So I didn't see a thread for the Olympics this year... here's to hoping the USA dominated the competition this year. I believe China will challenge the US in terms of medal count this year.
LOL. Blame it on the keyboard... putting the "D" next to the "S" is just begging for typos. I could be from the future for all you know... But let's try to keep it in the theme of this year anyways haha. The US Womens soccer team looked very, very good this year against Colombia. This result has led many to believe that they will win the gold again this year (no spoilers, please). Federer also barely escaped his opening match this year in what was an excellent match. Look for a potential Djokovic and Federal final later this year.
NBC has an Olympics app for the iPhone and iPad. You can watch live by signing in with the same username/password as your TV provider.
I think Chna will have the most gold medals, but US will have the most overall medals. Russia will be #3 in both IMO.
Why can't NBC play this game instead of ****ing cycling...It's like they're keeping this stuff a asecret.
They have the Olympics on 3 different NBC channels. I was watching the game and flicking back and forth between that and the cycling.
Not as much as Phelps. If you're looking for basketball or soccer games, most providers have special channels setup only for these two events. DirecTV has channel 751 and 752 setup for soccer and basketball. I'm typically setting my DVR to record most everything that I'm interested in. Of course the prime time NBC program is still the same as it ever was. The events aren't live. You can't catch swimming live unless you are hooked up to the Olympics.com stream. I was trying to watch the finish to cycling on the stream (there was no audio). The first Phelps/Lochtie race I tried to watch live but the stream was jumping around and cutting out (and I have a pretty fast connection). So it was basically unwatchable. Thats why I've gone back to just recording the prime time show and forwarding thru all the commercials / uninteresting story lines. The stream can be decent though if you want to go back and watch something you've missed. It's not just a "live" stream. They archive apparently every event. Which is nice... Did anyone else catch the Spain v Honduras soccer match. I thought Spain was going to lynch the referee..
Bela Karoyli should do commentary for every Olympic event. His interviews are gold. Abby Wambach got decked in the face Saturday. The Colombians must think Boxing & Soccer are a combined sport this year. (The player was just suspended for two games. It was behind the refs back during the game, which is why no red card.)
Seriously- I'm trying to wrap my mind around how a Chinese woman, 16 years old, posted a time as fast as Ryan Lochte. I can't see that being possible. God knows what they do to their athletes in that country.
Mens gymnastics.. yeah I know... anyway, the US absolutely choked. You could tell Orozco was going to mess up before he even started. Guy looks so depressed. And then there was Great Britain pulling out the bronze! And almost getting the silver. Crazy, nuts... unheard of.
I don't think that US officials are doping their athletes, no. If US athletes are then they are likely doing it through a 3rd party, not the US olympic committee. I don't know how the Chinese women swam that time, but it raises suspicions in my opinion.
Well if they did find some new masking agent to cover up, I believe the IOC keeps athletes' samples to test in the future? But she did pass her drug test, so the only way is of course if its some new steroid or some new masking agent. GB women's soccer beat Brazil in front of 70,000...would love to see USA have to take them on, which will happen if they both win in the Quarterfinals, in the home of Manchester United. 70,000+ Brits against USA in Soccer, the sport they created, would be fun to watch.
Russia prepared their anus in womens gymnastics for us.....Thanks Putin.... Also, why?!?!? Americans love guns......thats why....we git er dun with guns.... http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/olymp...hooters-dominate-olympics-121149392--oly.html
Jesus, just let them keep the money...... http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/olymp...dal-brings-9-000-tax-bill-171555961--oly.html this place sucks sometimes....
Omg the female commentator on diving is horrendously annoying. She screams her thoughts at the top of her lungs as soon as the divers hit the water. WHO ELSE IS GOING TO TALK THAT YOU HAVE TO SCREAM INSTANTLY? Its not like she is gonna miss out on her comment to someone else.. there's literally no one else talking but her. Just stfu already
yeah... amazingly she has been the diving analyst for at least three Olympics now. She is absolutely horrible. Cynthia Potter is her name. Anyone hear about this http://www.nbcolympics.com/video/badminton/highlights-badminton-players-try-to-throw-match.html GBR almost beat Spain in basketball. And then there was the USA unloading on Nigeria. They made 29 three pointers... more than the Nigerian total field goals. 156 to 73. Biggest blowout ever. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/olymp...aphy-annoys-zealand-coach-164229134--oly.html - Haters! By the way, Nick Mangold's sister is a weightlifter. 300+ pounds. Kind of resembles Rex Ryan pre-surgery...
Felt bad for McKayla Maroney, about as sure thing for gold as possible, she went for an extra technical vault on her last one and fell, losing the gold....this picture says it all... FWIW, she did this same vault in the Women's Team Finals, and stuck it perfectly, and the Judges didn't give her a 10...... I remember watching that team finals... her routine was PERFECT. I mean I'm no expert but come on there was 0 flaws in her routine that time.
