know why people are telling you to wear sun screen when the game is at night though.

Around the stadium there is nothing, except for a Walmart, Calder Race Track and a Gas Station.

Head on toward Hollywood to the Hard Rock, it;s a fun place.

Miami Gardens is on the Dade/Broward line. Don't be fooled though, Fort Lauderdale is not so close. If you get to the stadium early, all you can really do is sit in the parking lot and tailgate.

Finyank is allowed to cross state lines? Isn't that against the Geneva Convention or a violation of a court order or something?

Yes, bring several, and as has been recommended, put talcum powder in them as I hear it helps keep your hands and bottom of your feet dry from sweat, etc......certainly offer them up during tailgating to fellow fans as a sign of good faith (fine, if you want you can take a couple bucks during the exchange, ya know, to cover your costs)....enjoy.

Yeah I enjoy sitting in the upper deck as well. In my opinion it can sometimes be better than the lower because you can see so much

more, like the plays developing and holes opening up, etc. You can see what's going to happen before it does opposed to the lower level

where your starring at the jumbo tron half the time. Have fun, just remember to MAKE SOME NOISE !!!!!!!!!!

If you can and don't mind then definitely drive. A rental car will be far less than a taxi. that is a hike in a taxi.

My suggestion is grab a beer after the game, wait out a few mins of traffic, and drive home. To get out of the stadium is a mess. It is right off a major and normally smooth highway but they block off the easiest way and force everyone to exit through residential areas way out of your way to get on the thruway.

    NYfinfan...

Section is correct, the Pre-Season games start at around 7:30-8:00 PM, so the Hot sun won't be a problem, since it will be dusk time...

Enjoy the tailgate and the enviroment.... One thing for sure, it will not be to crowed, since Pre-Season games are not a huge crwod gatherer...

I will be there in Section 402 Row 21

I've been to a ton of games there, and personally have never had a bad seat. I have sat all over that stadium from pre season games to playoff games. The one thing that bothers me, the concessions are in a messed up place. Getting a beer and a dog cost me and my dad a whole quarter one time. At the time it was just acceptable but now I have been to a ton of newer stadiums and most have the concessions on the inside so you can almost just turn around in line and watch the game. At miami they have TVs there so you don't miss it but its not the same.

Now that I aid that, I haven't been there since the last stadium upgrade.

  30. phineas64

    phineas64 Season Ticket Holder

The upgrade fixed that issue, mostly. More concessions, plus wider concourse so more space for them. Much shorter lines and walks to them then before.
