Make that 3 left, as PFT is reporting Dontari Poe just signed. His contract is one of the few that includes offset language. He blinked before the Chiefs.

Matt Kalil on the other hand got a contract with no offset language. The Vikings caved.

 

So that makes literally 1--1st rounder WITH offset language correct?

 

And I was apparently mistaken about Stephon Gilmore's contract. His contract includes offset language. To my knowledge, he and Dontari Poe are the only ones. I've heard reference to Whitney Mercilus having offset language but I'm not sure that makes sense because he was picked so low, the players around him aren't generally getting guaranteed fourth year salaries anyway, which kind of makes the offset language issue a moot point.

 

yup just saw that...so there is it guys, this T-Hill thing isnt getting resolved anytime soon IMO....I thought originally there wasnt any contracts with it...but some do exist.....

Besides, the amount of money was never in question. The problem from the start has been the "wording".

 

Personally I don't see why it should get protracted out. Picks 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7 and 9 all got contracts with no offset language. Picks 10, 11 and 12 have offset language. I can't find anything on Pick 13 but I know that Pick 14 has no offset language.

Right I can see that, me being greedy of course I was hoping for nobody to have offset in the 1st round and it would have really forced the teams hand....they could at this point rest on that there is a guy in the Top 10 (albeit number 10) who does have it....

It gives the team a little more to stand on IMO...

 

Then why have any guaranteed money in the contract at all? If the player sucks enough to get cut, why should he collect money? Why not have all contracts be year by year salaries with no guarantees?

 

If your not confident in your ability but you can bendem over a barrel before you have to prove it.

I hope that never happens but there's a reason.
